Don't waste your time or money here! 11/12/2008

Was really looking forward to trying this place. Definitley NOT WORTH THE MONEY! The quality of the food was definitly no where near where it should be for the price. The appetizer was a prosciutto wrapped warm slab of mozzarella on roasted red peppers that were cold...would have been OK if the peppers were warm but not worth the $11 they were charging. Ordered the $33 Seafood pasta special, which the waitress talked up as being fantastic, lots of seafood and lobster that will be presented in a way that is very easy to get to...NOT SO. It was BAD. The shrimp were cheap (nickel size at best) & I think undercooked as I was ill 30 minutes after eating it. Very few clams/mussels in shells - also small. The 1/2 lobster was small, cut in half with 1 claw still on which she told me ""they do not shell"" so I could do that myself, and full of tomato sauce (messy). I was provided a cracker and a regular fork and butter knife (no shellfish fork) to dig what little meat was there...a complete waste. It was so disappointing that I will never eat there again. Pros: Fireplace Cons: Food, Price more

Terrible Service-Would not recommend 11/6/2008

I planned an event at Bellanotte. My guests were treated rudely and were not told that their valet had been taken care of. They paid for valet and I also got charged for it! Dinner was served an hour and half late and our server had to be asked to leave. more

5 Star Corporate & Private Event Destination 8/25/2008

I plan all of the corporate dinners and events for an international restaurant chain. So I am privy to the ins and outs of the industry and have had comprehensive experience with other establishments and this restaurant is at the top of my list. Pros: Exceptional staff, beautiful restaurant, great Wine list and remarkable menu Cons: Some of the drinks are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. more

Great Food 7/31/2008

I went to Bellanotte one night for something different to eat and for different experience. They have excellent food and great customer service. The food was very good. I would recommend this place to others that want to go somewhere for some good food. more

Not worth the effort 6/22/2008

Decided to try Belanotte before going the the Guthrie. Arrived a bit late for a 5 pm seating as we had difficulty locating the entrance! The address on the web site indicates 600 Hennepin Ave, but that is the address of ""Block E"". The entrance is actually on the North side of Block E. near 1st Ave. Go figure. more

horrible horrible waiter Gerald 5/27/2008

The food was good, I had the spinach lasagna. The prices are a little high. The service started off EXCELLENT, Gerald was very attenative, but, as the evening went on, he seemed to disappear, and when he did show up he was very rude. He was short with each of us and unattenative. We were a party of 8. At the end of the meal, some of us paid by credit card and some by cash. He took it all and came back to the table and told us we were short with the cash and when we got it straight to let him know. He offered no assistance. He walked by at least 3 times while it was being figured out asking if we were done yet. He was very rude. The tip he was left reflected the service we received. Very, very rude and unfriendly to us. more

exceptional service, great food. 3/16/2008

Bellanotte is the first restaurant that has rivaled same-price dining experiences in San Francisco. The service was exceptional (almost to the point of excess), the food was excellent and the wine recommendations were perfect. Dishes were cleared and brought out promptly (despite the completely full restaurant), all staff were attentive and friendly and the entire experience felt engaging and positive. Pros: excellent service, great food, ""chic"" vibe Cons: none that I've experienced more

Nice location, not worth the money 11/23/2007

Were promptly seated and waitress was pleasant, taking the time to run through the menu. 2 in our party asked if they could substitute the pasta that came with the ahi-tuna for asparagus and were told it was fine; 3 minutes before our mains came out, she then told us they would have to charge for the sub, definitely a little late in the proceedings. Pros: Good wine selection, good atmosphere, parking across the street Cons: Poor food, expensive, agressive staff, having a bathroom attendant is pretentious in this day more

Disappointment 11/4/2007

The service was slow and it took forever to get drinks. The food was ok, but at those prices the food should be much more than ok. There is an annoying guy working the restroom too. It is loud in there too. And there were more seniors in there than young people. To cap it off the valet was slow ($10 + tip) . I had high hopes for this place; I will not be back. more

3 star with 5 star prices 11/3/2007

A 3 star restaurant with 5 star prices. The food & service are good, not great. The bathroom attendant harasses patrons & then hits you up for a tip, classy. This place may have been great back in the day but it is no longer. If you're looking for a mediocre restaurant but want to pay for a top notch establishment this place is for you. And don't worry about reservations the place is half empty friday and saturday nights. more

Best Lasagna Ever!!! 7/12/2007

I tired the lasagna for the first time this week for lunch and have to say it was the best I've ever had. It was the perfect amount of cheese, sauce and noodle. The service was speedy but not rushed and I was in and out with plenty of time to return to work. I will definitely be back! Pros: Lunch Prices more

Bella is right!!! 7/11/2007

This place is amazing! Just as name says we had a beautiful night. We were there before the Prince concert on 07-07-07. This place was rocking. They were playing Prince throughout dinner which I thought was great. Our server was amazing. Despite being very busy inside and out he never once looked stressed. For dinner he recommended their Signature Filet (which I hadI) and the Seared Ahi Tuna (which my girlfriend had) both were absoluting incredible. We also started with a fresh mozzarella app. that was fresh and also amazing. The energy in the place was so rocking that it really pumped us up before the concert. Overall everything exceed our expectations. We even went back after the concert and hung out on their patio (which is huge and has a awesome fire pit). Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a restaurant a aweome ambiance and great energy on the weekends. Pros: Decor, service, patio, energy, location, Cons: none (are you kidding) more

Great experience 7/11/2007

I went to Bellanotte before the Prince concert on 7/7/07 with some friends for dinner and had a great time. They were exceptionally busy both inside and out on their paito, but the service never lacked. We were seated within ten minutes of our reservation, just enough time to order a ""Purple Rain"" martini from the bar. Our server Chuck was busy, but attentive and very friendly. He offered several suggestions on the menu, one of them being their filet, which was one of the best steaks I've had in the Twin Cities. We managed to save room for the tiramisu, another suggested item, and it was fabulous. Pros: Parking, ambience more

Avoid if possible... 7/5/2007

I tried actually liking Bellanotte, but each time I visited it was always a less than pleasant experience. The food is extremely bland and not worth what they charge. It also seems that they have a high turnover of staff because every server I have had didn't now anything about the menu or drink list. The management is arrogant and constantly looked annoyed. It doesn't work for me and I'll be spending my money elsewhere..... Pros: No pros Cons: Parking, food quality, unhelpful service staff more

Is there a 0 star option? Horrible Experience every time I went! 6/14/2007

This is by far the worst place in Minneapolis. Rude service, loud loud, even w/ reservations a long time wait, horrible waiters and bartenders! I went there a few times, and every time it took me 1/2 hour to even get a drink, not to mention the over crowded bathrooms. Cons: Loud, Prejudiced, Crowded, Older People, Pricing, Service more

OKAY BUT I HAVE HAD A LOT BETTER 1/15/2007

I am not going to totally belittle Bella's but I do want to warn anyone who intends on visiting this ""ITALIAN"" establishment. Now this is not to say that the service can't get better but it wasn't as up to part as I had been told. 1st my friend made reservations for my birthday for 8:45 and we didn't get to our table until 9:15. That started the night off bad but I shrugged it off as the place being busy which it was. My group was seated and we had to wait 20 minutes before the waiter came to our table to even give us a glass of water. We had to ask the waiter what the specials of the day were. We ordered appetizers, our meal and drinks. I ordered sausage and peppers as well as the much talked about Lobster Ravioli. The sausage and peppers were good however for $26.00 a plate I think the ravioli should have been more appealling as well as more on the plate. The taste was bland. My party had to constantly ask the waiter for refills on sodas and water. The waiter constantly hounded us about dessert when we weren't even finish with dinner. No one ordered desset instead we went to a coffee house in Uptown Minneapolis for dessert and hot chocolate and of course we talked about the unprofessional service we received at Bellanottes. The part however that really made this visit really unprofessional was how we were able to see the waiter and speak with him more in 15 minutes once he brought us the check and needed the bill to be paid than we had seen him the enitre night. Not only was this unprofessional but when we reported his ""lack of customer service"" to his manager she reacted as if it was okay and also blamed it on the busyness. Needless to say we did leave a tip because the waiter did provide some type of service regardless to how unprofessional it was. Overall Bellanottes is not worth the hype and I hope the next patron has better service than my party received! Pros: Sausage and Peppers Cons: Service, Food, Loud Music, Crowd more

Good expensive eats and interesting mixed crowd - but BEWARE, might not be seated at time of reservation 11/27/2006

I went there for my birthday and the waitstaff was extremely friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was very crowded. The annoying thing was that although we had reservations beforehand, they still took more than half an hour to seat all of us because they were ""preparing the table"". But other than that, although it was a bit pricey (I ended up spending over $80 on my meal but that was with some wine), the filet was the best I have ever had. I tried some of the other dishes that my friends had and they were quite good also. Pros: Good service, trendy mixed crowd, good filet Cons: Reservation apparently doesn't mean anything, food might not be worth value more

THE WORST RESTURANT EXPERIANCE 10/7/2006

From the first moment I pulled up to the valet to the moment I walked out of the doors of the resturant it was nothing but THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIANCED! I work in the bar/resturant industry myself. As a bar manager of a fine dinning resturant myself all I can say is that the staff of Bellanotte should be EMBARASSED! Upon pulling up to the valet who was standing at his post and clearly annoyed that a car had pulled up to him interupting what must have been a very important social call, did not make any attempt to aproach our car. In fact we sat in the car for nearly five minutes waiting for him to stop garing at us and actually do his job, which is to park our car. From there we enter into the resturant where there was an abundance of staff chatting amongst themselves, complety oblivios to the two people waiting for a seat. We chose to seat ourselves at the bar. After seating ourselves at the bar, not by our choice, we ordered a round of drinks from a bartender who like the valet was obviously annoyed by our presense at his EMPTY bar. After two rounds of drinks we decided to stay at the bar and have dinner and a one hundered and ten dollar bottle of wine. We were ready to enjoy a wonderful dinner. Unfortunatly we received no service from our bartender or his manager that was standing behind the bar the entire time we were there and never approched us to ask how everything was. What happened is that I saw my bartender and his manager talk to fellow employees and not attend to the needs of their customers. I left Bellanotte not only upsett from the TERRIBLE service but even more upset my the fact that my bartender/server did not think they had done anything wrong. Maybe they did not do anything wrong, what they did manage to do was to do nothing at all! On top of it all it was a quiet Monday evening. I expect more when I spend that kind of money. A fast food resturant gives their patrons better service. I will never return to Bellanote! Pros: GREAT AMBIENCE Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE/NOT WORTH THE COST more
