Editorial review from Citysearch 7/17/2013

Great place to board! I have 2 mixed mutts that I rescued-1 is very active and 1 just likes to lay around. Used them several times when I have to travel. It is nice to know they are safe and being well taken care of so I don’t have to worry. Good prices and friendly staff too. Highly recommend! more

Avoid! 7/9/2013

Avoid this place at all costs if you love your dog. Nothing good will come of using them. more

Good experience 8/20/2012

Having read & being concerned ab some of the bad reviews - we did board our 45lb, lab/collie, 1 1/2 yr old here for a wk. This was his 1st time ever boarded (& significantly, coming from where he's treated as much a child as the children: loved, coddled, w/ us 24/7, always underfoot - going to the austerity of boarding w/o his family). OF COURSE he was stressed!\r \r I felt we had a relatively good experience & wanted to post; also, note that the really bad reviews are older (some being very old).\r \r I compared Animal Inn directly to my vet & LV Dog Resort & found:\r \r Animal Inn:\r - $20/day, with wkly rate $126\r - Most rm w/ a 4x15 run, cooled indoor/misted outdoor space separated by doggie door, mid-high block wall runs length between runs, chain link fence from block wall up, chain link locking gate on inside (& outside?), food/water kept in inside area; well ventilated, cleaned 2x/day (I watched them hosing 1 out & smelled the bleach). I did a pop-in visit/tour & did not see soiled r more

Stitches, a drainage tube and meds!!! 12/13/2011

We have taken our dogs there for a little over a year now and it has always been great. They have stayed as long as two weeks and we have never had a problem. This last weekend we were out of town and we were not even an hour outside of town when I got a call saying that our dogs had been in a fight. Our dogs are fine together but not when they are closed in small spaces and there is food present. When we dropped them off, we let them know that they had to be in separate runs which we paid for (they have a cheaper rate when you combine the dogs into one run). One of our dogs got into the other dogs run. They say he chewed through the chain link and climbed over the cinder block wall, not sure how that happened but anyway, the Inn called to tell me about it and to offer to take them to the vet.....for a fee!! Plus we would have to pay the vet bill when number one on their contract is that they will keep "animals safely enclosed"! When we went to pick them up we still paid the boarding f more

Plus we would have to pay the vet bill when number one on their contract is that they will keep ""animals safely enclosed""! When we went to pick them up we still paid the boarding fee, after all when you eat at a restaurant and the food is bad you still have to pay, but when we said we wanted to talk to someone about covering the vet bill, they said they would try and get in touch with the owner but that he was touring Asia. It has been about 4 days since this first happened, 24 hours since we picked the dogs up and we are taking our dog to the vet for multiple stiches, a drainage tube in his neck, meds and then first thing tomorrow we are filing against them. While the girls there seem to love our dogs, any place that can't secure their animals and then refuses to pay the medical bill for their failure is unacceptable. It is a risk I am not willing to take ever again. more

Great Kennel! 4/21/2011

I decided to drive to Las Vegas with my high strung German Shepherd & board her there. I chose Animal Inn and couldn't have been happier. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. My dog was happy there - I got to pick her up a couple of times and take her out, and she did not resist going back. Also, other reviewers have complained about them overfeeding. As per the recommendations on their website, I pre-portioned my dog's food into plastic bags - all they had to do was take a bag and empty it into a dish. Simple enough to do - they had no problems with it as well. I will definitely use them in the future and will recommend them to others as well. more

No Problems 7/30/2010

My dog stayed at Animal Inn for 6 days. Although the place was a little run down, I thought that the staff was very friendly... I didn't worry about his stay there since I had a good impression with the girls who were present when I checked him in. When I picked him up, he was very excited to see me! He looked great, well fed, clean... I'm sure they took good care of him. I would NOT have a problem leaving him again if we're ever back in Las Vegas! more

Don't endanger your pet! 3/24/2010

Not sure what is going on there. We just moved here and I boarded my dogs there one time. My dog has since had a kink in his tail like it was/is broken but I didn't and still don't know for sure if it is related to Animal Inn but I never noticed it before and have no idea how it could have happened. I am his only owner and he has always been under good care, is pedigree and wouldn't have been sold for what I paid with a crooked tail! \r \r I was recently going out of town and called again to make an appointment. Someone answered the phone then all hell seemed to break loose there. A dog was screaming in pain and it went on and on and someone there said "oh my god" and all this screaming continued from the dog. Then the person that answered the phone just hung up on me. \r \r Someone I told about it said, maybe someone was bringing in a dog that had been hit? But there was no conversation by humans... Just the "oh my God" like... oh no, we really messed up. \r \r Needless to say, I w more

Pretty good, not great 3/21/2010

I've boarded my dogs at the Animal Inn a few times. They have always come back happy, excited, and pretty clean (if not a little over-stimulated). The place is not fancy, but it seems clean and they have good prices. There are many dogs barking at all hours, so if you have a timid or easily scared dog DO NOT bring him here. \r \r Overall, I would recommend the place because my dogs seem to be pretty happy and they will rinse them off if they get dirty before giving them back to you. However there are a few problems...\r \r I too have had a problem with them overfeeding my dogs. I gave them a large bag of food that should have been more than enough for the days they were at the Inn, and it came back empty twice. Clearly they are not listening to instructions on how much to feed the dogs. This appears to be a recurring problem since other reviews say the same thing. \r \r LISTEN UP ANIMAL INN MANAGEMENT!!! THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND WILL EVENTUALLY HURT YOUR BUSINESS IF YOU DON' more

UNACCEPTABLE 1/28/2010

boarded my dog there for two nights. Paid $21.00 per day for holiday boarding , $5.00 extra for playtime and $8.00 for a nail trim. When i picked her up Jessie and kenya said my dog was fine when they brought her in for nail trim, and when they brought her out, she was limping. neither had a clue as to what happened? Got her home and took her to the vet to find that her leg had been sprained. Will take about six weeks to heal. Almost one month later and my dog still cannot walk on on it. Called animal inn 3 times. Cannot reach owner. Only get jessie and kenya which is talking to a couple of rocks. Kenya claimed the groomer had been on vacation and they were not able to speak with them yet. But they do not know why they did not question the groomer the morning it happened. Anyway, I've left a message for the owner and never heard back and do not expect that i will. I really don't think they care about the welfare of my dog or they would have made a better attempt to communicate with more

Animal Inn is a poor business! 6/21/2009

Was horrible!!! My dog was in only one side of the run and come to find out another persons dog was on the other side! I paid for a full run not half! And why is it that my dogs or anyone elses dogs are never in the yard!! Why do I pay for it and I feel like my dogs never get out in the yard!... Do not ever board here!! more

a nightmare 3/20/2009

i was being checked in by the worst person ever.the manager Jessica.when i got there she seemed a little apprehensive about putting her cell phone down to help me! she was not courteous at all.she seemed to look bothered by my presence and looked more interested in playing with her phone.it took her about 25 minutes to check me in.i have been there before and i was checked in and greeted by a lovely and very friendly young woman named Kenya and that only took about 5 minutes!.i will no longer conduct business there because of my horrible experience with the manager. more

dreadful 3/20/2009

i went for a tour of the facility and although it looked good i had a problem with 1 individual, the manager Jessica.the whole time during the tour she would not get off her cell phone, she didn't really answer any questions and her appearance was completely unprofessional.she appeared to look as if she was hungover or high on drugs because she was out of it.that is uncalled for, especially for the manager.i will not leave my pet with people like that running the show! more

worst experience ever 1/5/2009

Checking into the Animal Inn was the most dreaded experience I have ever had. The girl that checked our dog in was comparable to Cruella Deville from the Dalmations. She never made any kind of eye contact and when we asked her a question, she would act as though we were bothering her. The dogs in the kennel were all barking and crying. Had it not have been the holiday we would have transferred to somewhere else. When she came around the corner to bring our dog in, she wrapped a noose rope around his neck and literally dragged him in crying. No treat. No welcoming petting. Nothing. When we picked him up 2 days later he was soaking wet because they were apparently hosing his crate down to clean it, with him in it. I would also like to add he now has an upper respiratory infection. I would never, ever bring my dog there again. Cons: service more

They care. 8/27/2008

I was apprehensive about leaving my dog for the first time. I researched several kennels before deciding on this one. Although not posh, fancy, or have webcams like some of the other kennels, I liked the fact that you could pick your dog up and take him/her with you during the day. They even have a yard where you can go and play with your dog. They seemed very understanding about the fact that my dog couldn't poo on the cement part of the run, and would take her out to the yard to "go" for no extra cost. They fed her just like I asked and they informed me when she didn't eat it all and even brought out her leftovers for me to see. I let them know that they were probably giving her too much and she was full. However, most dogs (I learned later) don't eat much while in a kennel. All of the gals there were very nice and very understanding. I will take my dog there again when I visit. more

Wont return 4/10/2008

I read the reviews to get an idea of this particular establishment. They all seemed very good.\r \r I had a bit of a different experience.\r \r While my Shepherd wasn't abused or mistreated. The staff didn't appear to be the least bit concerned with my simple requests, water in the bowl when fed, clean her when she arrived and departed. \r \r I know it sounds silly, but I wanted her to have a nice bath the first day or so, as well as just before I picked her up, they argued as if I shouldn't want to have my dog clean for the stay, and I why would possibly want her to be. \r \r They thought it a chore to give me a tour, wouldn't show me the EXACT run she would be housed in "security reasons" \r \r I paid in full for all services but when I picked her up, they forgot to add a 15 dollar fee someplace.\r \r And finally I gave them ample food for a 5 day stay, yet when I picked her up they gave me an empty container, which tells me they either over fed her, or they stole the half container of food (wha more

Animal Inn Boarding Kennels in Las Vegas 3/27/2007

I've boarded my 2 dogs here several times throughout the past 3 years and have been very happy. They don't ever socialize my dogs with other dogs so I don't have to worry about fights. The place is always clean and the staff really seem to love the all the pets. The rates are the best I've seen around town and they are easy to get to right off the I 15. It also helps to know that they have been in business in Las Vegas for a long time....over 30 years I believe. more

WONDERFUL 1/6/2007

I travel to Las Vegas from out of state and have boarded my dogs (4) several times. The dogs are excited when we arrive and do not hesitate to go through the door. The staff is extremely accommodating with taking down instructions for feeding, medicating and any other thing that I seem to need for the dogs. One dog is 15+ years old, 2 are 5 years old and 1 is 3 years old. 2 recently had surgery the last time I was there. I had no concerns leaving the dogs with them as I knew they would be well taken care of. more

The Best Kennel I've Ever Been To 9/4/2005

Animal Inn is located just outside of Las Vegas. It is a terrific place to leave your dog or cat. I have left my chihuahua here on many occasions, and she loves it. The staff is so good to her. There are separate pens for each dog, a special room for cats, and even a place for the smaller dogs and puppies to go so that they are not frightened by the larger animals. You can pay extra for a variety of services: grooming, playtime, outside time, etc. The staff is absolutely wonderful. If you're looking for a place to board your pet while you are in Las Vegas, be sure to call the Animal Inn! PROS: great staff, nice facility, excellent prices CONS: sells out quickly during peak times more
