What a horrible place! The "Dr.'s" misdiagnosed my dog's congestive heart failure condition and it cost us her life. Shame on all of them. They should do animals a favor and CLOSE.

Great Clinic 12/10/2012

We have been taking the various dogs we have owned to this vet business since 1996. They have consistently provided us with good service and a caring bedside manner. We have recommended them to others, who have changed vet services to this location. more

My dog had surgery to remove a tumor several months ago, then the biopsy came back that he had an aggressive form of mast cell tumors. Weeks later, two more tumors were forming and after a long, happy life I made the decision to enjoy my dog until his quality of life was diminishing and from there I would make a decision to euthanize. I walked into Boulder Terrace a few weeks ago because my normal vet wasn't available. My dogs' condition was worsening; not eating, daily vomiting and extreme weakness. Dr. Hailer carefully examined my dog and as professionally and sympathetically as she could gave the painful news. My dog was in shock and was only going to live a day or two longer. Dr. Hailer provided me privacy to take a moment with my dog, call my family and ultimately make the decision to euthanize. She was reassuring, gentle and thoughtful throughout the whole process. I could also tell that the staff felt for me and everyone was quite understanding. Days later I received a call that my dogs' paw print was set in a ceramic mold for me to remember my dog by. I give Dr. Hailer and the staff at Boulder Terrace my thanks and my recommendation to bring your pet to these people that universally love animals. more

Re: comment by kay r - What an elitist and ignorant comment. Do you really believe that homeless and shelter pets deserve less care than pure breeds? Do you feel the same way about humans?\r Boulder Terrace has always provided us with excellent care and advice. The staff calls Lucy by name when we come in. more

Highly Recommend 10/22/2010

I love Boulder Terrace. They have a wonderful and knowledgeable staff and Audrey the Groomer is Amazing!! She did a wonderful job on my Cocker Spaniel. I highly recommend Boulder Terrace. more

A Great Place 8/2/2009

I started taking pets to this clinic in 1978 when I lived close by and now I drive across town to take my dog to Boulder Terrace Animal Hospital. In one case they referred me to a clinic with equipment they did not have which I found to be a very professional approach to solving what could have been a fatal condition. Pros: All the Doctors are friendly and competant. more

No problems 6/23/2008

We have been taking our dogs to Boulder Terrace since we moved in Naperville in 1978. We never have a problem getting an appointment on the day I call their office. The staff at the desk are always polite and helpful.\r \r We don't have a favorite vet because they are all great. Our visits are never rushed. All of our questions are always answered. Our dogs have lived healthy lives because of the excellent care and treatment we've always received at Boulder Terrace. We recommend them to all of our friends and neighbors.\r \r My daughter has been taking her dogs to Boulder Terrace since 1995 and she has always had great visits with the vets at this facility. When she had to put her last dog down they were so compassionate and understanding. She also recommends Boulder Terrace to her friends. more

not recommended 5/7/2008

I recently got my puppy a few months ago and have had a few appointments at Boulder Terrace. In the few appointments I had there they didn't seem to really look into things. The first time I brought my dog there I brought up her ears and how she would constantly through out the day shake her head, scratch, and cry or wine. The guy looked well kind of then just said that was normal, although I knew it wasn't. A few days after she started scratching and shaking her head a lot more. I took her to Banfield immediately finding out that she had yeast and bacteria infections in her ears and that I needed to start her on some medicine right away. Her ears had gotten so bad that she was bleeding from scratching so much. Therefore, I do not recommend this place. Atleast Banfield really looks into things when you bring problems up about your animal. more

A wonderful Vet Clinic! 4/28/2008

I would highly recommended this Vet to ANYONE! The staff is wonderful and the vets are very caring and kind. Our Vet, Dr. Pierson, is really a knowledgeable person and he always takes plenty of time to answer my questions and fully check over my pet each and every time I bring them there. Even when I bring them in for something very basic he takes the time to listen to their hearts and check them over. He takes time also to pet the animal and talk to them and gets right down on the floor with our big dogs. We live 40 min away and I pass a ton of vets on my way to Naperville.. but I gladly make the long trip for such great service.. The desk staff is very nice and always SOO helpful when I come in and call.I have NO clue what some of these other reviewers are talking about. I have taken our pets there for over 18 years and honestlyhave no complaints!! We have had several animals pass away from age over the years and they are always so kind and send a sweet card afterwards and they show more

Very Satisfied 3/17/2008

Don't believe the bad reviews. We've been bringing our dog to Boulder for 3 years and have had the same doctor each time. I find them to be compassionate and thorough with their exams.\r \r We also have our dog groomed there. He loves Audrey and can't wait for his "spa days." \r \r No complaints here. more

Very helpful and compassionate 2/21/2008

I recently had one cat with kidney failure and the entire staff was helpful and supportive, especially as it became more apparent that he would have to be put to sleep. My other cat now has diabetes and the staff has again been very professional and supportive. I have been late once or twice and they were very understanding and helped reschedule so even when I arrived late, a doc was available. And, despite the fact that my diabetic cat has ringworm (very contagious) they were kind when telling me even though it means an awful lot of extra work for them in cleaning up the examining room after our appointment. more

Your pet deserves better quality care 1/6/2008

This vet is best suited for homeless pets and shelters. If you can afford to bring your pet to another vet please do. Their physical exams consist of looking at your pet and saying cash or check? The office is not up to date and they have no concern for any of your concerns. They lack pet knowledge and people skills. more

They are not friendly nor do they know much about FIV positvie cats 12/29/2007

For my birthday I adopted My cat. As all cats do he was getting hairball. I took him for his wellness check up. I was running behind because of an accident on Ogden and the receptionist yelled at me while I was driving. When I got there I was informed that I would only have 15 minutes with the doctor since I was late. She was very rude to me and as I was filling out the paperwork another customer with a cat came in. When I turned the paperwork in she asked if I would move to the other side of the door to protect the health of the other cat since My cat was FIV positive. (FIV is the cat version of HIV and is spread the same way) I will point out that both cats were in carriers and could not get near each other to bite. When was able to see the doctor she seemed friendly but informed me that the vitamin supplement I was giving him was not necessary. It does nothing to boost his Immune system. I asked if there was something else I should use to boost his immune system and she said no. more

Excellent Place, Wonderful People 12/18/2007

I have 2 cats, one is very skidish and is not comfortable around strangers. The staff here has been very understanding and helpful with her. My other kitty was recently diagnosed with asthma. It was a very sad day for me, and they were very understanding and compassionate. Since then, it has been difficult to find the correct medication and correct dose for Bailey, but the staff at Boulder Terrace has been with me every step of the way! more

Caring and Compassionate staff 11/2/2007

Have 2 cats just diagnosed with kidney failure and they have been very compassionate and kind. Very customer-service oriented and professional. I highly recommend. more

Caring, friendly staff 10/24/2007

Every doctor I have encountered at Boulder Terrace has been extremely kind and caring towards my cats. I have 3 cats and one of them is very sensitive and they were just so good with her! I wouldn't take them anywhere else. more

Not impressed 10/9/2006

I had just adopted my Persian, Furby, and received a free veterinary visit. They prescribed her the wrong ointment (which I had to pay for) for her eyes and TOTALLY MISSED a very obvious, moderate heart murmur. When I called them back to tell them, I was told, "If the pet was purring during the exam, it would have been easy to miss it." I flatly informed them, "Her name is FURBY, and I assure you that she was scared to death and clearly NOT PURRING." If they missed such an obvious defect in a simple exam, I shudder to think what else they miss. Eek. PROS: CONS: Not very observant! more
