For northwesterners you want to feel far-eastern 8/21/2005

Shiga’s Imports is crammed full of Asian trinkets and tchotchkes, some functional, many purely decorative. Need a stainless steel chopstick set? They’ve got it. Need some little porcelain china dog-lion thingys? They probably have a dozen different sizes. My wife has been buying the same sake set (a really nice one) for every wedding this year. This makes life incredibly easy. more

Shiga's is a little shop with Japanese and other Asian things. It's pretty good for a few things, but not too much of it is high-quality or contemporary. It's pretty good for some kitchen items like chopsticks (they even have some made from mulberry bark), and I've been happy with the goza reed mats that I got here as a sort of cheap alternative to tatami. more
