Best

This condo is probably the best value for money in town. The location is superb, with the market around the corner, Benaroya Hall and SAM across the street, and the new Four Seas...

Worst

I lived at the Newmark for nearly two years and I must admit, everything the previous reviewer stated is true. The view is fantastic and it?s close to everything, however, he/she...

Would love to rent an apt in NEWMARK 12/22/2008

Hey....Read all the above reviews and also saw one of my friend's apts in this Condo complex. One word - Awesome. Would love to rent a place for myself here until I have enough money to own one. Pros: Nice Concierge service, views, location Cons: Cant think of any more

In a Word, Value! 6/8/2008

I don?t live here full time so maybe this impression will help those who are thinking about a second home. Pros: Location, price, value Cons: Noise for lower floors more

Nice facility, concerned about tenet hostility 4/20/2008

Citysearch has been an interesting tool over the last few months as I begin my search for my next condo. Despite the Newmark?s seedy neighborhood, it?s proximity to Seattle?s finest attractions, affordability and great amenities (best gym in Seattle, fantastic outside deck) make it an extremely viable option. I?ve considered several units in the Belltown/Downtown area, obviously including the Newmark, however after reading these reviews, I?m much more hesitant to re-visit the Newmark knowing the hostility amongst the owners. These reviews have been particularly interesting, almost comical. While some reviews seem a bit?. harsh, and others more sincere, the comment containing threats and intimidation clearly is the most damaging to the buildings reputation. Here?s a quick quote: ?? think again when we start monitoring and charging fees...so, maybe it is time for you to MOVE? This comment is significantly more destructive than a few comments about a tough building manager. Quite frankly, I?ve learned managers are best when they are tough! The tenets make the experience good or bad. That review, clearly by a tenant, was terrible, foreshadowing to a bad experience. I just thought you should know. I don?t want to live there. Who would? more

Newmark Tower 4/14/2008

Newmark is still a very good value in light of all the luxury housing that is going up in the neighborhood. We have decent gym and computer room. I am more repelled by the luxury housing infront of the Pike Market than I am the seedier element. Newmark has 24/7 doormen and they are very nice. Downtown living is not for everyone, but if you think you can handle the ups and downs of urban life, then the location cannot be beat. Pros: location, value, amenities Cons: typical urban issues more

NEWMARK TOWER IS A GREAT PLACE TO OWN 4/3/2008

Wow! The email from the disinchanted person who has lived here a year, SHOULD MOVE!! First of all, this is not an apartment building and second, the manager is the building manager not your PRIVATE MANAGER. If you are a renter, then your manager is the owner of your unit. Pros: Close to pike place market, amenities Cons: Too many renters more

If I had the chance to choose again, I?d choose elsewhere. 4/3/2008

I lived at the Newmark for nearly two years and I must admit, everything the previous reviewer stated is true. The view is fantastic and it?s close to everything, however, he/she failed to mention the high crime rate and the poor attitude of the building manager. First, nightly I was wakened by sirens and cops on their megaphone yelling at yet another drunk bar hopper or one of the many crackheads who often liked to call the doorway to our building home. Secondly, the building manager is one of the most cold, insincere, frigid humans I?ve ever met. The high turnover rate in concierges, I can only suspect, is a result of her social incompetence. As I?ve spoken with real estate agents throughout the city, I?ve learned that my view of her bitter attitude is shared by many in the industry. That?s hardly going to help resale value! I wish I would have chosen elsewhere. Pros: Close to everything, great view, affordable Cons: Older building, super high crime rate, poor building manager more

Newmark Tower Condo 3/13/2008

This condo is probably the best value for money in town. The location is superb, with the market around the corner, Benaroya Hall and SAM across the street, and the new Four Seasons hotel down the street. The amenities are great, with pool, hot tub, exercise room, business center and meeting room along with a terrific outdoor patio. Our view is southwesterly, which gives us a panorama of the sound from the ferry terminal up to Magnolia. Stunning. We have lived here over a year, and never stop being impressed with the place. And the convenience. Public transport to anywhere within steps, secure parking with attended garage...could go on and on, but when we looked at new offerings in town (almost bought at 2200 Westlake) and totally lucked out. This is superior to that place in all ways. more
