UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!! 3/8/2010

DO NOT USE THEM AS A WEDDING VENUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They do not have a contract for you to sign other than one that states you will not have music after 11 PM, therefore you are left confused throughout the entire process as to what they expect. We had confirmed to use the venue for our December wedding, and had to withdraw after being completely humiliated by them and all of their vendors. The first day that I met with the coordinator she said "" oh your grandmother can make your cake, your friends could do your wedding"" As I began to call the different caterers they scolded me for not knowing that they were not only all required for catering at Laguna Gloria but that they must be full service and platinum packages as required with Laguna Gloria. When I called AMOA to ask about the misunderstanding (AS WE HAD NOT SIGNED A CONTRACT STATING ANY OF THIS!!!!!!!) she began to be extremely derogatory and said she had never had a bride not understand all of this. She told me that I should know what full service means and that I shouldn't be trying to plan my wedding without a coordinator. She completely offended me and left me in a lurch! They are unbelievably unprofessional and beyond RUDE! I was left with 3 months to plan our wedding all over again with NEW caterers AND a NEW venue! As you can understand with only 3 months notice the stress this caused and the reality for availability!!!! Thank God for the amazing staff who bent over backwards for us at the Allan House! Pros: they let me OUT of my contract! Cons: STAFF more

nice place, icky personnel 7/14/2009

A well-trained chimp could have provided the ""service"" that the rentals person at Laguna Gloria did for my brother's commitment ceremony this spring: Show up to initial meeting 30 minutes late. Pull out approved vendor list and other photocopies. Make sure we know that we aren't going to be happy with our experience at Laguna Gloria unless we spend at least $20k, basically. Give stern, disapproving look when told budget for small gathering is considerably less and that we are planning something basic. Tell tale of woe about couple who did not listen to this warning, and make said couple and their families out to seem like hillbillies. Never answer telephone. Provide the most basic of information (not on photocopied sheets) about the facility as if doing so while undergoing a root canal.\r \r Guess what? Bro and his partner spent around $7 to 8k on the entire ceremony and reception, including the Laguna Gloria site rental fee (saved money by having it on Friday night), and everyone had a great time. I was happy to help them plan the affair, and it really wasn't that hard. I'd recommend it. If you'd like to send me a personal message to ask for suggestions about how to do this, I am happy to send you some tips. Pros: breathtaking Cons: icky people more

review the MUSEUM 10/14/2002

first of all, reviewers should not rate the museum itself based on their website. obviously, people get angry over anything these days. this museum has a very interesting collection representing many north american and latin american artists. their traveling exhibits are also very interesting. some in the past have included exhibits of circus art, and different artists. Pros: cheap admission, not crowded, interesting artwork Cons: small more
