Ok for an after bar place 7/31/2012

Food is ok, it's not kid friendly. This is a good spot to hit when out late. more

unpretentious, casual and just darn cool 3/24/2010

cyclops is great - unpretentious, casual and just darn cool. it's perfect for happy hour, dinner, and/or their weekend brunch. i live in the neighborhood, so am here pretty darn often. on a sunny day, nothing beats sitting outside, sipping a PBR and people watching on 1st. food-wise, i recommend the BBQ PORK ~ a slow roasted pulled pork in a bourbon molasses BBQ sauce, with citrus poblano coleslaw, served on a toasted Macrina brioche bun and the POLENTA ARABIATTA ~ seared polenta cakes in a spicy tomato cream sauce with parmesan cheese & two eggs any style. but honestly, you can't go wrong with any choice. Pros: location more

Breakfast All Day! 4/25/2007

This is a comfortable bar/restaurant that serves breakfast all day. Since I am a big fan of breakfast and I usually can't make it to a restaurant before 3pm on weekends, this was a treasure for me. The breakfast is just fine. Unlike the other reviewer I thought the service was good. You can't expect white-tablecloth service at a diner, but our waiters have been friendly and attentive. I like the interior design. The bloody Mary's were ok. Pros: breakfast all day, good prices, nice interior more

My Not-So-Secret Secret Breakfast Spot 11/18/2006

I love Cyclops when I get a last minute urge to get some breakfast food on Saturday morning. I've never had to wait for a table though the service on coffee refills is a bit lacking. The Italiano Omellete and Migas are delicious. They also have the standard eggs and bacon for those with a not-so-curious pallette. Parking is sometimes tight but you can generally find parking a couple blocks down the hill on Elliott and Wall. Pros: Good breakfast, Never wait for a table Cons: Slower service more

good place for drinks and people watching 10/29/2006

i like this bar...it can get crowded on weekends but it a good place to meet friends, get strong drinks and people watch more

Best food & bar for locals in belltown 9/5/2006

I find my self going back to the Cylops, after years of not going, mostly because of my objection to what Belltown has become, a giant mecca of posers, hipsters & one big meat market for amatures. But gosh darn every time I re-visit the Cyclops I always go away saying I need to come here more often. Try the ravioli on the menu, and then take a look at the fresh sheet. I had the Ahi carpacio with pineapple sambal. Yum!! more

Good Breakfast Food 5/6/2005

I like Cyclops, it is a tad too crowded (weekends) for me as a drinking spot, but it is great for breakfast or for drinks during the week. The breakfast food is really good and is interesting. They have a lot of food for vegetarians / vegans and interesting takes on tradiditional breakfast. Pros: Atmosphere-, Food, Service Cons: Crowds more

A Welcome reprieve! 3/16/2005

Ahhhh...step into Cyclops and reduce the sophmoric tensions and LA buzz of the Belltown Elites right away. This place is serious...This is exactly the type of place people in New York and LA hang out in, all the while the youngsters and hipster wannabe's (poor guys) malinger around the ""scene"" outside. Great staff, stiff drinks, great food and an overall hip vibe/scene that's more sophisticated than most...this place and Belltown Pizza across the st. are great spots on a friday/saturday night... more

Unpretentious 11/4/2003

I find this one of the most easy going bars in Belltown, no expectations, nobody looking down there nose at you. Food is okay, nothing stellar, service is okay to bad. Atmosphere is good. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Deck Cons: Service more

Quintessential Rude Server Experience 5/20/2003

The Cyclops has a nice urban atmosphere - cool decor, funky and relaxed. The food was good, better than expected. (I love pulled pork and theirs lived up to my standards!) However, the service was so bad that it was funny. Last night our waitress seemed highly irritated to be working; after we waited for what seemed an awfully long time she literally threw our menus onto the table, took her sweet time getting us drinks, slammed them and condiments down and totally lacked politeness. I've worked the service industry myself and am a very easy and pleasant customer - this experience was surreal. Will not be going there while she's working! Pros: great french fries, good location, nice decor Cons: horrible service more

Unexpectedly yummy 2/22/2003

I was just passing by and decided to give Cyclops a try. The waitress was accommodating, giving me beer samples when I wasn't sure which I wanted. The menu was full of interesting options but I settled on a house salad, chicken sandwich and bittersweet chocolate torte for dessert. The salad was nice if a bit small, fresh, well prepared and lightly dressed. The sandwich was offered with freshly made pickles and was tasty. Fries were accompanied by special ketchup with spices added - a pleasant surprise! And the dessert was really well made and presented. Attentive service too - I'm going back! Pros: reasonably priced, several vegi options, interesting drinks Cons: didn't love the art, belltown parking more

great for breakfast 11/10/2002

saturday morning breakfast was all about nice, prompt service, looking at great art on the walls, and eating delicious egg concoctions with flair that we didn't expect and priced comparably to other neighborhood establishments. I recommend it! a breakfast-best-kept secret! Pros: great service, great art, great food w/flair Cons: none! more

OK food, Flaky and Apathetic Service 8/13/2002

My wife and I tried Cyclops for the first time last Saturday. She had an appointment later in the morning, but we still had an hour and a half for breakfast, and figured that was enough time. We were seated outside and given menus fairly quickly, but things went downhill from there. The food was extremely slow in coming. The guy with the coffee refills showed up only immediately after we sat down and then dissappeared for what seemed like forever. When we finally got our food our toast wasn't done, and I had already almost finished my modest-sized omelet by the time the waitress and returned with our barely warm toast. We finally got a water refill and speedy response with the check. Unfortunately by that time it didn't matter any more. Cyclops needs to hire more help on weekend mornings. Pros: good omelets, outdoor seating Cons: poor service, small portions more

Yummy! 8/1/2002

180 degree change! 7/25/2002

wow...cyclops used to be so amazing when it was on Western. As we all know, the Re-born Cyclops has been a great drinking place, with so-so food. I heard that Chef Robin Leventhal returned after something like a 5 year hiatus. I sampled the dinner menu last week and was very pleased. The food items sound better even before you see them start to pour out of the kitchen. Previously lifeless salads have become very enticing. I was not too hungry, but managed to eat some great calamari and a tasty Chicken sandwich on brioche (which sounds so good on the menu, it apparently is a hit.) I returned on Sunday for a great brunch served up in the sun on the sidewalk. If you like mango and french toast...I can recomend what I ate. Of course, since this is seattle, it's worth mentioning that the coffee was excellent. more

worth it 5/29/2002

Liked the food, liked the atmosphere, good timing, cool art on the walls and it wasn't crowded on a saturday morning! Pros: inexpensive more
