Not Good 11/9/2009

Everyone messes up from time to time. Good businesses take responsibility for their mistakes. We had been regular customers of Colorado Lace for two years. Recently, they destroyed a blouse. Instead of offering a reasonable solution to a regular customer, they accused us of intentionally burning the blouse then ""sneaking"" it in to be dry cleaned! It wasn't an expensive garment, but it is safe to say that we won't be back. more

DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANER!! 9/10/2008

Like other reviewers, I had a terrible experience with Colorado Lace. I took my wedding dress in to be steamed ONLY, since I had travelled with it from Australia. They claimed to be the ""wedding dress experts"", but when I went to pick my dress up, there were pieces of fabric pulled away from the dress. The girl offerred to fix it, but we were in a hurry and decided to sew it back on ourselves. Later, when we removed the dress from the dry cleaning bag, a large amount of the beading on the dress had been melted onto the fabric! We called the store, only to be told that steaming wouldn't do that... so what exactly did you do to my dress?!! It definately wasn't damaged when I dropped it off. The manager, who also happens to be the owner of the whole company, was extremely rude, and finally agreed to give us a $100 refund - less than half the amount we paid to have the dress cleaned in the first place. I still don't know where to take my dress to have it cleaned post-wedding, since I don't know who can be trusted anymore. Pros: Can't think of anything to outweigh the cons!! Cons: Ruined my wedding dress, terrible customer service more

Avoid Colorado Lace 104th and Federal 6/30/2008

Go Anywhere Else! This place is terrible. I turned a shirt in to be pressed it came back with a large stain on it. I took it back and told the lady it did not have a stain on it when I turned it in. She said it would be fixed and ready in two days, it was not ready for 7 days! The third time I went back to pick it up the lady informed me that I should let them know when I have a stain that needs to be treated. I told her there was no stain before I turned it in (she was the same lady I talked to the first time). She said they do a very good inspection on their shirts and they would not have missed this stain. I said, SO you saw the stain and pressed it into my shirt instead of calling me to see if I wanted it treated AND charged me for it? The stain was not there before I turned it in....DO NOT trust this company with your clothes! Pros: nothing Cons: customer service, reliability more

Terrible service` 1/15/2008

Don't ever take anything to this dry cleaners. My daughters each made a fancy dress for a dress ball. Over a week before the ball we took the dresses in to have them cleaned and pressed so that they would look their best. My wife decided to go to Colorado Lace because of their reputation. Big mistake. First it was very expensive compared to other cleaners, and one of the dresses came back with an ink mark from the ticket that they use to mark the different clothes. I took the dress back in, and they were going to remove the ink. They couldn't get the dress back until the day before the ball, but we figured that would be fine. When we went back to get the dress, they had done nothing, apparently they needed to wet clean that spot and wanted our approval, but they did not even try to get a hold of us. And they needed another several days to do the cleaning. I told them to forget it, I wanted my money back. The person said ""I can't do that, you will have to talk to a manager"" When I went back to talk to the manager, they couldn't give me a refund either, I had to fill out a card for the owner to review and ""see"" if they would give us a refund. It is obvious from the ink stamp that this was a stain they caused, and they won't do anything about it. Instead of asking for them to replace the dress, I just wanted a refund, but apparently they won't do that, even when they cause a problem, so now I will have to take them to court if I want my money back. Cons: Slow, Not helpful, Poor quality more

Customer Beware! 9/11/2007

I recently took a suit into the Colorado Lace at 104th Federal and was quoted a price of $12 to have it cleaned. When I went in to pick it up, I was told the charge was almost $18 - 50% more than the original quote. After much bickering and some shameful behavior on my part, I did finally end up paying the original $12 charge. However, the store does not post prices and when I contacted the corporate office about this situation, I was told 1) they were not required by law to post their prices, 2) they were free to charge whatever they wanted, 3) if I needed to know to know prices ahead of time I should move to Russia and 4) if I was so concerned about money, I should take my business to the dollar cleaners. Money was not the issue in this dispute, it was principle - if I was quoted a price, it should be honored. With a dry cleaning business on pretty much ever corner, I would advise others to take their stuff to a place that appreciates their business, stands by their word and does not consider themselves so elite their customers are willing to pay whatever they chose to charge on a given day. Pros: Location Cons: Rude employees, prices not readily available and verbal quotes not honored more
