Great value, wonderful people! 12/28/2011

Note: The map on this posting seems to be wrong. The Aveda School is located near UT. This was the second time I had a cut at the Aveda School, and I was very pleased. The students are thorough, and every step is monitored by an instructor. This can slow down the process, so allow ample time (I believe they allot 90min for the cut, but double that time when you are scheduling plans just in case). I try to stop in for a cut whenever I'm in town, and when I move back to Austin this summer, the Aveda Institute will be my go-to for beauty services. more

I've tried several salon in Austin area now. Some of them are too pricey and some of them are too cheap to go in. Aveda school is the perfect combination. I always get good service and a satisfying result. I'll definitely go back. more

I was very disappointed to learn while I was already in the chair that the prices had gone up, I'd received at least (2) emails concerning my appointment but no info about the price increase & might have shopped around since I previously used the Paul Mitchell academy in Pflugerville. more

Great opportunity - students not always prepared 12/16/2011

First - one shouldn't complain about the wonders of the Aveda Institute. Inexpensive spa services with great products. During a recent visit, I wondered if a new class was starting. More so than in past visits, my service providers seemed unprepared - spending a great deal of time collecting equipment and consulting their service charts. It seems like a few minutes of prep before the client arrives would make things more professional. more

Great service 12/13/2011

Everything about my visit was great until I used my birthday double points voucher and discovered it had expired two weeks ago :( that was not a happy moment. I really did not want to continue with my purchase because I was so disappointed, but the service and help I received from the gal at the register was top notch so I followed through with my purchase after all. She even went as far as to fill out an exception form to see if they would accept my voucher anyway, Im sad to say I did not get her name. more

Affordable, relaxing 12/9/2011

First time at the salon and it was a wonderful experience. Greeted with hot tea on a cold night, everyone was very friendly. Hair cut did take a very long time, which I was warned about prior so no worries. Just make sure you have a free night. Hair cut turned out fabulous just how I wanted it. A big bang for your buck! Also, best scalp massage ever. Fabulous! more

I've been to the Aveda Institute several times for cut and color. I've never been disappointed. Even though they have recently raised their prices, it's still very reasonable. All the work the students do is supervised by instructors and double checked. Love the Aveda products and the hand massage that comes with my appointment. more

Feels like a first-class salon 12/8/2011

I've trusted my hair to the Aveda Institute since it opened and have been very pleased. The cleanliness and atmosphere of the salon is superb; the instructors are hands-on educators; and the extra attention you receive from your stylist via hand, head, and neck massages is the icing on the cake. My stylists have done wonderful work - haircuts, color, and highlights. Be prepared to stay awhile and enjoy yourself, as the stylists take their time with you. more

Open House Review 12/6/2011

I attended the open house review at the Aveda Institute last Friday. The students are wonderful hosts, the products were great and we received complimentary back rubs, foot massages and other product demos. I'm looking forward to scheduling a facial there soon! more

I had a new colorist and found her to be absolutely wonderful! She did a fabulous job and was very helpful and forthcoming regarding hair care and color care. Hope to see her next time! Receptionist with blonde chignon was below your usual standards of courtesy and graciousness. more

Lovely job, but long 12/5/2011

I always love going to Aveda because the atmosphere is profession but the prices are reasonable for a college student. Usually I am in and out in a reasonable amount of time. However, last visit I was in the chair for a whole 2 hours. I understand that they are learning but 2 hours to me says more time in a classroom. That being said, my hair does look wonderful and they made some very fine suggestions in the way of products. more

This is my fourth time getting my hair colored at the Austin Aveda Institute and all of my experiences have been terrific. They really take the time to listen to what you are looking for and then do a good job of making it happen. I am so glad I found them. more
