We've rented pop-up campers from American Rent-All twice in the last year and both times have been great. Good equipment, prompt service, friendly folks. We'll rent there again. more

I rented travel trailer and found it new and immaculately clean. The owner went over all the necessary details as to how things work. I was given a hitch to use. Once I arrived at my destination I needed to call about lowering the stabilizers in the back of the trailer. Everything worked without a problem during our three day vacation at a near by lake. I would rent there again. more

This review may be about two years late but I couldnt resist trying to help out fellow consumers after finally reading their reviews and realizing I myself fell victim to the same fraud they pulled on several other people. I first noticed a problem when I went into their office to rent a popup when they were currently on the phone with someone else who had just returned one in which they were charging additional charges for supposed ""pet hair/ not clean"". After the guy argued the consumer for appx. ten minutes on the phone he then rented me the camper and made me aware of the rules and that apparently ""people bring pets all the time and try to argue their way out of charges""! I took the popup to huntsville with my son for two days and came to return it the following monday after a complete and thourough cleaning and breakdown again. Appx 4 hours later, after they knew I was nowhere near I got the call. The gentleman who called was not the guy who rented me the camper but informed me that there was cigarette buttes all over the floor, kinda funny cause I dont smoke, he also stated that there were burnt leaves all over the floor, never burned any leaves, and that there was dog hair all over camper, I didnt bring any dogs on the trip. So I then drove all the way out there to take a gander at this cotastrophe to find a couple cigarettes unsmoked broken in half smeared across the floor, couple hairs from whoevers dog was in camper before me that they had not properly cleaned up after probably charging the life out of them too. Also did find a little dust of leaves on the floor which had come out from under some cabinetry upon pulling beds out packing away etc. I drove appx 20 miles to come assess this problem and dispute only to be screwed into paying cleaning fee being they had all my information on file and had no supplies to clean not to mention, nothing worth the fifty extra dollars which cost to clean. I hope this review will further help consumers not make a poor decision as I have needless to say I will not rent from these guys. This place may have been in business for 15 years being its located in a widespread growing area full of newbies, but this doesnt mean past consumers are coming back. more

When I got there I was very pleasantly surprised with how freindly the people here were. They told me everything I needed to know about a popup camper so me and my family could enjoy our christmas vacation. Everything was in good condition and our trip was fantastic! Definitely recommend american auto rental for anyone who's looking for a good experience. more

We rented a nice car from them for 2 weeks. It was great! We couldn't be happier. We'll be renting from them whenever we need extra car. They picked us up and gave us a ride home after the rental. They went out of their way and we're very thankful ! more

The CAMPER HAD DOG HAIR EVERYWHERE, it was very obvious there was an animal inside of pop up. Seriously, I have never seen a camper with more pet hair!! We have customers acknowledge.. our no pets are allowed in campers policy, with up to $100 charge. To deter people from bringing their dog. We maybe have 5 people a year that get charged for pet hair. (The most we ever charged someone for dog hair was $25). This was the only camper that would definitely deserve a $100 charge, but we were only charging them $50. We called and told them about all the dog hair. They denied it. So, we asked them to come look at it. They said they didn't want to look at it.......The only thing we can get from that is, that THEY KNEW THEY HAD A DOG IN CAMPER AND DIDN'T WANT TO BE CHARGED FOR THE DOG HAIR. We talked to the husband again, before we charged them.....he said maybe the kids let a dog in (his way of admitting there was a dog inside, but didn't want to admit it)..... and he was ok with the charge. Then, his wife called threatening us, saying if we charged them anything, that they would they would bad mouth us and put bad reviews like this one. So, instead giving them a break on the charge, we ended up charging them full price and told them exactly why and what the charge would be. So maybe these people have a bad memory or what. I don't know what to say. \r Out of 15 camper rentals the week that these 3 friends rented campers. Only these 3 friends either broke something (table), had dog hair everywhere, etc. I don't know if they just had an out of control party or what. BUT ALL WE KNOW, all 3 of these friends obiviously don't take care of other peoples things, and when then break or trash something........they lie and deny, because they don't want to be charged. THEY LIED TO THE BBB.....EVEN, AND THE COMPLAINT WAS DISMISSED, BECAUSE OF IT. \r We go far and beyond being fair, when it comes to any additional charges. Not many rental places even call you before they charge you. Let alone, ask you to come look at it, if you want. \r 99% of our customers bring back campers in great condition and aren't charged any additional fees. We wouldn't be in business for over 15 years, if we didn't have a lot of satisfied customers and ALL, but a couple of our customers couldn't be happier. We just were unlucky getting customers like this. We weren't the one's in the wrong. We just charged them what they did, that's all. more

Our experience with this company couldn't have been worse. We were charged for a cleaning fee for pet hair; however, there were never any animals in the camper we rented. Apparently this is a tactic they employ regularly based on one of the other reviews here. Even worse, we were told we'd be charged $50 for the cleaning fee (which never should've been charged since there were no animals in the camper), but were instead charged $100 with no explanation as to why. We are one of three families that rented campers from this company this summer, and none of us will be doing business with them again because of this incident and how poorly and unprofessionally it was handled. In fact, our experience was so bad that we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. more

Do not rent from these people! They will rip you off. We just rented a trailer and truck from them for a week. It rained the first night we stayed in it and it poured in rain. We called to let them know and they said they just had the roof fixed after another customer ran it under a tree. He asked me to pay someone to temporarily cover it until the repair guy could come out the next day. We had multiple problems with the truck and the trailer. Things broken or not serviced. When we returned it, we asked for a partial refund for dealing with the leak and other problems with the equipment. He tried blaming me for breaking the awning that was already broken. He wanted me to wait for a refund when he figured out the insurance stuff from the other customer who ripped open the roof in the first place because he already payed a guy to fix the roof. I asked him if I got what I paid for and he said yes. He said ""Life happens"" in response to the issues we encountered. Very rude and hostile. A young man renting a utility trailer overheard what was going on and whispered to me on the way out. He said that we're not going to get anywhere with these people with what they are going through. I assume this wasn't the first problem in dealing with these people. The lady was very nice, but here husband, the owner, total creep. Stay away! more

We rented pop up campers several times from American and nothing could have been easier! The campers are new and a lot of fun. I would highly recommend doing business with them. We'll definitely be back. Thanks American! more

We rented a pop-up camper from American Rental for 9 days. When we returned from our trip we swept, wiped down surfaces, and washed the outside of the camper before returning it. American Rental then called us and accused us of having a pet in the camper. They would not take our word that we did not and made us come out and clean the camper out ourselves. They were very rude about it. We had to sit out in the heat of the afternoon and with packing tape clean off every piece of hair and dirt off of the beds. It was ridiculous and we will never rent another thing from them again. There was nothing in the contract that stated we must detail the camper before returning it. You would not detail a car you rent before returning it, why would you have to detail a pop-up camper? more

After we returned the car, we talked to the owner about the incident over the phone. The owner called us a bunch of "liars" and hung up on us (a very mature person indeed). If you live in the Lakeway area, it's worth the hassle to drive into town to rent a car from someone else. more
