Apps were very good 3/4/2011

I was only at the Bar , but the apps were very good . I would guess looking into the colossal "" Cabaret Room "" that things might be a little different in there more

It's like stepping into another country 3/3/2011

Walking into Alhambra is like stepping into another country, like walking into a tale from the Arabian Nights. One's eyes are delighted by the delightful, fanciful and opulent decor. If you can't take a vacation, take a trip to the wonderful world of Alhambra. The food is good Middle Eastern fare, not exceptional, but the atmosphere makes up for that. And the belly dancing spectacle is amazing. more

Outstanding, romantic & relaxing 3/1/2011

Have visited this restaurant several times. Outstanding, romantic & relaxing more

The food was very good 2/28/2011

Our server was excellent. Our orders were brought quickly & although we finished our meal before the entertainment started, we didn't feel rushed to leave. The food was very good. We had the Batata appetizer, the Filet Mignon, & the Penne Alfredo. The restaurant itself was gorgeous The flamenco dancers were very entertaining. Overall, it was a great experience & I would recommend it to anyone wanting to do something out of the ordinary. more

All I have to say is MAGNIFICENT!!! 2/10/2011

Absolutely Amazing!!! My boyfriend took me to this place last week for our 3 year anniversary, I was first kind of skeptical of going because of the reviews and from my previous experience. All I have to say is MAGNIFICENT!!! I first started with the Alhambra martini then we accompanied that with their delicious hummus. But before we got to our dinner portion our waiter allowed us to enjoy the live entertainment and I guess on Saturday nights they always have a live singer and a belly dancer as well a girl that passes out roses. After the first song we had a hard time choosing our main course so our waitress suggested we try the Alhambra platter which was absolutely amazing!!! After dinner the owner came to our table and wished us a happy anniversary and brought us a chocolate like pyramid which topped off our evening. This is now one of my favorite places and the decor is by far the best in Chicago or maybe in the world.... I'll be back soon since I saw that they have a nightclub upstairs can't wait to take my girls here!!!! more

Totally loved Alhambra!!! 2/4/2011

I attended on a Tuesday for an after work bite to eat. I would comment on the decor but a large number of the review already described it well. Very Royal and Beautiful. I decided to try something light so i chose the Shrimp Caesar Salad. One thing i usually hate about ordering a Caesar is the lack of dressing and meat. When my salad came out it was made just how I like it as if they had read my mind. Just the right amount of dressing, The largest pieces of shrimp. Loved it. I'm definitely coming back next time for a real dinner and check out the Salsa lessons that were starting up around the time I had to leave. Totally loved Alhambra!!! more

I am truly amazed with everything about this place 2/3/2011

This Place can't get any better. I am truly amazed with everything about this place. Lets start with the host, the young man is very polite and greet us with a smile. the server was quick and helpful . Food was great we ate the beef and vegetable kababs , they were very juicy and tender, the seasoning on the veggies was awesome. The music was bit too loud but tolerable. The prices are the same as anywhere else. The really like this place and we will be back more

Great Food, Great Decor 7/27/2010

I love Mediterranean food and the one at Alhambra is simply splendid! Combined with the decor, the entertainment, and the sheer size of the place, it make for a great night out - both with a group of friends, as well as a romantic night out with my wife. Very highly recommended! Pros: Awesome food, great looking place more

Great Chicago Restaurant 7/27/2010

I went there with a bunch of friends for dinner and we simply had a blast! It was a live entertainment night with belly dancers. We ate a lot - a little too much for our own good to tell the truth, but we simply had a blast!!! The place REALLY looks like a place! Pros: Awesome Arabic Food, Belly Dancers more

I have never been treated so poorly in my life 1/14/2010

I had the misfortune of visiting Alhambra Palace for NYE 2010. Standing outside in freezing weather for 20 minutes to get in after paying $120 for a ticket, waiting 20 minutes to get a drink, wasting half the night trying to get close to a bathroom, being treated rudely by the entire staff, horrible food...these were all minor flaws in the night. Alhambra Palace provided 2 ""coat checks"" that night. At 1 am I returned to the coat check employee, gave her my ticket, and she returned to me and said, ""I don't have your coat."" There was no explanation to where the coat may have gone. There were no signs stating that Alhambra Palace was not responsible for any missing or damaged items. I talked to many employees asking to see a manager, but no one would help me. I was then told that the coats were taken to the 1st floor and thrown into piles on top of the tables. I went down to this room to find that there were coats thrown all over the room in no order, and that people were shuffling through them to find whatever they could. I went through all of the coats multiple times for a period of one hour to no avail. At this point a giant fist fight was occurring in the adjacent room in response to the coat situation. When asking employees what to do, I was told ""If you can't find your coat, take the next nicest one."" That is exactly what most people did, but I decided not to steal and left without a coat to go search for a cab in the 5 degree weather. I am still fighting the restaurant to have my $500 coat replaced. The entire night was disgustingly negligent and a complete disregard for the belongings of paying customers. Managers and employees have been of no help even though they have admitted that they are at fault. I honestly believe the coat situation was an inside job, so if you don't want your things stolen, I wouldn't recommend going to Alhambra Palace. Pros: The restaurant does look nice Cons: Horrible food, horrible service, stolen belongings more

Pretty Restaurant.. but Awful food, service, and events 1/6/2010

I've been there for dinner and also for an event. Dinner was a let down. The service was slow, and every time we asked for something, it took at least 20 minutes to get it. The food was disappointing as well. I absolutely do not recommend coming here for a good meal unless you want an expensive, unsatisfying meal.\r \r Events- do NOT hold your event here. The event went until 2am... and they ran out of ice at 11pm, vodka by 12am, and the food tasted like it came straight out of a school cafeteria or the frozen aisle at dominicks. They were soo unorganized it was unbelievable. I knew the guy who was in charge of organizing the event, and he said the management at Alhambra wouldn't even take responsibility for their mistakes and failure to comply with their agreements. Pros: Elaborate on the inside.. but borderline gaudy Cons: Terrible service, food mediocre, events terribly unorganized more

This place should be shutdown 9/14/2009

We went there last weekend and the place was an absolute nightmare. the food was practically raw and tasted horrible my wife became sick after we left. the waitresses didn't care about us nor the staff.. we asked to see the owner to tell him our complaints, they informed us that he was a little busy and will soon come to our table.. needless to say he never came.. but when we asked another member of the staff where the owner was they told us that he wasn't there. OMG if you want to be ripped off and get sick from the food and the service, then go there.. Cons: everything more

After reading the reviews, I decided to ta a chance (felt adventurous). Must admit I was very impressed with \r the whole scene. Beautiful Place, food was very good, I must admit I was surprised with this one. Service was fast and the server was very polite (Tim) The show is amazing ! The only thing that can improve a bit was the bar, I ordered a margarita, I expected a frozen margarita, I got the mixture not to crazy about that. Then I danced all night long my feet still hurt.
