Best Around 11/30/2011

Vehicle problems are never pleasant. At least the staff/service at Autopia takes some of the "sting" out of these situations! I have been very pleased with the service I have recieved on all my vehicles including foreign as well as classic. There price point is within market guidelines and the service is above and beyond that of other shops! I dont trust this anybody with my vehicles and their work speaks for itself! Higly recommended to family, friends, colleagues and YOU! Happy motoring! more

Excellent service! Will return! 9/26/2011

Excellent service! I had a flat tire, they were able to fit me in right away, fixed my tire and got me back on the road in under an hour. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, I will definitely be back! more

Warranty honored 8/31/2011

Once again, Autopia has proven itself to be the best service shop. I have been bringing my 2003 Honda Civic Si to Autopia since 2004. My engine light went on; the computer said it was a catalytic converter problem. Autopia had installed a catalytic converter within the last two years. I brought it in, and the converter was replaced within 24 hours, no questions asked. I especially appreciate the attention of Dave and Steven. more

Right place, right time... 8/30/2011

Last Friday I was working at 23rd and Hennepin when I found myself looking at a flat tire on the steer axle of my work truck. In a hurry, I was going as fast as I could to unload the jack and spare. Behind me was a painter who inquired and offered to help. Turns out he was an employee of the Autopia right next to us. Offering both a floor jack and a cordless impact wrench, my tire was off and repaired (rather than dealing with the spare) in no time. I found myself on my way in less than 20 minutes with a cold diet pop in my hand! I really appreciate all the help I received from Autopia last week. Super service and really good customer care. more

Unbelievable service...and friendly too 8/6/2011

Yesterday, at the height of the Uptown Art Fair traffic, we noticed a low tire. We took it to the closest auto repair on Hennepin, which happened to be Autopia. They took a quick look at the tire, observed a humongous nail, drove the car in, patched the tire "good as new" and had us out in twenty minutes. The best part--no charge. As a result, we have booked our routine maintenance for the car next week with this fabulous company. You can see why they get such amazing reviews. more

Last minute service 6/22/2011

I noticed a screw stuck in my tire at 5:45. Autopia was supposed to close at 6:00, but one of the servicemen decided to stay late to help me patch my tire. Thanks for the last minute service! more

Extremely Pleased 6/17/2011

The service is great here... Everyone is super friendly and helpful. I have been in the shop several times and one day when I locked my keys in my truck, instead of having me wait for someone else to come unlock my truck, one of the guys there helped me out for a much lower cost than I would have had to pay with someone else. Very impressed.. I will be going back. more

Easy breezy 3/16/2011

The Spring weather is here and that meant it was high time to remove the semi-permanent crust of grit and grim on my once blue, now gray, car. Clearly an automatic carwash machine was going to do more harm than good by grinding in the dirt. inspired by the "March Special" on their kiosk, I walked into Autotopia and Chris immediately found a time to do a beautiful detailing while I ran errands.(he even offered a ride to my destination). My little blue came back with a twinkle in its headlights and a like-new interior. Every surface glistened and the doggy smell had vanished. Autopia is a definite "5" for returning a girl to "proud driver" status! more

Honest! 2/19/2011

Honest! I just needed someone to help me remove my retired license plates on my 1998 Nissan and install the new plates. My regular repair shop, of 16 years, knowing I was out of work still wanted to charge me so much money for such a little job. The Autopia emblem was on the old plate so I thought I ask them. Kind, understanding, completely honest, they charged me a price I could afford and I promised to use them again for something that really did cost real money. I will. They were so professional. Honest! more

Autopia customer 2/16/2011

I have been an Autopia customer for over 15 years. Own three automobiles with two being British so I am in the shop a lot. Autopia is an excellent place to have your auto serviced with a knowledgeable and courteous staff. Autopia has always been able to find parts for my automobiles and completes required services quickly. I would recommend Autopia to anyone in need of auto service or repairs. more

Great Service 1/27/2011

I had my car serviced here last week and they hand washed and dried my car with my oil change and they sat down with me and took the time to explain what other services I needed for my car!! Great customer service! more

Autopia=Utopia 12/12/2010

At least in my book!! I bought my Saturn SL-2 from the fellas at Autopia 6 years ago and it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned! I stay on top of the maintenance [bringing it to them of course] and consider myself [and my car] fortunate to be in such good care. Dave has always made himself available to answer questions for me if I call re: any problem, and his sense of humor is also [very much] appreciated! Autopia is definitely my kind of "car shop." Detailing rocked 6/30/2010

For the first time today, I got my 2002 Beetle detailed. It looks fantastic! They even rearranged all the junk in my trunk to vacuum. It looks shiny and new. The only down side is the slight fruity chemical smell. Even though I am sensitive, I'll deal with it because I am SO pleased. $86 was worth it! more

Best Service EVER! 11/10/2009

I brought my car into Autopia and had the best experience ever. Being a woman, I don't know much about cars, all I know I was frustrated with my car and the constant noise it was making. Not only did they fix the problem along with some other issues it was having, with my consent of course, they did a spectacular job of detailing my car! Thank you guys! I would highly recommend Autopia to anyone especially women! more

Over Sold 2/4/2009

Work seems reasonable but the pressure to do additional work boarders on dishonest. I had an idle air control valve replaced on my Honda Accord. Part cost was reasonable, can not vouch for labor. But they recommended 17 additional things they said needed fixing including a new timing belt. Total additional cost would have been in the thousands. I told them I just had a the timing belt done at the dealership. I just moved from CA where the car has been serviced since new at the dealer. They recommended two more times I replace the timing belt and other suggested work and then wrote it on my bill with the other 16 recommendations, many of which I had had recently done by a dealership that I trust with 9 years of experience. Autopia's sales tactics in my opinion boarder on dishonest. I will find a shop I can trust to work with me and only recommend things that are needed. Unless you are savy enough to never be fooled I would not recommend this place. more

not so great 3/19/2007

i went to autopia once for a oil change because i had a coupon. they were nice, but it took longer than usual and they tried to sell me more than i needed. i was also annoyed because even though they promised to vacuum and wash my car, they only did a crappy wash job and no vacuum. they also didn't top off my fluids-- i checked! a second time, i called autopia for a quote on a timing belt replacement-- it hadn't broken, i was just over the 100,000 mile mark. the guy told me it would cost $900-$1100! when i told him i knew it shouldn't cost that much, he gave me an extended speech loaded with jargon about how they have to go in and make other repairs, he'd rather quote me the high price and then change less, blah blah. i only contacted them for a quote because i had a 35% off labor coupon, but i understand they give you trouble about coupons. if you want the most trustworthy mechanic in town, go to Electra Tune on Lake St.-- i promise you they will never over charge you and they are genuinely GOOD people. more

Dishonest and Manipulative - Ladies Beware! 11/16/2005

I am a twentysomething female and live near Autopia in Uptown. I discovered I needed a large repair when I brought my car in for an oil change at Tires Plus. So, I brought my car to Autopia because it was close and they were after all, highly rated by Womens Press. Three days later my car stalled at an intersection and would not restart. I towed it back to Autopia thinking it was related to the previous repair. I live nearby and saw where my car was towed to in Autopia's front parking lot. I later received a call that my timing belt had broken, another costly repair. (Remember I had just been in 3 days prior for extensive repairs). As I walked past Autopia, I noticed my car had not moved from its spot. I was charged 100 dollars for a diagnosis, yet they never even brought my car into the shop. I confronted the salesMAN about the charge and he fed me lines that the worker wouldn't get paid for his hours if I did not pay the 100 dollars. That is the largest line of bull I have ever heard. I later confronted another salesMAN and he said that I was charged 100 dollars because they had to tow my car into their shop because it would not start. (So they towed it in for diagnosis and then towed it back to the exact same parking space in the lot out front? What for? So I can tow it someplace else for repairs? Come on fellows, my car will not start and I am a repeat customer, why not leave it in the shop? Or perhaps you never DID tow it into your shop...) I have never felt so manipulated. Perhaps Autopia provides good service for women who have a large pocketbook and do not need to question expensive repairs. more

Autopia 8/30/2005

Autopia may advertise good prices and mail out coupons, but they upsell with such annoyance that I avoid that place ever since. If you are “salesperson resistant”, know exactly what you need and are not easily annoyed, you might actually like that place – location is very convenient, and so are service hours. Otherwise, just go elsewhere. more

Mixed Experiences 8/21/2005

This is another auto repair with a checkered history. In my past experience, they have done good work at moderate prices when they stick to the plan and quoted prices. However, they have the sales upgrade mentality -- go in for a $150 repair and get bumped to the $500 or higher of seemingly needless items and service. I have heard from many friends that they are respectful of women and friendly toward their clients but you'd just wish they'd handle the service / sales relationship better and with more integrity. As a person who deal with clients in a creative realm for a long time, I known there are better methods to create trust, provide the customer with options and even upsale them if they want to go there but auto repair doesn't seem to ge this side of the equason well. more

trying to make up problems to repair 8/20/2005

I took my car to Autopia for a oil change and inspection, they came up with multiple problems that didn’t actually exist to repair. I took the car to another place to get a second opinion and they didn’t find any problems. I am glad I didn’t listen to them about the around $1000 list of repairs that I didn’t really need! more
