very good doctor 11/3/2010

I would recommend Dr Bob to take care of your pets he is a very loving and concerned Doctor. The kennels are kept clean at all times, you can come in the back with your pets at any time! all of the instruments are sterlized after each procedure. I will be taking my pets to him also I am currently a employee of his.He does not try to sell or recommend anything that is not necessary!! he is not in business just for the money he loves his patients!! more

Very Satisfied 10/28/2010

None of the stories I have read on these reviews are accurate..Dr. Marshall has always been very helpful and knowledgeable about my pets. I have boarded my pets here and I have always been satisfied and my dogs taken very good care of...I would highly recommend this hospital for your pets. more

Loves my pets 10/27/2010

Dr Marshall has always taken good care of my cats. I have 3 and they are healthy because of him. He is a small clinic so I get personal care with one doctor and can always talk to him if I need too. I would recommend anyone let him be a part of your life. My pets doctor is important to me because my pets are important to me.. more

Two-faced doctor 10/23/2010

I worked for him and was a good employee, never late, never sick, always did my job. He went through about 17 assistants in the time I was there. He knew how to be polite and friendly to customers but was really very greedy. Even when we didnt have enough cages to board animals he would not turn them away and shoved them into transport carriers, stacked one on top of eachother ,not even enough room for food and water dishes. Of course,he would not tell this to the owners. At holidays we would have 60 plus animals and often I was alone in taking care of them, some were laying in feces in the smaller cages. more

very caring vet office 6/8/2010

Recently had to board my two dogs with Dr. Bob. Chose this location strictly for boarding b/c it was close to my new house. One of my pets [being treated by another vet] became very ill a few weeks before the trip. Dr. Bob made a few different suggestions for his treatment and medications and took superb care of him while we were out of town. Without charging us any extra per day for boarding, they gave our dog medicine each day, came up with a special diet, and kept him in the front in the "vet area" to keep an eye on him. Our dog is doing much better now on Dr. Bob's treatment plan. more

A wonderful vet 4/23/2010

I've been going to Doctor Bob for 11 years. I have two dogs, one who's 14 and one who's 3. Pros: Fast service, easy scheduling, friendly doc, GREAT treatment Cons: Cost more

He took very good care of us 4/6/2010

I was looking for a second opinion after my vet did not have the equipment necessary to conclusively diagnosis our 13 year old cat. Our neighbors suggested Dr. Bob but came with a warning about him being at times abrupt. I think people tend to confuse being concise and professional with abruptness because my wife and I found him to be nothing but informative and professional. We had to put our cat down that day and he was overly patient and took the time to explain her condition, allow us to make the decision on what to do and to say our good-bys. It was a very difficult time for us and there is nothing negative I can say about Dr. Bob. I can say that the girl who took my appointment was somewhat unfriendly but I'm not there to make friends and I don't care about that non-sense, I care about getting quality treatment for my cat and I feel he did a great job. I would use Dr. Bob again. Pros: Concise and Professional more

grow up 8/21/2009

I have to admit, I was pretty amused when I came across this website and all of its reviews on this place. So much drama!!! I figure if everyone else is doing it I should too, right? I used Dr. Marshall as my vet for years and years. Never really had a major problem, just a few instances in which he spoke to me in a manner that he shouldn't. He really could use a course on people skills. He was never there and was constantly raising his prices to compensate for it. The final straw came when my beloved dog, who was 14 years old, got to the point where she was just suffering too much. I had her in the vet's office several times in the final weeks and had every test and examination done that was recommended. Money was not an issue, she was a member of my family! I had to make that hard decision that all pet owners dread making. So I scheduled the appointment for a Saturday morning. When we arrived, we waited for a good while before we were seen. When he finally did come in he told us that we should repeat all of the same tests that were just done before he would put her to sleep. I told him of her condition at home and said that I thought it was time. He kept pushing me to do expensive testing so I decided to just take her elsewhere. Dr. Marshall became irate with me and then he chased me out into the waiting room (full of witnesses) screaming at the top of his lungs. He followed me outside into the parking lot and was in my face yelling for me to fight him. All the while I'm holding my terrified dog in my arms. It was the most horrible experience I've ever had. If any of you have any doubts, check with the Louisiana State Board of Veterinary Medicine. You can find out how many times he has been reported (a staggering amount)and investigated. These are the people who have the power to revoke his license! Pros: none Cons: the doctor more

Coursey Boulevard Animal Hosp is a bad clinic and boarding facility 8/8/2009

The vet always addressed me like a five year old; particularly when it comes to 1-800 Pet Meds (you get the lecture with every order). With regard to boarding, he touts his Sunday pick up and even charges you for the Sunday night that your pet doesn't stay because he has to pay his prompt and professional staff. Well, his prompt and professional staff left about 6 of us waiting in the hot sun for almost an hour (I had been on the road for 5 hours). I wonder, would they have waited for me that long???? When the vet finally arrived to some angry customers he threw his staff under the bus, took no responsibility, let us all know how inconvienient it was for him to come down and still charged us for Sunday night. At first, I thought that the vet might be good with animals; but the fact of the matter is.....he's neither good with animals nor people. more

I've been going to this vet for nearly 20 years. 4/23/2009

Just for posterity's sake, I'll mention that I am spopt36's girlfriend. Pros: caring vet, friendly staff Cons: a bit pricy more

Good vet 4/23/2009

I've only been taking my dog here for about a year (Dr Bob was highly recommended to me), we had our dog neutered here and there were absolutely no problems, our dog even fell asleep in an employee's arms while they were removing his stitches (no, he wasn't sedated). I had to come here to point out the suspicious timing of the one star reviews, three 1star reviews in March22-23 of 2008. No reviews for 6 months, then a positive 4star review on October 11th 2008. Then even though there were no reviews for 6 months, from Oct 14th to 22nd 2008, there are 5 more one star reviews out of nowhere. Pros: Caring employees, reasonable rates Cons: expensive food more

Loves Pets 4/18/2009

I have been going to this vet and clinic since it opened in 1989. I loved the way he treated my dog as though she was his own pet. My dog loved to board with Dr. Marshall. He would tell me how sweet she was, so I know that he spent more than a few minutes with her. He did tell me to watch if she ever slowed down because that would be unusual for this type of breed. I did switch to another vet for a while because we moved. But when my dog was diagnosed with cancer and the new vet refused to even give her pain medicine, I went back to Dr. Marshall. He did his own x-rays and found other significant problems the other vet missed, an enlarged heart. I should have gone back to him sooner. He was very kind to me because he knew how much I cared about her. Now, I have two new dogs and he treats them both. He does additional test other vets would not consider and because of this he has caught and diagnosed issues before they became a problem. He has also driven 6 miles out of his way to give me my collar and worm pills I forgot. I do remember once that one of his employees was generally 10 minutes late. But he has never berated any employee in front of me. The local does not lend itself to the best boarding facilities. But, I stand by his veternary practice and would not treat my pets anywhere else again. Pros: Loves Pets and will go the extra mile to save a pet Cons: Expensive more

There were concerns... 3/13/2009

First, I AM NOT NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN AN EMPLOYEE, so DO NOT say that because I have concerns. With that said, on the most part, it's not a bad place. In fact, I switched from Sherwood Animal Hospital because my cat came back after a routine bath distressed and extremely dehydrated - not a good sign. However, Dr. Bob can (at times) use a course on people skills when speaking to clients. IF WE DON'T USE YOU YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS ! Also, he needs to hire professional persons who show up on time and actually know how to care for pets. Pros: Seems clean enough Cons: Some, but not all, of the staff can be unprofessional more

Best Vet in Town 11/18/2008

My husband and I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Dr. Bob at the Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital. He took care of our cat for 20 years. Recently, we had to put our cat to sleep. Dr. Bob was very compassionate, caring, and sympathetic during this very difficult time. Over the years, we had to take our cat in for boarding, procedures, and check-ups. We were treated by everyone, Dr. Bob and all of his staff, with professionalism and as an important part of the process. We were always kept abreast of what was happening with our pet and informed of any procedure that Dr. Bob felt was necessary. We would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Bob and the Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital to anyone needing a vet. Pros: How we were treated, the service we received, compassionate, caring by Dr. Bob and staff. Cons: None more

My puppy's Dr 11/15/2008

I not have not only been a client of CBAH, but I have also been an employee for 8 years. I have never seen Dr mishandle an animal. I believe he treats all animals and clients with the same respect. I have never seen a large dog in small cages, nor have I seen cat in carriers unless they were coming in or leaving. I would happly recommmend CBAH to anyone!! Pros: quality animal care/ honest vet/ looks out for animals wellbeing Cons: none more

Thank God for Dr. Bob! 10/29/2008

We have used Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital for 18+ years and have never had any of the problems many of these people have mentioned!!! My animals have received nothing but the best care from Dr. Bob. He makes personal phone calls if there are any concerns and has NEVER performed any procedure, given any medicine, etc. without my authorization. I have popped in at various times over the years to pick up varying items and have always been dealt with in a professional manner. What stands out to me the most was when we had to put my pet to sleep due to age and a large tumor. I could not have asked for a more caring and compassionate veterinarian. We talked at lengh on the phone on our options, I cried, he consoled me and was not the least bit upset when I continued to call with questions. I thanked God ,and continue to do so, the day of the prodecure that Dr. Bob was my vet. I don't think for one minute that I would have received such care from ANYONE else. I continue to bring my pets to Coursey Blvd. and will continue to do so as long as Dr. Bob is there! more

Harsh much? 10/29/2008

I received a call from a friend this past Sunday asking if I was aware of the reviews posted about Coursey Animal Hospital and if I would check this page out. I was appalled and very disappointed. These allegations are false and very hurtful. My family has had 5 cats under the care of Dr. Bob for about 10 years. Two most recently being treated for a thyroid condition and another spade. They both received the best care and were boarded for four days. I have no concerns. I especially appreciate the delicate manner in which ailing cats are handled. Preveiously, when one of the older cats was ill, Dr. Bob called me on my mobile and wanted to make sure my children were not within hearing distance of the conversation so that they would not become upset. We have received nothing but kid glove service. This doesn't seem to be a very popular venue to vent but I felt that I couldn't let this fester. It is unfortunate that many of these reviews seem to coincide with employee's who have either been terminated or have left on their own. Do you think this is a coincidence? This is also the first time I have felt compeled to write a review and take a stand, however, these accusations are extremely unjust based on my experience. Pros: Dr. Bob and his staff Cons: This web site more

Concerned 10/27/2008

I have a deep concern here... People have been checking into the goings on at this particular clinic. Pros: None that I have found so far more

A vet my pets can trust. 10/27/2008

I couldn't be happier than I am with Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital. I have a dog and two cats and the only vet that they are happy with is Dr. Bob. He spends time getting to know them and time with me to help me understand each and every step in their treatment. The reminders that they send to my home are a life saver since I would never remember to get get their check-ups done on time. Boarding is a pleasure because I know my pets are safe. The office is alwasy clean and the staff friendly. more
