Cinelli's has ""distanced"" themselves from the former Vincent's in Cary (there's still a Vincent's on Capitol Blvd) - and there's good AND bad in that... while they've toned down...

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/6/2012

One disappointment after another. I should have known something was wrong by the emptiness but stayed. I asked for a custom dish which was nothing more than putting their antipasto salad on a sub roll and was told no. I then decided on chicken parm. I was brought chicken parm on a roll. (Oh the irony). It had no flavor. My wife said the same about her spagetti & meatballs. I told the waiter we were not happy with the food. The manager came out and made a weak effort at fixing the problem. I didn't ask for any discounts or anything but was still surprised they charged us for the whole meal. This was our first and last time going to Cinelli's. more

Just Dont 7/25/2011

If it wasnt the look, the people wouldnt show. If only people knew what type of restaurant this is beforehand, people would not go. It looks pretty, but thats it. Food was not even decent, the only things that were appealing were the bread and butter and water. I received my pasta and meatballs cold, and the meatballs were tough. My husbands claims the rigatoni and vodka was ""ok"" but not worth the money they charge for garbage. It was a waste to have gone there. more

Great New Italian Restaurant - Got to Try It 5/18/2011

Had dinner at Cinelli's New MacGregor restaurant location and it was Great. Food was delicious with nice large portions. Entire family loved their dishes. Almost too much to eat and had to take some home..Service was excelllent with no waiting and food was delivered quickly right after drinks. Prices are very reasonable and can't get a better deal. New place is beautifully renovated and fab looking bar with plently of space.. Will be back there again. A great value and large delicious portions. more

Great Date Night 4/5/2011

Cinellis is always our first pick for a local date night. Whether we are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or the week-end Cinellis provides a romantic atmosphere, an authentic Italian menu, wine/beer and good cheer. The walls are draped in New York skylines, Marilyn Monroe and the Italian classic shows such as The Sopranos. I'm sad they closed this location recently. But I know that change is good and the new location at MacGregor Village will be even more romantic. xoxoxox Thank you Cinellis for wonderful memories. more

I finally found Authentic Italian in Cary! 4/3/2011

I just moved to NC not all too long ago and have been looking for good Italian food... and I have finally found the place to go! Their pasta dishes are amazing, they seem a tad pricey, but the portions are huge! Definitely worth it! Their made-to-order alfredo sauce is to die for, their meatballs are delicious and almost the size of baseballs! Amazing! I definitely want to go back and try their pizzas, I hear very good things about their Grandma's style pizza. I was informed upon my visit that they are moving to a new location- Macgregor village; bigger, fancier and with a full bar, as well as a lunch buffet. I can't wait for them to open. I suggest everyone go try it, and write a review of the new place! more

Great food-great service-great catering!!!!!!!!!!!Had friends down from New York- and we enjoyed a great meal at Cinelli's-- The wait staff were so attentive and courteous!!!!!!!!!!My friends thought they were eating up in Long Island-- They met with the owner and wow was she so dynamic and creative with her Italian dishes!!!!!!!!!!!Being in North Carolina and having a New York experience of great Italian dining- all I can say is- my friends have this on their list when they come next month--Ciao!!!!!!!!!Additionally, the catering was great- the lasagna and meatballs -there was nothing left but the catering platters---timeley delivery and card with the order--- cleanup and set-up was offered -how can you beat this----nothing like home style Italian food- when all around us are chain restaurants-we are lucky- ****************Cinellis -now at MacGregor-just went tonite May 18,2011-- off the chart-beautiful restaurant-reminds one of Tuscany- each entree served on a jumbo dinner plate-fresh mushrooms and sauce!!!!!!!!!!Busy place but didn't have to wait long-- fun place--Chicken parmigiano-juicy and loads of cheese- linguini perfect-sauce -tasted homemade-- a homerun here more

My LAST TRY 1/24/2011

I've eaten at this restaurant for the last time. We began eating at Cinelli's about 10 years ago. The food and service used to be very good and the male owner was always very outgoing and helpful. Over the last couple years the business has really gone down hill. We kept visiting the restaurant ever so often hoping things would get better, but they are worse than ever. On our last two visits, the restaurant was so COLD on both visits we had to leave our coats on and ate in a hurry just to get out so we could warm up. The bathroom smelled like septic or sewer and there was nothing to dry hands on in the ladies' room and the hand dryer did not work. Made me wonder how the help washed and dryed their hands. The rolls were served cold, the pizza crust was not even cose to done, but actually very doughy. When we mentioned this to the wait staff they called the female owner over and she was abrupt and rude. Never offered to prepare another pizza to get the crust more done or anything. She was not interested at all in trying to see that her customer was satisfied. more

Worst service 11/25/2009

Went with friends and family for lunch, and the staff didn't even bother to talk to us. It is not that the place was crowded, the staff just didn't seem to care. Very poor service. Won't go there again. Pros: Food is ok Cons: Staff is unprofessional and rude more

UNPROFESSIONAL 9/27/2009

I have eaten at cinellis several times and it never seems to amaze me how rude the poeple are that work there. The service is horrible. I had a problem with a dish I had ordered and asked to speak to the manager. A heavy set women came over and said she was the owner. She was rude, had an attitude and extremely unprofessional. I hope thats not the owners wife because she needs to be fired asap... everyone i speak to says the same thing so i really beleive that all these ""good"" reveiews are from friends and family. I will never go there again Pros: GOOD FOOD Cons: HORRIBLE STAFF more

Mediocre service 9/8/2009

and management doesn't want to hear otherwise. Cons: service more

Speechless 4/2/2009

Eaten at Cinellie's a few times both times the wait staff seemed a bit rude and blunt. Basically you sit down, they ask what you want to drink, come back and take your order. Never was checked on and when my food came out cold the waitress looked at me is disbelief. Waited about 15 mins for it to some back out again. Very disappointed. The waitresses need to get their attitude in check. As a waitress myself I know its not hard to be a even a small bit welcoming and friendly to a table. Pros: Large Portions Cons: Unfriendly Waitress,Cold Food more

Wonderful resturant and family! 4/8/2008

I?ve worked, and eaten at Cinelli?s for nearly 4 years! I love working there, I can never seem to leave. Most of these comments are bogus! Anywhere you go to eat, you will find positive and negative comments, pick any restaurant and read the comments. As far as the negative comments about the food, I?m sure you all are the ones that complain about the food after you?ve already eaten the WHOLE dish! You are just a cheap, waste of a table space, con! If you?re going to be so critical eat at your own house. Every restaurant has their own interpretation on what a dish should taste like, don?t expect it to be exactly how you like it, and don?t come in expected to take this and that out and add this and that?it?s not going to happen. Oh and don?t even think about bitching about how you?re charged for all the changes. As for the staff if we are soo rude, ?trashy?, and incompetent why do we always have a wait on Friday/Saturday nights? We can?t be that bad..As far as the owner and his wife are concerned, they are two of the best people I?ve ever worked for! They are kind, generous, and understanding! They have always been there for me and anyone else I?ve worked there with. Pros: Food,Owners, staff Cons: sometimes we give losers a chance, and they screw us! more

Great casual dining, excellent menu 4/7/2008

For the past five years I have been working for the Cinelli family. The Cinelli's have become my second family. I am apalled with the comments made previously about the owner and his wife. She is not only my boss but has become a very close friend. She is very concerned about the staff that come to work for her. She works very hard to train knowledgeable and friendly servers, while her husband trains the cooks, making every dish served authentic. Not only is the care of the employees a top priority, but the care of every customer that walks through her doors, making them part of the Cinelli family. The food is authentic, as the owner grew up in Italy, and the food portions are extremly large for the money spent. I would highly recomend Cinelli's to anyone. Whether you are out on a date or taking your large party out to dinner. And the servers working there are not ""trash"". The trash left when Brianna was fired. So please stop writing these false accusations, Brianna, you've been gone for over three years. Enough is enough. Pros: Food portion, extensive menu options, great service, excellent ownership! more

Top Quality food, Casual Dining! 4/6/2008

If you want a place to go where its friendly, up beat, and just all around a great atmosphere Cinellis' is the place to go! The working staff has great chemistry and the management is wonderful. Problems happen like every other restaurant, but they make up for their mistakes. The owners are very involved and always know whats going on with their business. The Cinellis are great people, and a run a great restaurant. Reading a previous remark from 3108 sounds to me its a just a disgruntle ex employee who has not got over losing her job and you can tell she is still very upset about it. And by the way I know Mrs. Cinelli personally and all of her staff comes to her for advice, problems, and she is always there for them! Pros: great food and friendley staff Cons: sometimes a ling wait to eat ..but worht it more

Cinelli's First Vist a dud! 2/24/2008

We used a restaurant dot com coupon as an excuse to try some new food in the Cary/Raleigh area. Overall we were not impressed at all. The food quality was ok but the prices are high end for this environment and service. We felt more like we were in a college sandwich shop but at the prices - we knew we weren't! : $19.50 for veal piccatta w/ a small salad, $18 for fettucini alredo with small salad and chicken, $6 tiny kids raviloi plus $1.50 for the drink (who doesn't give the kids a break to get mom/dad to come in!?) and $8 for a pepperoni pizza roll with peppers and onions..... we made it to $60.48 for me, the wife a 15 and a 4year old. Whew! Using the rest dot com certificate mandates an 18% gratuity. Service was friendly but drinks went empty, frequent requests had to be made for napkins, etc. Pros: Quant place, casual very informal atmosphere, Cons: Cramped seating, noisy, slow service/drink refills, pricey for what you get. Kids menu way overpriced! more

GREAT FOOD,SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT VERY FRIENDLY 11/11/2007

WELL WE WENT TO CINELLI'S IN CARY (ON KILDAIRE FARMRD) AND WE HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE.I THINK SOME OF THOSE REVIEWS THAT WERE POSTED ARE FROM XEMPLOYEE'S OR OTHER BUISNESS'S IN THE AREA AND ARE JUST JEALOUS . WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS PLACE FOR YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. WE LOVE THE WHOLE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT(AND WE MEAN THE WHOLE FAMILY MOM,DAD AND THE KIDS)THE FOOD PORTIONS ARE HUGH AND PRICED RIGHT.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CINELLI'S ON KILDAIRE OF CARY Pros: GREAT PRICES,OUTSTANDING SERVICE more

Great Food. Too Expensive for Jusr Pizza and Service Is Lacking 10/3/2007

Food is very good. Howver the service has really gone down hill. Wife ordered a beer but was not given a glass for 15 minutes. Eating here has become very expensive. We had ""Grandmas Pizza"" with two toppings. My bill was $36. (Just for a pizza). Each topping was $4.50. The cost might have been described on the menu, but I could not find it. Think I'll go back to the Olive Garden where I get a good meal for the money. They don't seem to be interesrted in good service anymore. more

APEX Location: Charged $1.50 for cheese on salad 8/4/2007

arrived at 12:30pm on a saturday to an empty restaurant. A shy waitress took our order and brought us rolls that were actually pretty good. for lunch, we had pizza slices and salads. the pizza seemed to be new york style and the salads were pretty generous. however, my bill reflected a $1.50 charge for mozzarella cheese on a $3.00 salad and a $1.00 for pepperoni on two slices of pizza. i complained about the cheese to my waitress but she made no concession. yes, i can afford $1.50 but i wont be going back. more
