My boyfriend enjoyed brunch and dessert here so we decided to give dinner a try tonight. The staff was definitely on a mission to sell sell sell. First, our waiter recommended us to get the wine that was $58 a bottle without mentioning that they didn't sell it in glasses. Being a super detail oriented person that I am, I was able to see through that trick and decided to go with the wine that was sold by glass ($9). When the waiter noticed that we were having trouble choosing an appetizer, he suggested to make a sampler for us, again without telling us the price. We assumed that it would be no more than the price of a main course, but we were wrong. It came out to be $32. We ordered the lamb chops, which were 75% lamb fat, on a sale of 10 I would give it a 4. For dessert we had some chocolate cake and almond pudding, those were fine. When we got the bill, I was very upset to hear that the appetizer costs us $32. Why didn't they disclose this price in the beginning? Two waiters came over saying to us that it costs $14 for each appetizer. But still, I've eaten in over 50 restaurants in Manhattan, and never heard of a SAMPLER that would cost double the price of an entree. I called the manager's attention, which only brought her to tell me in my face: ""you should ask the price."" Wow, what a load of bull. Please do me a favor sip sak, treat your customer with respect, hire professional staff, don't try to trick people into buying things. I hope that's not the Turkish style!
