DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Showed up late every time, did not fix the problem with my washer and would only come back a week later to check their work each time. When I finally demanded a refund on the warrantied parts and service after 5 weeks of them supposedly fixing it, they refused unless I would let them take the washer. Poor on site service and terrible customer service over the phone as well. Did not follow through with warranty or refund promises after their incompentant tech was unable to fix the problem. Avoid this company at all costs!!! more

NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY!!!!! Worst experience of my life with an appliance repair company. I issued payment for $212 worth of work and next thing I know, I'm being sued and served court papers and forced to pay nearly $1,000. Apparently my check was lost in the mail and they made absolutely no attempt to contact me. They just went straight to claims.....Terrible way to do business. more

Would not recommend this repair service. They cancelled twice an hour after they were supposed to be on site and offered no apology. Their charges are acceptable, but the service is mediocre. Have used them twice before this review. more

The worst! I called them to repair my jennaire microwave that had suddenly stopped working. The tech came out and spent a lot of time messing with it and then told me it would require a new part. He needed to order it and would return to install it. I paid him for his call and agreed to the new part. My father visited from out of town a few days later. I told him about my microwave. He went in the basement, turned off the power to the house for a few seconds, then switched it back on, and guess what? Microwave perfectly restored. I called paul to cancel the part and asked for a refund seeing as they did nothing to fix it, and then tried to stick me for a part and another service call. He was Extremely rude and refused. He even tried to convince me that I was still on the hook for the part. ughh. Do not use these people. more

Paul, your service technician did a fine job and charged a fair price for the part needed, however. The labor charge for 15 minutes of work was $115.00 which extends to $460.00 an hour. You can be sure that next time I will order the part myself and do the work myself. You maybe good but you are not that good and I will not pay your high prices ever again. more

What a waste of Money!! He came to my house on a Friday for about 5 minutes. He said he was not sure if this was repaireable or not (Probably not). Said he would get in touch with me Monday to let me know what he finds out and what my options would be. On Tuesday, I called THEM to see what was up. All the guy could tell me is that it was unrepairable and that someone else would contact me. Now its Friday again. No call. I called again. He basically told me that they are not interested in this anymore and agve me an 800 # to call, and, Oh Yeah, that I was charged $85 for all that great service. An A+ BBB rating?!? Where did that come from. I would say D at best. more

I've been buying appliance parts from Appliance Service by Paul for the past few years. As a ""do it yourself"" type person I have been able to call, diaognose the problem; and each time, with there help find the right part. This morning I called again regarding the agitator on my cloths washer. Within a couple of minutes I was given a part number and price. They've done great for me. more

These people are amazing. I have used them for a few years and they always take care of me. I had a dishwasher that was a piece of junk and they got it working and found a way to charge it to the manufacturer. They have parts in stock and sell them for less than other local parts retailers. I had a problem with my old drier. The lady on the phone was able to determine the problem, sell me the part, and told me how to install it because it wasn't a big enough deal to pay for a service tech. The people at Paul's care about their customers more than any thing else, and it shows in the way they do business. Don't worry so much about the trolls on the internet that think everything should be perfect (and free) and have too much time to spend exagerating their problems on sites like this. Appliance By Paul is a leader in the industry and a local company who has earned their place at the top. more

Had the parts for the job in the truck and fixed my squeaky / annoying dryer in about 30 minutes. David, the repair technician, was cool. He threw the tennis ball for my Black Lab and told me about his German Shepherds. more

I am the owner of Appliance Service by Paul. We have been in business for over 35 years. We service over 35,000 appliances per year. The reviews I read here are not consistent with our reputation with other customers, dealers, manufactures, the BBB of Utah (A+) rating, and the fact that we were the first company Bill Gephardt chose to be GEPHARDT APPROVED in our industry. They are certainly not a reasonable sample of the amount of customers we help each and every day. Pros: Highly trained technicians, very helpful staff, saved me big $$$ Cons: Like a good restaurant they are sometimes busy when you are really hungry more

I should have read the reviews before allowing Jenn-Air to set up an appointment with Appliances by Paul. I would have run to the other appliance company. I called appliances by Paul after hanging up with Jenn-Air and whom ever answered DID NOT identify himself with his job position. I have no idea how small/large this company is. I told him my concern & asked multiple times NOT to come out if this was the design of my element. He assured me it was not and needed to be replaced. When my tech, Dave D showed up, I told him of my concern & he looks at this paper, sees the make/model and tells me ""This is how it should be for this model."" He looked at it anyway, yep it's right, and decided since he was there for nothing that he'd check to see if it heats well. And charges me for the visit, but not labor, good cause there was NO LABOR! He was a very nice guy. Doing his job. So I call the office & leave 4 messages over 9 days for the manager, Dave Bowles. No return calls to me. I keep calling & talk with another Dave, manager who tells me that it's my fault and will not refund. I should have known I wasn't speaking with a tech, who told me it needed replacement. And also told me, ""Someone has to pay for the gas to get to my house and for the techs paycheck."" Incredible. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY, don't let them fool you with their ""A+ rating"" that this manager guy tried to shove in my face. I'd say F, buddy. more

I would highly recommend Appliance Service By Paul for all your appliances. I have had my washer, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator all worked on by them. I have used their services for more than 14 years and have had excellent results every time. I have recommended them to my family and each one of them has been very pleased with their experience. My 94 year old grandmother's refrigerator stopped working and they were there within 2 hours. They explained that when they receive a call for a refrigerator, it gets bumped to the top of the list because they fully understand the ramifications of food loss with a broken fridge. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very trustworthy (which is what I value most). I really appreciate that Paul, or one of his managers, is always willing to personally address any complication and they will go the extra mile to be sure my experience is satisfactory. It is good to know that there are still companies out there that put the customer first. more

We left a voice mail this morning for Tim expressing our extreme satisfaction.? Last week when inquiring about what turned out to be a rather inexpensive part to be special ordered from Tukwila , WA , Tim invested some additional time explaining the best solutions your company had come up with to solve our problem.? Apparently, certain off-the-shelf products are not appropriate for our Bosch dishwasher that became very dirty (ironic for a product designed to clean dishes).? Tim?s exact advise for other cleaning products worked perfectly and most importantly, my wife is now a happy camper and we saved a bundle not giving up on the only 4-1/2 year-old machine for which we paid a considerable amount of money. more

Horrible service 5/5/2012

I have used Appliance Service by Paul for my high end appliances that are 1.5 years old. In the first year, I had to have my cook top serviced twice, because the technician diagnosed the problem incorrectly the first time. I have had a technician out 5 times now for my double wall ovens for the same problem, every time, which is NEVER fixed. I get the exact same error code on my oven every time and they can't seem to figure out how to fix the problem. I am getting the run around by them and am frustrated that this is the company that I have to use for my warranty. If you can avoid using them, I would suggest that you do. Also, I agree with several of the other disgruntled customers that have provided similar feedback....the receptionist that books appointments is very dismissive and rude, every time I have to call. more

Horrible, terrible, no good, awful service by Paul 3/7/2012

If I could rate them lower than 1 star, I would. I can't believe how unprofessional and stupid these people are. We would change service providers, but we're using this horrible company because we're under warranty with our dishwasher and this is where KitchenAid sent us. So far, they've ""fixed"" it once already, but the problem wasn't fixed at all. The guy came back, said ""Oh, no, it's actually this part that's defective; I'll order it."" They called us up a week later to schedule another appointment, but when the same man showed up, he had no idea he's already been here once. He then decided it was a whole different issue, other than the one he'd already ordered a part for. When he was reminded of his last visit, he blustered his way through an excuse about how the part must be on back order. They called a couple days ago to schedule yet another appointment for today, between 1-4pm. Lo and behold, it is now 4:50 and we've sitting here waiting still. We called and were told that the guy is two houses hehind at this time, and instead of calling and letting us know, or rescheduling, they're decided that we can just be kept waiting. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There's no way that the people who rated this place 5 stars aren't shilling for Paul. more

NO SHOW 2/11/2012

They came recommended for my rental units. Had appt between 10-1. They called at 1:50 and said they couldn't reach the tenant. Yes, because they had gone to work. Show up when you say you'd show up. Called to see what the problem was. The woman in the office didn't apologize or give a reason but said, ""So is she there now?"". Bad service and bad service etiquette. more
