This place is owned by a bunch of crooks. We ordered 2 face cakes for my husband's 30th birthday party, and we were given inedible cakes. They were dry and dense. When we called to get a refund, the managers were never available nor did they ever return our MULTIPLE calls. When you pay over 100$ for a cake, you expect good customer service and the decency of the company to assuage a situation when a product is given, not as it was presented. I can honestly say that this is the worst customer service that I have ever received. I hope this business fails. To all who order: do not be disappointed like us and spend money that was not well-spent. more

I was disappointed with the cake we bought for my son's first birthday party. We are giving them a 1 star rating as the cake itself tasted ok but the decorations looked like an amateur did them. Did they have a first year cake decorator make our cake? The cake was missing decorative features that had been agreed upon and did not even have Happy Birthday written on it. For the price the cake cost, I had higher expectations. I should have had Frosted Art make my son's cake. At least then I could justify the price as Frosted Art has proven their cake decorating abilities to me in the past. I had a different party for my son out of state and the cake was 100 times better (taste and decorations) for half the price. I spent $200 for a cake I could have made look better with a few cake decorating classes at Central Market. I will NEVER get a cake from Delicious Cakes again. I will also tell all my friends and family to choose a different baker for their dessert needs. more

I went to several cake tastings for my wedding and found my home. Allie is amazing! She takes her time with you, designs to your budget, has fabulous ideas and the cake is awesome. I have been sending all of my friend there and they are all booking. The cake was affordable, tasted so good and the design was perfect! We couldn't have asked for anything more. This place has horrible customer service and the cake is not even worth the frustration. If you need a cake it would be best to go somewhere else, when I visited there were cake crumbs on the floor in the front of the store and I had to wait for the salesperson to come out to help me. They charged me way too much for the cake that I wanted and them didn't deliver what I ordered. The best thing you can do is to find a different bakery that would actually want to be friendly and not be overpriced. more

I would definitely not recommend Delicious Cakes to anyone! The employees are extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, and just plain rude. Delicious Cakes is also not accredited with the Better Business Bureau which should be a red flag as well. My husband and I ordered both the brides and grooms cakes through Butch at the Delicious Cakes Addison. Upon our initial meeting we felt rushed to choose a design but were satisfied with our selections after our approximately hour long meeting. We checked in periodically with Delicious Cakes and Butch to ensure we still liked our agreed upon design. Three weeks to one month before our wedding date, I provided Butch with $50 in faux pearls, 200 inches in length, I also provided double faced satin ribbon for the brides cake per our agreed upon design. Yes, everything has been going smoothly for the most part at this time. Fast forward to our wedding day; when my new husband and I walked up to our cake and the brides design is nothing like the previously agreed upon look. The beautiful faux pearls have been replaced by Mardi-Gras looking dress-up beads, giving the whole cake a very cheap look. We cut the cakes and cake was served, the next day we learned that not only did my groom and I not receive cake but many of the wedding guests didn't either. Many of our family members and the wedding party did not eat cake. We did think this was strange but didn't pay very much attention to it, until two months after the wedding, I find out from my mom and sister that the brides cake had been in a traffic wreck on its way to the reception site!!!! Neither Butch nor any one else from Delicious Cakes contacted us after the wedding to notify us of the cake being destroyed. I do agree with the company more

My sister just got married on saturday and the wedding was amazing but there was no cake. She had ordered a five tier cake with lace buttercream that matched her dress and it sounded beautiful. She also ordered a surprise cake for the groom that looked like a tackle box. Our first problem came the thursday before the wedding when they called my sister asking what flavors she had ordered and what the cakes were supposed to look like. On the day of the wedding the bakery called the wedding planner at 10 am and said they would be arriving around 6:30 pm. After the ceremony we all went to the reception area and surprise, the cake had not been delivered. The wedding planners and all the family jumped on their phones to call the bakery. No one answered but it gave a number to call if your having problems with delivery. We all called a good fifty times and there was no answer. Needless to say my sister was very disappointed when there was no cake for her and her new husband to cut. All the guest were bewildered that a bakery would be this unprofessional. If you chose to use this bakery, good luck. I would not recommend it to anyone and I would hate to see this happen to anyone else on their special day. more

Please don't waste your money on this place. You could bake a better tasting cake at home using a store bought cake mix. The cake fell apart before I could get it to my house. Pros: Delivered on time Cons: Cake was overpriced and just average taste more

We ordered our wedding cake from Delicious Cakes in Addison in 2009. I had been nervous about ordering there b/c a customer in the store during our tasting was clearly having a problem -- her cake wasn't ready or was wrong or something. But we loved the taste of the cake there so much, and the designs were beautiful, so we decided to order. We picked it up ourselves since our reception site (Italian Club of Dallas) was nearby. The cake was delicious and we had more left than I expected (I assume that since I love cake so much, every guest would love cake too). We got many compliments on the beauty and the taste. We also got a coupon for an anniversary cake with our order. Pros: Cake flavors were delicious Cons: Phone not always answered more

I was really late in getting my wedding cake and wasn't sure who to go to. I read a bunch of reviews on just about EVERY wedding cake place in Dallas and realized they weren't any help because everyone has bad reviews. It doesn't seem like the happy brides ever put anything up, so I decided to. After tasting at least 5 other places, I went to Delicious Cakes. I got the immense pleasure of getting to meet with both Sunday and Butch. They were both really nice and knew what they were talking about. Every time I contacted the store Sunday made sure she either called me back or emailed me within a few days. She really put my mind at ease. On the day of my wedding, I was IN LOVE with my cake. We got the raspberry liquor cake and my guests adored it. It was so beautifully decorated. It was a hit! For the groom's cake we went with the Cassata. I had guests begging me to tell them where I got my cake because they loved it so much. We had a special order for the groom's cake and Delicious Cakes outbid all the other places by hundreds of dollars. After my reception I found out that 4 of my co-workers got their cakes from their also and they had only amazing things to say. I am guessing that the people that are complaining most likely are pretty hard to please in most things in life and probably didn't make it clear what they wanted. Just a guess though. Anyway, I will be going to them for all my cakes from now on and would highly recommend them to anyone. Pros: Best flavors in town more

although they had the design info in their contract 3 months out from my bride's wedding, they didn't return communication along the way. she grew concerned, 3 weeks out met with the owner who added a $600 design charge to one of her cakes and after talking with her for over an hour, about her cake, slid all the design elements across the table to her and said, ""You design the cake and we will pipe it."" Of course, they kept the deposit, however, another bakery was able with 3 weeks to use the same deign elements and create a WONDERFUL tasting/looking cake. Made her day very special for HALF THE PRICE. Delicious cakes may be delicious, but they are not worth the time, trouble or money. Cons: no customer cervice, no follow through, but charge ya anyway more

I ordered my wedding cake from here with a wonderful cake consultant and she no longer worked there several months after my order. I confirmed a week before my wedding everything with a new consultant and I thought everything was fine. I ordered two cakes(groom/bride) and cupcakes for additional goodies. They FORGOT my cupcakes and never brought them to my wedding. They gave me a credit but to forget something to someones freaken wedding is absolutely uncalled for and unacceptable. After I use my credit I will never work with them again!!! Pros: Good Cake Cons: Poor organization and undfriendly more

I have purchased a couple of cakes there. The cakes taste good but each time I call I am reminded of what a terrible experience I have. Everyone is very unfriendly and horribly unhelpful. Their cakes are very expensive. I have only purchased cakes for small occasions where I would not be terribly upset if it wasn't perfect. This is an awesome place to get great tasting and beautiful cakes!! They were very professional and my consultant, Carol, helped me every step of the way with my wedding cake! When I saw my cake at the reception, it was exactly what I had dreamed about! I don?t know about the bad reviews, but if that really happed, I know this company has cleaned up its act! Delicious Cakes has the BEST cakes I have ever tasted. I order from them for every event...birthdays, company parties, showers. And they always do the cutest job decorating to match the theme of my parties. Our favorites are cassata, and orange marmelade. My husband won't let me buy cakes from anywhere else! Pros: Cakes are always taste fresh. Cons: Pretty busy and they book up fast. more
