Best

Blue Mango has a huge variety of delicious items, including many vegetarian dishes! The simply vegetable soup (with silver noodles) is the most soothing, BEST soup I have ever had...

Worst

I found this place is not as good as its rating. I'm Thai, and I'm not going back there again. There are many better thai restaurants out there.

Too much hype... 11/14/2005

Overpriced small plates and superbly slow service. What started out as a much-anticipated Thai food adventure ended in sore disappointment. The spicy noodles were clumpy, the spinach and mushrooms too salty, and the basil chili chicken was just underwhelming. The tom yum soup was ok but definitely not Bay Area's best. The mango samosa is a creative take on mango and sticky rice but definitely not worth our 20-minute wait. more

Best desert you would ever have 9/3/2005

We went to Blue Mango twice, had different stuff from the veggie menu, ranging from appetizers to desert..on both occasions, the food was ok, but what makes us keep going back is their desert menu. We had Mango samosas, which was the most amazing desert for someone who even slightly likes the taste of pineapple, coconut and mangoes Pros: Inexpensive, Great Desert, Prompt Seating more

Pretty good! 8/21/2005

This place is a pretty good Thai food restuarant. The service was good, everybody was very nice and friendly, and I guess it made the food good too. more

The Best Desserts! 6/12/2005

This place has the hughest dessert menu I've ever seen!! I loved all of them! They have this new one - mango samosa. Hmmm! The place was softly colored, and the staff is really nice. I've been there many, many times, and I've seen it when it's been super busy and when it's super slow. Of course everything is faster on the slower days so I recommend not going FRI or SAT if you're the impatience type. I also would recommend NOT getting everything mild (because Thai dishes are best with a bit of spice), or else be prepared for things to be bland (that goes for all Thai & Indian food). But don't take my word for it, make your own opinion and try it yourself! My favorite dish is the Spicy Waterfall Beef - very flavorful, and especially yummy at spicelevel number 3! (any lower and it's bland). Pros: food, service, of course desserts Cons: sometimes busy more

Oh No! 6/10/2005

The food was rather overpriced. The dishes were small and were not very tasty. The Calmari seafood dish was yucky. The beef salad was bland. The SPICY & TANGY SOUP(TOM YUM KAI ) was not spicy and very salty. The COCONUT SOUP (TOM KAH KAI) was bland as well. The dessert was ok, but the best part about my meal was the Thai Iced Tea. I also have to say the service was slow to fill my water since the place seem to have 10 to 20% occupancy. Pros: Ambience Cons: parking, expensive, service more

I've got love in my tummy! 5/20/2005

Their vegetarian menu is AWESOME! Everything is so fresh & the staff is very nice! Pros: FOOD Cons: parking more

#1 Thai Resturant in California 5/18/2005

I recommend anyone with a hunger to visit this resturant. You can count on my return business. If you're ever in town you gotta check them out. Pros: everything, everything, everything Cons: nada more

Favorite restaurant in the south bay 5/11/2005

I try to make it here at least once a week. My favorite dishes are: chicken with chili and basil - great chunks of chicken, perfect blend of spices; beef or chicken prik king - great flavor, fresh vegetables, curry flavor but not heavy/oily; and stir-fried calamari w/ basil - lots of nice big chunks of fresh squid cooked up with fresh thai basil. Kick back with a couple Singhas usually, but the wine list is pretty good (and reasonable). Pretty popular Fri/Sat but you can usually get seated in 10-15 min even at peak times. Pros: Lots of lean meat, nice relaxed ambiance, real Thai ingredients more

Delicious~!! 5/9/2005

Easy to find. Great location. Friendly servers providing excellent services. The restaurant offers wide variety of mouthwatering entrees and appetizers. Comforting setting and Thai decorations are perfect for romantic dates, family get togethers, or friend hangouts. Delicious food with one affordable price. A place I would definitely dine again and I highly recommended. Pros: Great service, Delicious, Affordable Cons: Few parking in front, Can be crowded more

My new favorite Thai restaurant 5/8/2005

Ok, not exactly new... :p Great atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious food. Lots of vegetarian options for us herbivores. I love this place! Pros: food, friendly staff, atmosphere more

suprise! 4/8/2005

What a surpise to find this place. It is not easy to find, but it's worth the search. The waitresses are really nice, and the food is great! I ponder whether to share this treasure. I had the Basil and Chili with Beef and it was so good!!! The walls are so earthy toned-made me feel very warm. Will be going back for sure! Pros: food, food , food Cons: little parking more

yum 9/30/2004

i've been meaning to try this place out since it won best thai in the sjmerc. it was yummy. and it was so pretty inside. my favorite was the coconut (thom kah- i think) soup, and the basil beef. mmmm. Pros: coconut soup, basil beef more

Terrible Seafood 9/1/2004

I had experienced the worst Thai restaurant at Blue Mango. I would not recommended to anyone simply because the seafood were NOT fresh and the NOT fully cooked. I had the Squid appetizer and it tasted raw in the center. The asparagus and shrimp dish I had was the same, raw in the center and not fresh. I was not happy with the food. Although the service was good but the food was NOT well prepared. Pros: service more

Awesome Food!!! 6/23/2004

This place is great! Kicks butt on any other Thai restaurant I've been to, and I've been to a bunch. I wish they were closer to some of the attractions I like to go to..like movie theaters or Santana Row..but it doesn't matter, I'll be coming back...the food is so fresh and light, not greasy like some others..plus, the waitress's are really cute...not that it matters Pros: tasty food, calimari is sauteed, everyone smiles more

fantastic thai food 3/9/2004

This is oneof the best Thai restaurants i have ever eaten at. The service is friendly and fast and the food is simply amazing. On top of the already delectable fare they have they let you customize your order with no fuss. Also they have complete vegetarian menu with delightful options. in short.. a must go restaurant..will make for a very pleasent and satisfying meal. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Vegetarian Entrees more

excellent authentic thai food 1/2/2004

After living in Asia and plenty of trips to Thailand, I've tried lots of Thai restaurants in the Bay Area. Blue Mango is definitely the best. Great food, just like you'd find when dining with locals in Bangkok. Extensive menus, great staff, down-to-earth owners. Good Isan and Veg selections, quick friendly service. If you want to try something new, let the wait staff make a recommendation. I always take friends and visitors here. Pros: Authenticity, Service, Quality Cons: Call for Directions more

Magnificent 12/18/2003

My experience at the Blue Mango was unforgettable! Whether your tastebuds desire the authenticity of souteast asian foods in all their splendor, or you are in search of a restaurant where the ambiance and service will make you feel at home, the Blue mango will exceed your expectations Pros: Excellent food, Cute waitresses, Very affordable more

Go here if you like soup 12/1/2003

The soup here is really good although slightly pricey, but stop there.... because the rest of the meal was not very good and you can certainly find better thai food in the area. Pros: soup Cons: volcano chicken more

Great Thai Food! but - 10/12/2003

Eating in the restaurant, I thought it was some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten it was fantastic! However, the past three times that we made an order to pick up we have been quite disappointed with the food. It just didn't taste nearly as good as the food we were served in the restaurant. It's a mystery :) At any rate, I still highly rate this restaurant to dine in for it's quality of food, service, and value. more

Exquisite 10/1/2003

I heard great things of this restaurant and had to go see for myself what all the fuss was about. So I finally there and found the decor, service and food was outstanding! It was easy to find and I loved the thai tea. I had the Nad Ra and I highly recommmend it. The other dishes that I had had a wonderful blend of spices, fused with fresh vegtables and tender meats. I can't wait until the next time I go...The best Thai restaurant by far! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Pros: Service was attentive, Great Value, Authentic Thai Dishes Cons: Im hooked! more
