One of the most highly rated Italian Concepts ever in the Minneapolis area. There were three locations. Now just two Eden Prairie, MN and Naples, FL. Still among the best around ...

Dined there on July 4th (one of the few places open, I might add). Was not impressed - food seemed overpriced, especially the simple pastas easily made with just a novice's knowle...

Reminded us of the places we went to in Italy. Atmosphere is nice without being pretentious, food was delicious, service was spot-on, and the bill wasn't bad at all. This is not your US Italian Red-Sauce establishment - just delicious Italian food. Pros: food, atmosphere, free valet parking lot in back Cons: none more

Nice escape from Uptown to a lovely european style restaurant 6/28/2007

This place has so much going for it - great quality food, ambience and service. After many visits as a secret critic always does, I had consistently good meals and service. I appreciate the changes on the menu from time to time and the exciting items on it. If it's a nice day, it is an absolute must to sit on the outdoor patio. You feel as though have escaped Minneapolis and are somewhere else - like the patio of an italian villa maybe? beautiful ivy colored fences and a waterfall. Very nice. Parking is a breeze given it's in Uptown as they have free valet parking - an absolute positive. Enjoy! more

A Nice Quiet Dinner for Two 4/19/2006

After foregoing Chino Latino because we wanted to dine somewhere "calm," Campiello Uptown was a good choice. The food was good, our waiter, John, very friendly and personable, and parking a snap. Though it took a while for our first round of drinks and for our entrees to come out -- which we can't explain, since it was a Tuesday night and the place was not busy -- we were in no hurry and thoroughly enjoyed the soft lighting and intimate feel of the place. This was my 1st visit to Campiello Uptown. I have been to the one in Eden Praire -- which is HUGE by comparison -- for lunch, and never would have guessed these two places were one in the same. vegetarians beware... 3/28/2006

the worst restaurant i've been to for veggie italian food...other places have a tonne of choice...here, they offered us fettucini alfredo or a sphagetti.....and the waitress was of no use.... Pros: nice ambience Cons: expensive, small portions, not veggie friendly more

Hell's Kitchen 8/20/2005

Went for my birthday with my husband and another couple. We were seated and greeted promptly-nice beginning. Nice decor but very noisy. Martinis $9+ - not going there! Nice wine list, bit spendy, good selections. It took at least 30 minutes to get our salads and after being there for OVER 1-1/2 hours still had not received our entrees!!(good thing we got plenty of bread) Entrees were small portions-tasty-but NOT good value for $$$. We asked for the Manager and expressed our dismay with the kitchen. She said they were "a bit over their heads" and offered a small apology. After a bit she later appeared at our table again with an apology and "comped" our entrees. Don't go hungry-it will be a very long wait. And don't expect a lot for your money. Great for our 1st Anniversary 7/4/2005

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our 1st Anniversary here with great food (including good vegetarian choices), wine, and outdoor dining ambiance that took us back to our honeymoon in Europe. The server recommended a bottle of Pinot Noir that we would love to have again. We had reservations for a Saturday night, but were disappointed to find out it wasn't good for an outdoor table- we had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. Still, we would return again for a special occasion or for the 1/2 price bottles of wine on Sunday nights just to sit outside and enjoy the night together. suprisingly awful 11/13/2004

Very Nice 9/7/2004

Had a reservation ofr 9:00 pm on a friday night. Was seated promtly, after dropping my car off at the complimentary valet. Nice decor. Went there for my girlfriends birthday and was glad I did. Very intimate and romantic. Service was great. My water glass was never empty and had to be filled 5 times. Friendly wait staff. Food excellent. Very happy with my experience. My Favorite 5/15/2004

Campiello Uptown is my favorite restaurant in the TwinCities. I have never had a bad meal there. Try a main course of the Basalmic Braised Short Ribs and the steamed mussels for an appetiser. The restaurant has on-site valet parking and is situated on Lake Street so that you can do some people watching through the windows. Enjoy! ;~) Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Nice Atmosphere more

Very DISAPPOINTED in service 2/1/2004

We had gone to Campiello this past weekend to celebrate a birthday party with somewhere between 20 25 people in our group. The service at first was very attentive and fast and once we ordered it took the amount of time expected to get our food for the amount of people in our group. However the real problem came when it was time to pay the bill from the time we requested the tab until the server actually brought the tab was at least 45 min and in that 45 min the service to our party pretty much stopped and we were left drinkless and servicesless which angered pretty much everyone in the group and when we tried to find out what the deal was with why it was taking so long to get our tab we where left with no answers. Original 9/24/2003

I had had dessert and coffee at campiello a number of times, but had the privelage of having dinner there recently. The word that comes to mind when I think about my visit is "original". I eat out constantly, but nowhere have I seen beef short ribs accompanied by pasta in a simple sauce of reduced vinegar. And it was soooo good. The sea bass was delicate and melted in my mouth. Wine list, reasonable, some cute boutiquey italians highlight. D'Amico, despite my secret wanting for them to do so, has never disappointed me. For dessert you MUST have the panna cotta. MUST. I was impressed by the good service, the lovely patio, and the fact that every dish we had was tasty, including the pizza. Even the suggested wine of the month was good. I don't like the location, though the patio somewhat compensates for it (too urban), or the prices, but I can't say they are out of line for good Italian. Get someone else to pay and you are set! I'm coming away from this restaurant with memories. I had one of their bi-monthly specials: Sea bass and escarole ravioli with Mussel sauce. It was AMAZING. My little sister and mom had the chicken with spinach and mushroom risotto. It's not the BEST risotto I've ever tasted, but still nice. (For great risotto, go to Basil's). Beef ribs (Dad's choice): Wow, so tender, coming right off the bone. Martinis are fun and very strong. Highly recommended restaurant! Long Wait for Salads? 11/11/2002

On 11/8/02, my husband and I put our name on the list for a table. The wait was an acceptible 30min-1hr, so we decided to have some drinks. After 30min we checked back w/ the host/hostesse and they told us our table would come up soon. No problem..we waited about 25 more minutes for our table to find out that the kitchen exhaust system was down and that they were only serving salads!!! My husband and I were quite disappointed that they hadn't told us earlier that they were only serving salads....bummer evening at a place we normally love. more

Solid! 7/19/2002

Always tasty if not a bit overpriced. Never had a bad experience. Competent staff, creative kitchen, fun martinis, and good company make this a regular stop on my dining circuit. Not for those that are looking for spaghetti and meatballs or fettuccini alfredo. Pros: Creative, Competent, Free valet parking Cons: Pricy more
