My 86 year old mother has been a patient of Dr. Hirsch for three years, since moving into the neighborhood. Unfortunately, she had neglected her teeth for many years because of anxiety and fear about dental exams and procedures. Dr. Hirsch reassured and engaged my mother, who has dementia, with warmth, sincerity and patience and without judgement or condescension. I bring my mother to most of her dental appointments. Dr. Hirsch is always eager to explain to me what his concerns and recommendations are for her treatment. He and his assistant have now done numerous exams and cleanings for my mother, as well as about four root canals, and a dental appliance. A few weeks ago my mother chipped her front tooth. Theresa got her in for an emergency appointment within two days, which in itself was a huge relief. Dr. Hirsch was able to save the tooth and created a "labial composite veneer." He allowed me to watch the procedure, which was absolutely amazing and took only an hour! He took the time to explain/educate me every step along the way. Not everyone would want that, but I did, and Dr. Hirsch obliged my curiosity with his expertise and artistry. Yes, artistry. My mother walked out of Dr. Hirsch's office with a repaired tooth that looked identical to and as natural as the one next to it. I would recommend Dr. Hirsch to anyone looking for a dentist and I think he is especially gifted working with the elderly.
