Editorial review from Citysearch 11/1/2012

My wife and I love our Caviness and Cates home! Our agent recommended Caviness and Cates to us, and I'm glad she did. We loved the floor plan, we don't have kids yet but it's nice to know we'll have the room in the future. The location is perfect distance to work and good schools, nice community, design, and price! We've been in the home a little over a year and haven't had any issues. We would definately purchase again and we recommend them to anyone! more

We just had a home inspection done by 6/5/2012

We just had a home inspection done by Amerispec Inspection Services on our home in Cameron before our first year warranty expired, and the home inspector was VERY impressed with the quality craftsmanship and supplies that were used in the building of our home. He said everything from the top of the line insulation to the special venting in the roof, it was all done in the highest of standards. There were a few small issues but Caviness and Cates already took care of them. It's easy for us to see how they continue to do so well! We are very happy with our home more

First time 4/20/2012

We thought buying a home for the first time would be difficult, but the process was smooth and everything was taken care of perfectly through the builder's inspection. more

THANK YOU 4/5/2012

Good job 3/16/2012

My family moved to Coopers Creek last year. We couldn't be happier. This is our second Caviness and Cates home. We had previously lived in Raeford. That house was built in 2004. We decided to keep it as a rental. Rather than sell it. We just had a home inspection done on our new home. This was after the first year. Just a few things came up. The builder fixed everything. It's easy to see why they continue to do so well. Great job again. more

Good house and great company response 3/1/2012

Bought our home in Parkton from Caviness and Cates in 2005 and we have had a few issues, the most major was a leak in my living room ceiling last summer. We called them and even though we were out of warranty someone from the company did come out and look. They actually figured out that after a few years some insulation had fallen down above the front porch ceiling and hot air from outside was getting into my attic and causing condensation to build up on a cold air conditioning duct which then dripped onto the ceiling. The guy showed me exactly what had happened so I would understand. He said that their new houses are Energy Star and wouldn't do that, and even though it wasn't a warranty item they would help me fix it since it was a known issue. Some of the other concerns I had were due to caulking cracking on the outside of the house, the guy said that is something that homeowners have to check every couple of years. He showed me how to do it so the problems won't get any worse. Overall the house has been great, and my friends at work can't believe the company even came back out after six years, much less showing me how to take care of things. Most everyone else I've talked to about Caviness and Cates says that they go above and beyond what the average home builder would do, and I agree. more

Great warranty service 2/20/2012

Our warranty representative Michael has done an outstanding job for me and my husband since we bought our home in Raeford in December of 2010. We have had a couple warranty issues but Michael is always quick to respond and is professional, and friendly. Its evident he is driven to provide the best service for Caviness & Cates customers. We love our home. more

I advise you look elsewhere! 2/1/2012

Although I did not have the home built, I did by it from the original owner. My house was built in 2003 by CC and I am amazed to see that they are still in business. more

Good company 8/2/2011

Me and my wife love our home. Our builder was great and since moving in our warranty person has assisted us with everything quickly and he is very professional. When my duties require me to be away I am confident that my wife can call and get good service. C&C is a company that stands by their product. more

Not impressed 6/20/2011

My husband and I built our home with CC when we PCS'd to the Bragg area. We are only 6 months into our closing and all I can say is that I am not impressed. The process of selections was ok, the woman who took it all down rushed all the steps and overly stated her opinion as to what choices WE should make for OUR home. Saying things like ""those shutters are super country"". WE were hardly given any upgrade options... you would think that they wanted to make money and they would give us all the options available. Now living in the home you can tell is was build with the cheapest materials possible. I have already had 5 warranty claims and only 1 has been resolved. Even called 4-5 times a week and leaving messages. I'm confused why the standard isn't across the board. Some of our neighbors have sod on 3 sides of their homes and others only 2. We had members from CC come to fix our leaking irrigation system and they cut our cable line in the yard, they didn't come in to tell us, they just left the 2 broken wires sticking out of the ground and left us with no cable. So overall, i wouldn't suggest not buying from CC. Just be aware and a have your CC rep on speed dial. more

Response from Caviness and Cates 5/2/2011

This is Andrew Benbow, Customer Service Manager with Caviness and Cates Communities, responding to the review posted on 4/20/11. Caviness and Cates was already working to resolve these concerns. While it is unfortunate that the issue occurred, we stand behind what we build. The homeowner has been promised that the floors will be made right, and the warranty on the affected flooring was extended. The repairs made so far to the floors are acceptable by all industry standards- and after the final touch-ups are performed during the next appointment at the homeowner's convenience, any cosmetic concerns will be resolved as well. We are currently continuing to work to make sure all of the concerns raised by this homeowner are resolved, as we do with all of our homeowners. We take customer satisfaction very seriously. Every homeowner has several opportunities to provide feedback about their experiences after closing, and of all who choose to respond, almost 97% state they are satisfied and would recommend Caviness and Cates. Caviness & Cates Homes are HORRIBLE 4/20/2011

I have been dealing with CC for a year now. When I moved in my home it was discovered that a bad batch of glue was used to glue down the hardwood. Instead of taking up the floors and doing them correctly. CC sent employee after employee in here to LOOK and then DESTROY these people drilled holes in the floors and filled them with glue, leaving holes all over the floors. The carpet... I was also told it was a bad batch of carpet, it falls apart when you vac the floors. Promise after promise has been made by the warrnaty department and yet nothing is done. One year later my backyard still floods, they promised me dirt and never delivered it. I do not trust CC housing. The quality of products they put in ths home is the lowest on the market. One thing I can say is H&H homes does put better quality cabinets and flooing into their homes. more

Customer Service 12/29/2009

Caviness and Cates Communities is one of the leading builders in this area. They have close to a 100% Customer Satisfaction Rating, and are one of three nominees for ""2009 Business of the Year"" by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. The previous reviewer appears to be involved with Caviness Land, however Caviness and Cates Communities is a separate company. Customer Satisfaction is the number one priority of Caviness and Cates Communities. In the interests of continuous improvement, they even call every homeowner 30 days after purchasing their new home to ensure satisfaction and identify any potential issues. I know of many families who would recommend Caviness and Cates Communities. Pros: Value, Service, Designs, Warranty, Energy Star... more
