This company is a pain in the ""BUTT"". I have wrote them several times, e-mailed & talked with them by phone to stop the harassing phone calls. I have done as the Florida's General Attorney Office had advised, but these rude, ugly, nasty, hateful, bad attitude, threats, claiming that they will take everything my parents own, they make statements like ""don't tell me you are broke, the people in Florida are not broke, you better get a lawyer, I don't care if you have had a heart attack, get a job anyway"".... and so on....... Anyone know a great lawyer, I would like to take these peoples to court for putting more unwanted stress on (2) heart patients that also have dieabeties, high BP, going blind, and other illness....... CCS IS A GREAT COMPANY. I HAD A DEBT NEEDLESS TO SAY, THAT NEEDED TO BE PAID- CENTRAL CREDIT NOTIFIED ME OF THE OUTSTANDING DEBT- I NEVER KNEW I HAD. I ASKED THEM TO VERIFY THAT THE ACCOUNT WAS INDEED MINE. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY HELPFUL WHEN I CALLED BACK WITH MY FILE NUMBER. I READ HER THE FILE NUMBER WHICH BROUGHT UP MY NAME. I ASKED NICELY TO VERIFY THE AD AND SS# ON THE ACCOUNT. I HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. THE LADY WAS VERY HELPFUL . UNFORTUNATELY, THE ACCOUNT WAS INDEED MINE. I TOOK FULL RESPONSIBILTY AND TALKED TO A REP WHO WAS HANDLING MY ACCOUNT. THEY GENTLE MAN OFFERED ME A SETTLEMENT AND I PAID IT OFF IN FULL.!!!!THANK YOU CCS !! MY CREDIT IS BETTER NOW ! i recieved the most perversly harrassing phone call today from this office. The man i spoke with was rude, belittling and harsh. I told him that I now find myself disabled and recieving 160.00 in food stamps. He told me to get off my butt and get a job. He said that it was the middle of the day and i was just sitting on my butt. Then he proceede to tell me to sell my food stamps. I told him that I had a heart condition and he continued to harass me. He told me more than a few times to sell my food stamps and when i asked to speak with a supervisor he hung up on me. Needless to say I called back and was kept on hold for 45 mins. I am not the first person to experience this, There is a class action law suit filed against this company. Cons: rude, vengeful, harsh, ignoraqnt more

Dont Speak with Mr. Markmon 3/27/2008

I called CCS today to speak with the person I was assigned to about my account. When I gave him my number I was immediately transferred to a ""manager"" named John Markmon. I was trying to figure out a way to set up another payment for next month since I was having difficulty this month making the payment. After I explained my situation, Mr. Markmon started to make the sound of a cash register to me ""Cha-Ching, Cha-Ching"" and on and on he went yelling!! Then told me that I had so much fun running up my bill but did not want to pay it. I understand I need to clear this up but I cant believe that a manager is allowed to talk to someone like that and make you feel like a loser!! more

Central Credit Services did great 3/11/2008

I was behind on a Sears payment and the acct. was charged off. CCS took the account and contacted me. I was hesitant to speak with them on the phone because of several negative memo's I had read on the internet. Via snail-mail, I agreed to a settlement price and CCS called to confirm they had accepted. Now, I need to pay them....to make a long story short. I worked with a CCS representative ""Kay Watson"". She was the most pleasant and professional. I think that the negative memo's I read on the web influenced me in the wrong direction. Sure, some bill collectors are jerks, but Kay Watson at Central Credit Services was a pleasure to work with. If you need to work with CCS.. give Kay a call. Don't trust the answers they give you on the phon 1/29/2008

I have been waiting since April 2007 to get information from them. In April, I paid the account off in full at one time. It is now January 29th, 2008 and I have called them, left them messages and I still don't see the information I have waiting been waiting 9 months to receive. Everytime I call them, I get the same answer,"" You will see it in 45-60 days"". I wonder how many times I will have to hear that before it is the TRUTH! Pros: They always take your call. Cons: They lie about sending you something in 45-60 days, because you never see it! more

Caution 12/29/2007

As a credit counselor I deal with many junk debt collectors and have found CCS to be one of the most challenging to deal with. Those forced to deal with ccs don't really have a choice, so to simplify your life take this advice. Send a letter via certified mail telling them to contact you only via u.s. mail. Don't waste your breath asking for this over the phone. Don't even think about paying them until they have validated the debt. Find out how to do this by searching Credit Infocenter on google. The majority of representatives at this company know as much or less than you do about collection agencies. They are trained only to say what will make you pay. Insist on conducting business only on paper via mail. They will be much more cautious with what they say and the info will be much more reliable. They want to be sued as infrequently as possible.
