If You Love Your Pets, Don't Go Here!! 5/17/2011

We have had the Banfield health plan for all of our animals for several years and have liked it. We used to go to the Banfield in the town we used to live in and had a great experience, perhaps that's why this is such a disappointment. more

Terrible Expensive Place to Bring Your Pets 2/23/2011

My Bulldog had a ear infection, which was obvious. I call Banfield and they told me that my dog would only cost $35 to be seen plus additional for medications. Upon arrival they told me my dog would have to be checked in and woould cost $150 just to have checked in not including medications. When I told them I was leaving to go to a diff vet who could treat my dog on the spot like they had promised they said I would still have to pay the $35 for walking in the door. They did nothing for my pet didn't even tell what kind of ear infection it was but still wanted $35 for doing absolutely nothing. After screaming at the front desk they took my dog back and treated her right away. Total cost for an ear infection (one ear) at Banfield is $220. I advise not to bring your pets here! more

Worst experience with a vet appt ever!!! STAY AWAY 2/7/2011

This was the absolute worst experience my family and I have ever had at a vet appt. My daughter and I brought my daughters cats toThe Banfield Pet Hospital on Ponce De Leon at their Atlanta GA location. We had a 9 am appointment, but weren't seen at 12:15. more

Terrible place 12/14/2009

all that said is true. Please join me in the class action. Pros: Location Cons: they don't care about pets - just money more

STAY AWAY- FAR AWAY 10/7/2009

Believe everything you read about how bad this place is. If you care about your pet, never take them to this place! Pros: Location Cons: conartists, will double bill you, poor treatment more

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP. 8/21/2009

They act like you are saving so much money on their wellness plan. This plan and company is a complete disaster. They are unprofessional, rude, ignorant, and thieves. They charge extra for everything that is "covered on your wellness plan" and there is ALWAYS some kind of fee. Every time you come in, you are talked down to by rude ignorant people who do not know proper English (MIDTOWN ATLANTA). Pros: none Cons: rude workers, rip off, they steal money.... etc... more

WARNING- STAY AWAY! 7/21/2009

Bought the pet insurance, shots included. Brought my dog in and they tryied to charge me for the shots that are included. Additionally, Dr. Freshwater, wrote orders on my dog without even seeing the animal. Pros: location Cons: conartists, will double bill you more

AWFUL experience 6/7/2008

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous two reviews. I have tried to go to Banfield for about 5 years now because the location is convenient for me. Pros: Possibly location Cons: Extrememly rude staff and below par pet care more

The staff is RUDE!!!!! 4/9/2008

I called to make an appointment for my cat to get tested for a UTI. When I asked how much the office visit and test were gonna be I got a RUDE lecture about how I shouldn't be concerned with money because if I dont bring my cat in to get tested it may lead to worse problems. REALLY!!! She treated me like if the test were too expensive, then I was just going to let my poor kitty suffer. Pros: umm, none Cons: rude people, lowsy service, overly expensive more

Worst vet ever... 12/4/2007

This place is the pits. The vet-tech's are nice enough, but I've been going there on an overpriced "wellness plan" for months and have yet to meet the actual veterinarian. The staff is slow, appointments are useless, and they try to nickle and dime me every time I come in. They have an excuse for everything and are just plain unreasonable. Animals cost money, but come on ~ they don't cost THAT much. It shouldn't be a terrible expense going to the vet, but they've figured out how to ruin the experience. It's worth it to go to a smaller, personal vet if you're going to pay as much as this place to get absolutely nothing in return. Pros: Location, hours Cons: Staff, Price, Appointment schedule more

awfully rude staff 7/23/2007

I am at something of a loss. Don't we all want to get along and have a good experience and healthy animals? Apparently the Banfield is more of a money grubbing conglomerate than a good local vet. Pros: um? Cons: rude staff, overpriced soulless service more

Ignorant staff, elusive vet, bad hygiene, hidden fees, unnecessary tests, 7/23/2007

We have taken our cats to Banfield twice. Both were among the worst veterinary and clinic experiences I have ever had. The facility smells bad. Staff are not educated or informed about the issues and services, yet the vet is never around to answer questions or have discussion about decisions. The staff is very autocratic, insisting on unnecessary tests and vaccinations, which they spring on you mid day, after you (and your) pet have gone through the trauma of merely getting there (and staying there). Recently they informed us that our pet may have contracted FIV from being at their facility. Pros: convenient location Cons: uninformed staff, non-hygienic facility, elusive vets, hidden fees, more

RANDOM FEES, NO DOCTOR VISIBLE, PETS DO NOT COME FIRST 6/27/2007

Let me begin by saying Dr. Freshwater is Great. Let me continue to say that the rest of the staff is NOT! Appointments mean nothing. You NEVER see the vet only techs (impersonal and rude at that). The front staff is rude and uncaring. Every time you try to get in they want you to drop your pet off instead of seeing the Doctor with your pet so that you have some level of confidence that something was done. The last three visits a Doctor never so much as appeared to me, much less spoke to me. The final straw was when I ordered heartguard for my dog from 1-800 pet meds, Banfield refused to release the information unless I paid a Prescription Holding Fee...SERIOUSLY! When I asked why I was not given an answer, when I called to have all of my records transferred to another vet they were indifferent. I do not recommend them to anyone, the wait times are unreal, with the exception of Freshwater the staff is rude and uncaring and mostly because the DO NOT PUT PETS FIRST! Pros: Dr Freshwater if you actually get to see her, insurance plans available Cons: rude staff, random fees, money over pets attitude more

Great Doctors, BAD office help!!! 9/19/2006

The PROS of this DMV are that the doctors are fantastic! They listen very well and are always very thorough! They are always nice and have a great bedside manner! I've never had a problem with the vet techs either! Pros: Great Doctors Cons: Bad office staff more

Would never recommend this to anyone. Staff not knowledgeable. Customer service the pits. Never even see the vet. 8/22/2006

This place is horrible. Wait times in excess of 2 hours even with appointment, but more bothersome is the lack of knowledge by the staff. Rarely ever get to see the actual vet, though I had questions;told they are too busy. Kitten had a reaction to a vaccination, but not explained properly. Asked to see the vet to ask further questions and she was rude and rushed. When picking up my kitten from being neutered, an assistant said bring him back in 10 days to remove his sutures. I questioned that the cat had sutures since my own research revealed male cats do not require sutures. Also mentioned there was an antibiotic for a virus. I asked for explanation about the virus and he said he didn't know. I demanded answers. I waited around and finally asked an office assistant when someone might help me. She was alarmed I had not seen the vet and said someone would be with me. Vet never talked with me, but another assistant said the kitten would come back in 10 days for the virus. I asked about the sutures and he said the cat does not have sutures. He then proceded to try and open the cage to the cat carrier with a dog right beside us. I asked can we please go into an exam room as the cat is agitated from the procedure. We go inside and he looked to see if the cat had sutures, which he did not. A vet finally shows up and I told her that I was dissatisfied with the service that I have received over the past 5 months. She didn't care. She was rude, calloused and would not listen to my concerns, shouting at me. She said she didn't care what had happened in the past and what could they do for me now. I told her that I was done here and would never come back. I have always had to beg for information. Twice, the heartworm medicine was expired. Never have information on meds and how to administer; was told there was no literature and they couldn't help me. The front staff is incompetent and rude. But what I can't ignore is the rudeness and behavior of the actual veterinarian. Pros: convenience-weekend hours Cons: rude, uncaring veterinarian; unknowledgeable staff more

Excellent Atlanta Veterinarian 3/13/2006

Excellent doctor. Very loving to my pets. I have visited several veterinarians in the atlanta midtown area, this is the only doctor that talks to me on a level that I can understand. Very intelligent and very concerned about animal well-being. Very caring attitude overall and sees to it that on each visit I am informed of all of the options that I have available. I have recommended her to several friends, all of which have been pleased. Dr. Freshwater has always been available for questions and concerns as well. Highly recommended by someone that had a hard time finding a good doctor. Pros: friendly, caring, prompt service more

rude staff 7/16/2005

Staff and receptionists were rude and assuming. Since staff changes it is hard to establish a good relationship with one or two people. Not a great value either. I'll go to another vet in the future where I am listened to and treated like an individual, not a nuisance. Pros: in petsmart Cons: rude staff more
