great place 8/2/2003

Great food, great service, huge portions, the hustle bustle of a NYC Bistro, the taste of an Italian Trattoria, right here in Cary. Pros: friendly service, authentic italian, tremendous portions Cons: no bar more

Great Italian Eatery! 7/26/2003

Growing up in a strong Italian family, I have certainly learned to appreciate good Italian food. Not too often do I come across Italian food that is as satisfying as my family's; however, Cinelli's definitely hits the spot! With such a great variety of both pizza and pasta, you can enjoy the Pizzeria no matter what type of mood you are in. The pizza is great, especially the Grandma's, but the Eggplant Rollatini is the best! more

Just like home 7/22/2003

The moment I walked through the door,I knew I was at home. It is very hard to escape the corporate cookie cutter,or down -home,southern style dining options that seem so prevelent in Cary. Dining at Cinellis is like going home to NY without jumping on a plane! After reading some of the less complimentary reviews, I can only conclude that the witers have never,or have no desire to visit NY. Several NC natives suggested I head straight to the Olive Garden for some great Italian food, I had to laugh. Cinellis is the real deal, with all scratch-made sauces and portion sizes that would make any Nona proud. The staff was both laid back and professional creating a family style atmosphere reminiscent of Sunday dinners at home. If you are seeking a quality Italian meal with a glimpse of New York , you must experience Cinellis for yourself! more

I love Cinellis 7/21/2003

Cinellis is an overall fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is good for any type of occasion, like going on a date or going out to eat with family and friends. The restaurant has a small and cozy atmosphere. The service is always prompt and friendly. The authentic New York italian food keeps people coming back for more. My favorite pizza is their specialty grandma pizza. Their prices are moderate for the high quality of food you get. If you are looking for a great Italian food restaurant for a reasonable price, I strongly recommend the dining experience at Cinellis Restaurant. Pros: Good Atmosphere, seated quickly, friendly more

By far my favorite 7/18/2003

I can't even begin to tell you how good Cinellis Pizza is. It is by far the best in town. To start with, the pizza is the best. Grandma's, Sicillian, and New York's Pizza are all the best. Either one and you'll be satisfied. Any of the pastas that I have tried have been amazing. And for the kids, there's also chicken fingers, fries, and sliced pizza, which will go over very well with them. If you haven't been to Cinellis, you need to stop by and try it. The service is quick and friendly. more

The Best Resturant in Town! 7/18/2003

Cinellis is an awesome resturant. The excellent service and food keeps everyone comming back for more. They have by far the best pizza in town and amazing pasta diches such as Penne Rustico, Pasta Vodka, and Tortellini Carbonara. The atmosphere is great with the relaxed outside patio or the more upscale, inside area. If you have not been there yet, you should check it out because you'll relize that you are at the best Italian resturant in town! Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Nice atmosphere more

simply the best 3/6/2003

In, out, up and around and all throughout the the Triangle, simply the best Italian Restaurant without a doubt. The Service is top notch, The drive-thru window is so convenient, especially with bad weather being the norm. Oh! and by the way the pizza is the best around, check it out. Pros: great food, great service, drive thru more

New Yorkers know! 3/4/2003

Cinelli's is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel at home. My family and I (11 of us) are transplants from Long Island, NY and coming to Cinelli's is a Friday night routine for us. We love the food, the service and the family friendly atmosphere. If you know Italian food and wish you could find it here in Cary, try Cinelli's, you won't be disappointed! more

chef 2/20/2003

It's not to often that I, as a retired chef get to go out and thouroughly enjoy a meal like Idid at Cinelli's this past weekend. My wife and I went out with 3 other couples, which most of time doesn't bode well with trying to please everyones palate, getting the order right and being served in a reasonably amount of time. Well, our whole group was pleasantly surprised and totally impressed with our whole experience. When we arrived we didn't think we'd get in, there was a line out the door, we gave our name to one the the many hostesses that greeted us, she politely informed us that it would be 20 to 30 minutes and darned if we didn't get called in 25 minutes. Well anyway Icould go on and on, but instead I'll just tell you that we had a fantastic experience and highly reccomend it. Pros: great food, large portions, great service more

Management with a BAD Attitude 1/26/2003

The waiter got an order wrong and we all had ben served, so my friend did not want to wait for another dish to be made, so she just ate what she got. When I asked for some special compensation I was given the most unfriendly attitude by a restaurant owner that I have ever received. We DID NOT PUT THE ORDER IN WRONG, THEY DID! In today's economy you would expect superior service, which we did not receive, especially from Upper Management. It was very Noisy as well. And they did not have a Kids Menu. I will never go back!!! Cons: Crowded, Noisy/No Kids Menu, Unfriendly more

In Durham Too! 1/20/2003

Went to the Cinelli's on Main Street in Durham. Excellent Italian food at a reasonible price. I was impressed by the quantities and quality. Arrived at 7:00 on a Friday evening and was seated immediately. I had pasta with seafood sauce (squid and scungelli), wife had white clam sauce. Wine prices were very reasonible and the house cab was very good. I've heard that the pixxa is excellent and will try that on next visit. Pros: reasonible prices, good parking, friendly staff more

Now Dats New York!!! 12/21/2002

Enter into Cinelli's and you can close your eyes and you can picture yourself in one of New Yorks great Italian eateries. It's fast paced, unpretenous, always bustling with energyand the staff always greets us with a smile, they make us feel like we've known them all our lives. They make us feel that we mean something not just a table and a buck. We moved here from Boston 10 years ago which by the way has some great Italian restaurants not to mention fantastic pizza places. Discovering Cinelli's I can close my eyes very easily be in Boston's or New York's Little Italy. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Drive Thru Cons: Long Lines, No Bar more

""The Hype is Right"" 12/21/2002

Hearing so many raves about this place, I really didn't believe it could be as good as they said. I live inside the beltline and I now visit Cinelli's 2 to 3 times a week, I've literally tried everything on the menu. My wife and kids will not any pizza or Italian anywhere but Cinelli's. I just happened to be perusing the citysearch site when I saw some unflattering reviews, which after getting to know the staff and falling in love with the whole Cinellis experience, I highly reccomend Cinelli's, and beleive it to be the best Italian restaurant in the triangle and among the best restaurants that I've ever been in. Pros: great pizza, great service, drive thru Cons: no bar, long lines, noisy more

Be Popeye 11/1/2002

Cinelli's has ""distanced"" themselves from the former Vincent's in Cary (there's still a Vincent's on Capitol Blvd) - and there's good AND bad in that... while they've toned down the faux classic ""paintings"" on the walls, there's still not a lot of fancy decor in the place... but, hey, we go for the food, right? Cinelli's has some great imaginitive dishes (the ""Sinatra"" pasta with pink, tender shrimp, artichoke hearts, and whole cloves of garlic is a winner!) but beware, the food is literally SWIMMING in olive oil! At the end of a red-sauce with prociutto and cheery tomatoes, there was a pool of oil at the bottom of my plate! Same thing for the white clam sauce - nice & garlicky, chunks of tender clams, but very oily at the bottom... more

pricey 10/14/2002

Too pricey for a family. Sorry, but not kid friendly -- if your child doesn't like/want a slice of pizza then you will pay out the nose for your child to eat. $10 for chicken fingers and french fries...come on, this is undeniably the usual fare for kids - let the price reflect it. We found the stuffed veggie pizza to taste a little strange..like maybe the veggies weren't fresh? Looks alot better inside than the decorating of its predecessor. Wait staff is friendly, portions okay -- too many families in this area not be have a kids menu. Pros: service Cons: no kids menu, "kids" items pricey, freshness? more

Very Good 10/6/2002

My family and I decided to try Cinelli's after checking out their ratings and it was very good! The Pasta Vodka Sauce was delicious and the pizza looked pretty authentic to italian places in Boston's Little Italy. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes huge. The only bad thing is that it was loud and the layout still resembled the fast food days of the buildings past. more

not even italian 9/27/2002

We throughly enjoyed our food at Cinelli's on Six Forks Road. The chef there knows Italian Food! The atmosphere was very quiet and the service great. I recommend this restaurant to anyone from NYC looking for the best Italian food in the city. more

small portions, expensive 9/7/2002

too expensive, poor value, food okay - not great...better options beckon, looks like some of the reviewers are writing under several names. just like Italy????...give me a break. Pros: central cary location Cons: no kids menu, expensive, small portions more

buonissimo! 9/4/2002

I've only had their pizza, and I must say it's the closest to the real Italian pizza that you eat in Italy. Finally some good pizza more

Da best 9/4/2002

Cinelli's is absolutely the best Italian food in the Triangle, period. My husband and I are both fron NY and grew up on the stuff. After 20 years here, we thought we'd never find the real thing. The pastas and sauces are perfect. My husband says the veal is the best he's had in many, many years. My favorite dish appears as a special on occasion - a fish (whatever is fresh) livornaise, a huge filet over linguine with a tomato-based ""bordetto"" (I believe it is wine based) sauce with olives & capers. It is to die for. Also recommended is anything with eggplant - they do it the best. And the Caesar salad. There is always enough left over for the next day. Pros: wonderful food, reasonable prices, very large portions Cons: none - all great more
