For the past 15 years I went to the same veterinarian; so when I was in the process of moving to Baton Rouge, finding a new veterinarian was a very stressful idea. I researched many clinics in the Baton Rouge area, and Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital had really great reviews, and seemed very personal so I decided to take my two kitties there. \r \r Dr. Bob and the staff at Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital made it so easy for me! They relieved me of all my worries. They even had my vaccination history from my old clinic faxed to them before my appt. They were able to see me the same day I called. Then I find out they can even board my cats for me when I go out of town. \r \r They always recognize me when I walk in which is so welcoming. I've been going here for a little over a year now and I can't stop saying nice things about this hospital. They have a great veterinarian, great staff, and a great boarding facility. \r \r Thank you so much, \r Claire, Milo, and Delilah more

DOWN HOME CARE! Everytime that I drop one of my three dogs off at Dr. Bob's office I feel like I have left them in the care of family. When I walk in the office, they know me and my pet by name. They are so well cared for and loved at Coursey Blvd. Animal Hospital. Dr. Bob has a proactive approach to their care, always thinking ahead and anticipating their every need. The staff is extremely courteous and knowledgable about procedures and very willing to take the extra time to explain things so that I understand everything involved. I would never use another vet and I have recommended them to all my friends. more

Have been going to Dr. Bob for almost two years now (both of my dogs life), and LOVE him! \r \r Just recently went on vacation when we got a call that our dog sitter found a stray puppy that had come very close to getting run over by an 18 wheeler. We immediately called Dr. Bob and had our sitters bring her in the very next morning to get checked out and get all of her shots. Unfortunately, we found out that she had parvo almost two days later. Rather than insisting to put the puppy down because of the extremely high chance that she would not make it, Dr. Bob decided to put her on medication and try to fight this deadly disease. After a week in his office, she was fully healed! So incredibly thankful for not only him, but also his wonderful and caring staff that kept us up to date every second she was there. \r \r Every time we bring our puppies in, they always greet us by name. Makes me feel like family. Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing a vet! more

Treated like family! 6/13/2013

For years I've been taking my 2 dogs to the big fancy vet hospitals that always catch your eye. I've since learned that was a huge mistake. After yet another poor experience and getting way overcharged, I decided to look for a new vet. \r \r I found Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital, and was immediately impressed when the vet Dr. Bob answered the phone. I had a TON of questions, but he patiently answered them all. I made my appt and was impressed AGAIN when I was taken immediately in for my appt. No wait at all! The experience was so personal, and Dr. Bob and his staff were so friendly! (Dr. Bob even trimmed my dogs nails personally! Haha) When I thought the experience couldn't get any better, I found out my dogs yearly shots were $40 cheaper than the vet hospital I used before. \r \r I came in a few weeks later to board my dogs (didn't need a reservation!) and they recognized me and my babies instantly! I hope I don't ever have to move out of the area because nothing beats a veterinary more

I truly think Dr Bob is the best veterinarian in Baton Rouge. I have lived and worked in Baton Rouge all of my adult life.I have used Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital for approx 12-14 years. I have used other vets in the past in this area .Dr. Bob has treated 4 cats and 3 dogs of mine in that time frame. I feel like I can trust his care, knowledge and understanding when it comes to the needs of the pet and their owners. My wife and I just had a rough month with 2 of our pets. He really helped us work through it with our older cat and dog and both are doing very well. The older dog had a stroke 2 years ago that he treated and we feel like we have had 2 more years and counting than we thought was possible. Our cat is difficult at best and know he has treated her wll and she is doing fine. Dr Bob and his staff are what you look for in a veterinary hospital.\r \r Thanks Doc and Staff !\r \r Shawn B more

EXCELLENT! 7/7/2012

Dr. Bob is excellent! I drive over an hour to take my pets to him. He's calm, caring and really knows his stufft. He explains things in easy to understand terms and looks out for me and my pets' best interest -AND my wallet! He discusses treatments with me before performing them, so i'm aware of prices & options--which is a first from all the vets I've seen before I was referred to Dr. Bob years ago. Your pets are in safe hands here and I highly recommend Dr. Bob! more

Best vet in baton rouge 4/24/2012

Dr. Bob is awesome I trust him with all three of my pets. He has been my vet for 10 years now. This week he has really shown how great he is. My beloved cat sugar became very ill Sunday night / Monday early morning. She was not responding. I couldn't get her to move or blink she had yellow color In her mouth and the inside of her ears. So right at 7:00am I called Dr. Bob office. And his asst. Devin call him and told him about sugar's condition. He meet me up there within 30 mins. Now today after he treated her she was up purring, moving her legs, tail and even meow a couple of times. This was the 1st time one of my pets have been this sick. I knew he would be good to her because I worked for him in 2007 and in 2008. And I watched him do some amazing things for the animals that come through his doors. Pros: null Cons: null more

Thanks For Saving Her Life. 1/5/2012

Dr. Bob has been the only vet our dog has ever gone to. A few weeks ago our 9 year old Cocker Spaniel was rushed to the emergency vet. We were advised to take her immediately to her primary vet when they opened the next morning @ 7am. The next morning, she was at Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital where the staff treated her as one of their own. She had emergency surgery and spent 3 days recuperating in the best care possible. We were called numerous times daily to be updated on her condition, and was allowed to visit when we wanted. Dr. Marshall literally saved our pups life. She is not only a member of our family, but the vet staff as well. We have been called periodically to by the staff and the vet to check on her progress and to make sure all is going well since she was released. We have never had a bad experience with this vet, and always receive the best care possible. Everything that is done is explained thoroughly, and all precautions are taken when dealing with the safety and heal more

Dr. Bob gave my cat 5 extra years of happy and healthy life 10/13/2011

Let me tell you about Dr. Bob and Coursey Boulevard Animal Hospital. I have been taking my cat to Dr. Bob for years and when she was 14 years old he diagnosed her with a kidney problem. Finally, she had to be put to sleep at the age of 19 1/2. He gave her 5 1/2 more years of good quality life with his excellent care. There was even a time when he took her home iwth him for the evening for treatment. I was with her when he had to put her to sleep and let me tell you it upset Dr. Bob almost as much s it did me. I'm going to wait a while to get another cat, probably this coming Spring, but you can bet I'm going ot take her to see Dr. Bob the very next day. more

Response to Nurse1986 7/19/2011

We (the two Veterinary Technicians) here at Coursey Boulevard Animal Hospital, are appalled at the accusations that "Nurse1986" has posted! Since the puppy was not medically treated while boarding, that means that the care Daisy received while in our facility was 100% up to the staff. In that case, the attack falls directly on our shoulders. more

GREAT SERVICES 7/15/2011

I have used Coursey Blvd Animal Hospital for years for all my animals vet services and boarding. We have always received friendly ,professional, personal care. \r I would recommend this clinic to any of my friends or family. more

TO: NURSE1986 7/12/2011

First of all, don't you have your own vetrinarian that you know and trust? If so, why didn't you board your puppy with that hospital? A reputable animal hospital won't usually remove a collar or harness unless you specifically ask that it be removed. If your dog has hair long enough to matt that seriously over a weekend, it seems that you may need to request grooming services while boarding. I can understand how holding urine could lead to a UTI, but how can a dog that just defecated 5 times be constipated? Are you quite certain that you are bringing your puppy to YOUR vetrinarian on a regular basis? more

AVOID!!!! Opinion based on objective information. 7/3/2011

For starters- I am NOT a previous employee, I am a people nurse not animal nurse. My 6 mo old pup was hesitantly boarded this past week as i had a last minute out of trip come up. I picked her up today and her harness was so tight she was probably having issues breathing as i could not get one single pinky finger under it. When she saw me she yelped for over 2 hours( she has never acted like this). After removing the harness her hair was so matted down- the harness had obviously been on her for a LONG time ( my poor baby!!!) I let her potty after a short ride home and she has passed stool over 5 times ( this is more than she usually passed in 2 -3 days, also she is extremely constipated and dehydrated. She is now walking around my house and cannot pass urine. I just called another vet clinic and asked for advice as she has never acted this way ( wont eat or drink) and vet says sounds like they didnt walk her enough at all and she held her bladder leading to a uti. I WILL be making a trip BACK to this crap hole TUESDAY for a refund so i can pay for my vet visit for a bladder infection... DO NOT bring your BABIES HERE!!!!!!! PAY the EXTRA money and GO elsewhere... more

Great Vet Dr. Bob and Staff 5/25/2011

Having read some of the negative reviews from former emloyees I must say not everyone is cut out to deal with animals. So turnover is understandable , cleaning up animal feceis is not nearly as much fun as petting the cute little guys. more

Awesome vet 5/18/2011

I've been taking my animals to Dr. Bob for 10+ years. He's a fantastic, caring vet. He's realistic about what type of treatment to give (for example, let's try a couple different options before we resort to something that's going to cost me a fortune). I've also boarded my pets there, AND gone in to check on things. I've never seen any evidence on anything inappropriate. Unless they had teams of employees frantically hiding the hundreds of stacked up animals who were crammed in before I walked in the door (numerous times over the years), then it just wasn't happening. Clearly he's being slammed by some aggravated ex-employee. more

Dr. Bob has been a wonderful vet for over 5 years! 4/15/2011

Dr. Bob has been my doberman, Cleo's, vet for over 5 years. Animals cannot lie: Every time I drop Cleo off for a visit, once she realizes where she is, her tails starts wagging and she does what I call her "Happy Cleo Dance." She obviously loves being at the vet, so she must be treated very well there. more

Dr. Bobs' Response to Reviews 12/15/2010

I am humbled by the good reviews I have received. I also take to heart the bad reviews by clients and reflect on what we could have done better or differently to make the client happier. But I am very frustratied by these websites who allow ex-employees to cyber attach me with lies. more
