For years I've been taking my 2 dogs to the big fancy vet hospitals that always catch your eye. I've since learned that was a huge mistake. After yet another poor experience and...

First, I AM NOT NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN AN EMPLOYEE, so DO NOT say that because I have concerns. With that said, on the most part, it's not a bad place. In fact, I switched from Sh...

NIGHTMARE ON COURSEY 10/22/2008

I witnessed the most horrific sight at this hospital. I would gladly go before any court or any judge and bring in every single employee that has ever worked at this clinic as witnesses. Each employee at this clinic has witnessed this type of abuse at one point or another and everyone has discussed this abuse. Precious dogs being kicked or thumped in the head, cats being extremely manhandled and strangled unconscious by a dog leash by the doctor until the animal is under "his control"(as he says). What I witnessed with this particular cat which had four declawed paws was unbearable the poor animal couldn't even defend itself. (BUT WHY SHOULD AN ANMIAL NEED TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM A DOCTOR WHO IS SUPPOSE TO BE HELPING IT!). A client who was in the waiting room at the time of the incident and heard the deafening scream of the cat then the THUMP then nothing . The cat was choked unconscious; its tongue and gums had already turned the deepest purple/black in the spectrum which means NO OXYGEN AT ALL. Brain damage! The cat was left on the table with the leash tightly around its neck until it was finally loosened by an employee. I do not know how this animal will ever be normal because its oxygen was cut off for so long but I have had nightmares of this. I pray that it will be. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you have had your animal at this clinic and you have noticed a change in behavior please get it checked elsewhere. If this were a human child the doctor would be in prison already. Someone has to speak up for the animals. I give this place 0 stars, however the rating system will not let you. Pros: NONE Cons: NONE more

I will try to sum this up for all animal lovers. Never bring your pet to this clinic unless you like being ripped off, lied to and don't love or care about your precious animals. First off, look at the record for how many new faces you see on each visit. This clinic has the BIGGEST employee turnover I have ever seen. Our last and final visit there the doctor was very rude to me. Each time I brought my dog or cat for an exam, I was being told by the Dr that he was training ONCE AGAIN, a new employee. That should tell you something... I popped in early to pick up my dog early and was shocked to find he smelled of an old moldy wet urine stench as though he had been sitting in his own urine on a wet floor and I was given his bedding back soaking wet. I had declined the bath, now I know why they insist on a bath: SO WE WONT KNOW WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON WITH OUR PETS. Since this last incident, I have been told that the animals are left in a very small cage not enough room to be able to move about except for a so called walk twice a day that actually consists of the animals only being allowed to relieve themselves (NO EXERCISE) then put back in their cage. Please Pet owners that use this facility for boarding or for a Dr. THINK TWICE. On Holiday occasions, owners are asked to bring their own kennels in which their animals are left inside of for the entire visit and they will board over 100 animals during Holidays. KNOW, THIS IS ONLY a 40 animal capacity boarding clinic. My cat has also been sedated when I have picked him up causing seizures for days and only because the doctor says he is out of control when he exams him, but the kennel helpers seem to have a different view on that. I have been told by the receptionists and kennel workers how much they love my cat and how sweet he is so YOU TELLME, WHY IS MY CAT BEING SEDATED FOR AN EXAM? MAKES YOU WONDER. I am not sure what is going on at that Clinic but I will NEVER bring my beloved animal back there. Pros: Courteous Receptionists Cons: Rude doctor, expensive, doctor lacking empathy, a conscious and most of all love for animals, more

AVIOD TAKING YOUR PETS HERE! 10/14/2008

I actually give this place no stars but I had to put at least one. Please do not take your pets here! The Dr. is rude to his customers, rude to his employees, and down right mean to the animals! He puts them in small kennels that he calls dog-run's, and they only get to go out twice a day for six minutes at a time! Pros: cant think of any Cons: to many to list more

Don't take your loved ones here 10/14/2008

The dr yells at his employees, does not call customers about work being performed. my beloved dog was only aloud 6 min to use the bathroom and walk around, after being in a small kennel with one piece of newspaper all day. the dr. talked to me as if i was a 5 year old and didnt know anything. when i asked why he doesnt show compassion for the animals the dr said he was only doing this for the money. Pros: none Cons: everthing more

Better Than Expected 10/11/2008

While I've never used a boarding service before I knew at least what I thought a good one should consists of. This was not the place where my dog was supposed to stay, but the person responsible for dropping my dog off couldn't find the original place. Upon finding this out, I promptly researched the place and was concerned after reading the other two reviews. I placed a call to the business and after talking to a very wonderful lady named Tina, whom I could tell ginuinely cared for animals, I rested easy. And upon picking my dog up, I could tell she had been well taken care of. Of course like any dog, she was ready to come home, but she seemed in great spirits, which told me that it was a pleasant stay. It's my belief that the quality of care the animals receive now is a tremendous improvement over previous times that were mentioned in the other reviews. It's my understanding that I will need a boarding service once or twice a year for the next few and I fully intend on using this one. more

Won't Share Medical Records 3/23/2008

After diagnosing a bladder stone which involves a costly surgical procedure, I asked for my dog's records to discuss a second opinion elsewhere. They would not give it to me. They claimed the other vet could request it and I would have to sign paper work consenting to do so. I complied, but they still refused to give me x-rays and test results claiming the other vet would have to pick this information up and I could not. \r \r Human Doctors are more cooperative with patient records. What?s the military secret over a bladder stone x-ray?\r \r Due to the urgency of needing to make a decision before the stone became lodged and having invested over $400 to date, I felt this to be unfair. I decided to eat the expense and use another more caring vet who did their own diagnosis at a fraction of the price. Meanwhile, Coursey Animal Hospital had given my 8 pound Chihuahua an $80 sedative to take the x-ray! Given the procedure at 10am, my dog was still unable to be released till almost 4pm more

Boarding service 3/22/2006

I have not used the vet services here but I did board my dog here once and was very dissapointed. I have been training dogs and working as a vet tech for around 5 years and have managed 2 small boarding/training kennels. I had to leave town on short notice and was new to town so I didn't couldn't go by reccomendatioins for a boarding kennel. I talked to someone over the phone and they assured me that dogs are exercised and allowed out frequently. When I arrived to drop off my dog, I became a little concerned. The place smell really bad, and the staff was hesitant about letting me see the kennels. When I did see them they were extremely small with concrete floors with no bed or padding, kind of like prison for dogs. I was very concerned but I was assured she would be given plenty of time outside. I grabbed a blanket and a toy from the car to leave with her. I have to explain that my dog is extremely well behaved, never has accidents inside, and has become extremely accustomed to being more
