Awesome Pub 2/26/2003

What an amazing place to see. The layout is super. The pictures on your website is what sent me to your Pub and Restaurant. I had to see for myself the cozy rooms, the huge rooms, relaxing rooms with sofa's and all. The wall decor is terrific. The people were so friendly and what a good looking group of people and of all ages. Wow! I had a blast when I was there a few months ago. I will be back soon, as I live 2 hours away. So, being there often is hard to do. Great place you guys!! Kit Pros: Layout, Bands, Food more

Many single MEN 12/29/2002

The bar has a laid-back pub atmosphere which includes many laid-back younger, what look to be 20 something men. The ratio of guys to girls has be close to 5-1. The outside patio is definetly one to "be seen" on and the inside can be okay. It is a great place to escape the trendiness and club atmosphere of downtown and attempt a somewhat intelligent conversation. The is a bar we are talking about though, so don't expect too much. Pros: 5-1 male to female, live band (sometimes), laid back Cons: crowded, just another pub more

Now this is a bar!!! 12/13/2002

I was definately pleased with the service, the choice of draft beers, and the over all atmosphere. The bands were a great draw as well. Surprisingly, they had an excellent menu. Yes, I mean really great food!! That is very rare for a pub/bar. I plan to go again and again, and again. Pros: great crowds, inexpensive, great live bands Cons: needs better parking more

Pub Lover 11/30/2002

I came when they first opened. The service was slow and the food inconsisitent. I've been back a few times lately and they have really turned things around. The staff is real friendly and the food has been very good. They're happy hour prices are incredible. Major improvements on the bands as well. I really like the ambience and staff now. Give it a shot. more

are you going to the same place? 8/30/2002

I live down the street from Brian O'Neills, and while it is a very beautiful bar, has a great atmosphere and the crowd is fun, I have never gotten a good or even fair margarita there. I have resorted to just asking for shots of Patron instead of having to suck down a terrible margarita. On top of that, the bartenders are some of the rudest I have ever seen. One in particular is very rude and is there every time I have ever gone. I no longer frequent there too much, but I am sure if I go back, he and his attitude will be there. Pros: Nice atmosphere, Great seating, clean Cons: Awful bartenders, Rude bartenders, Bad service more

Best Cheap Eats 8/28/2002

Great Location in the Village. 20 oz. pints makes a difference, great live music venue, and always filled with beautiful women. Great Happy Hour and always a friendly staff. Pros: Inexpensive, 15 Minute Lunch, Drink Specials Cons: Parking more

Brian O'Neills' has something for everyone; bars inside and out; outdoor seating; board games, darts, music (recorded and live); area for dancing; very comfortable and inviting sofa area for converation; great food selection; TV's for the sports fans; and a great staff that makes it all happen! Pros: atmosphere, decor, staff Cons: limited parking, limited parking, limited parking more

Irish Fun 8/17/2002

This bar added new life to the Village scene. With its full menu and late night tapas plus plenty of beers on tap it's a great place to eat and be merry! Can get crowded late night on the weekends so be wary. Pros: Spacious Cons: Very little parking more

Kick Butt 8/15/2002

Love the pub. Hats off to ever built this joint. y staff more

Fun PUb 8/15/2002

i can't believe that they sell a 20oz Guinness for only $4 at happy hour. the bartender told me that the owners spent $40k on the beer system alone. she said it was a glycol system that ensures that the beer is always ice cold. also, the whole thing was shipped out from ireland. these guys dropped a pretty penny on this place and it shows. they alos have $1, $2, and $3 tapas that are fantastic (hamburgers, calamari, tacos, chips) i don't know how these guys are making any money Pros: Coldest Beer in Town, Great Bar Staff, Beautiful Pub more

Great Drinks 8/11/2002

Every weekend they seem to have the best bands. This is a very good looking and sophisticated crowd. Put your fun hat on. Pros: Great Staff, Super Margaritas more

Georgeous 8/11/2002

Village Hot Spot 8/10/2002

Brian O'Neill's managed to take the old Griff's and turn it into a nice, comfortale ar where people love to hang out. The staff is extremely friendly and the patio is quite nice on a "cooler" afternoon.. Will be great come October! Pros: Ample Parking, Great Crowd, Lots of Eye Candy more

Truly Irish 8/10/2002

I feel like I am back home. Super, super, super, great staff. What a good time. I can not wait for St. Patty's Day. Best Shepards Pie in this city. Cheers to Brian O'Neill's Pros: Cold Pints, Great Patio, Gorgeous Cobra Heads Cons: Can get crowded, parking more

I felt as though I was transported back to Ireland. The ambience and atmosphere is the best that I have seen in Houston. They had fabulous food with large portions. And the staff was super friendly. I definitely recommend the pub and will be back. Pros: Great looking pub, Wonderful bands, Great Prices Cons: 20 Oz pints more

  • The Scene
When Brian O'Neill decided to craft his pub in Ireland, ship it to America and assemble it in Rice Village, he wasn't just redefining the import process--he was redefining the Irish pub experience in America. A profound redwood storefront announces this pub from afar. Inside, bric-a-brac detailing the Emerald Isle's rich history is displayed everywhere in museum-like fashion.

    The Draw
With 15 draft beers, 30 bottled beers and enough whiskey to flood Houston, O'Neill knows that to successfully re-create the Irish pub experience, you need lots and lots of alcohol. O'Neill also knows food. Expect more than the typical finger food offered by most pubs. The delicious citrus chicken is unrivaled in its presentation and flavor. Whether it's happy hour, brunch or a weekend night, the bar's always packed with an electrified mid-20s crowd that loves to drink, eat and be merry.
