Last month my sister, husband and I decided to take our 84 year old dad to a special evening. We went to Cavatore early before the crowd. We were placed in a small room in the front of the restaurant. Our waiter was also serving a group in the private room directly in front of the door. Our waiter greeted us and never came back with our drinks. My sister went to the bar to get our tea and wine. We were never served bread until we got up and asked another server to get us some. Our food was o.k. but remember this was a celebration. (Dad out of the hospital). When we waved to our waiter to please give us water, he made faces, like we were bothering him. We asked to see the dessert tray and that was like asking for blood. The dessert arrived later and then the coffee. We paid and left. In the car we discussed how poorly the service was and my sister decided to make a call, just to let them know .Not trying to get anything from them.. She left a message and the owner called and apologized and invited us to come back…. Well we hesitated but went….WELL the owner was not there and the manager treated us like we were lying. She asked to see our statement from when we were there and had us wait until she verified it. She asked us to wait until her assistant arrived, which all he did was walk passed us without saying a word. By then we were not happy. We told her to just give us the bill. So she deducted what we had spent the last time and had us pay for the remaining balance. We told her that we were not the kind of people that would try to lie to an establishment. The original owner told us by phone that this was a family owned restaurant and they survive by word of mouth and they were sorry for the bad service the first time. Well we will never go back and we will tell all our friends that they do not stand by their word. We left embarrassed and angry.
