I had never been a sushi person before I went to Dancing Wasabi. The food is amazing, particularly the specialty rolls, and after heading there with friends for the first time this past summer, I visit as often as I can. My gay friends have never had problems with any of the staff, either. The wait for a table can be long at times, particularly on half price night and prime time on the weekends, so reservations in advance are a good idea if you have a large group. The service is decent on busy nights, but it is better when the place isn't packed. Personally, I've never had a bad service experience thus far. I've also done call ahead takeout, which is super convenient when you don't want to eat by yourself or don't want to wait for a table. Some of these other reviews seem to have obtuse expectations of small, busy establishments. Anyone expecting short wait times without a reservation or super-attentive servers when there isn't an empty seat in the house is just looking for a reason to complain about something. If the management ever decides to buy out the Subway next door and double its seating, I think that would solve table wait issues that we all experience, but until then, call ahead for a table or go on off peak hours if you want to speed things up. The food is worth the wait either way.
Pros: Sushi variety, sake menu, half price night, takeout available, reservations
Cons: neighborhood parking, limited seating, occasional wait for a table on peak nights
