Advanced Metropolitan Dentist: Martini Jurga DDS

Beware! Wow. I wish, I would have read the reviews for Advanced Metropolitan Dentistry before I started seeing Dr. Martini 3 years ago. I have pretty much had the same experience as many of the other reviewers. \r \r The positives first, the office location is very convenient in Downtown Seattle, and the facilities are nice, besides the florescence lighting. They offer spa like hand dips, neck warps, and a nice selection of beverages before your appointment.\r \r The negatives, Dr. Martini's team is constantly trying to up-sell you on dental services that aren't covered by insurance. As an example, the hygienist cleaned my teeth, and then at the end of the cleaning states its time for your Fluoride treatment. The hygienist doesn't mention that it isn't covered by insurance. You get a bill in the mail for it after the appointment. As another example, my partner recently had his wisdom teeth removed - While quoting for the services they added $300 for a must have laser treatment for his gums to ""help heal"" which isn't covered by our top-notch insurance. The office also pushes additional follow up appointment that aren't covered, nor necessary. The way the office presents the up-sell services makes you feel somewhat guilty for not agreeing to it.\r \r If you're from the East Coast, and can be very direct and say no, you'll be fine with this office, and/or you have extra cash to spend on dental services that aren't necessary, you will love this office. You will need to be an educated consumer on dental services to know what is really necessary and what is not. And as others have stated, always get a second opinion if you aren't sure!\r \r I would recommend finding a dentist that is really interested in your health, and general well being, and is not just looking at you as dollar signs. ""Advanced"" really just means spending extra money. Save it for a relaxing vacation! more

I have been living in several places in the past decade and after my first visit, the list of all the things that needed to be done to my unhealthy teeth/mouth was nothing I had not heard before from the other dentists I have had in the past. I had just decided to not listen and postpone this overdue care until it became apparent that something needed to be done...and possibly too late.\r I don’t believe they are trying to push for un-necessary treatment, but rather inform you and document. Ultimately, you will decide what you want done. \r With the help of the doctor and the hygienist, I have developed a long term change in my oral care habits and start seeing the benefits. In the long run, my teeth will be healthier, I know that for sure.\r Dr Martini may not be the warmest, fuzziest person, but I am not here to make friends and just want a doctor to trust. Looking at all the latest cutting edge technology available there, the apparent updated education, and what she has already done with my teeth, I believe Dr Martini is a doctor I can trust.\r more

I want to take a moment and share my experience about Advanced Metropolitan Dentistry. \r The office is beautiful and serene. The staff is wonderful; Dr. Martini is very kind and gentle dentist. She is attentive, listens and answers all questions as well as takes the time to explain things. Her staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome and comfortable. \r I live in Redmond, but gladly drive to Seattle for my appointments. The quality of Dr.Martini's work is outstanding. I would highly recommend Dr. Martini and staff to everyone. The office is well designed and has a welcoming ambience. Email reminders are great and I like the fact that you can confirm online. Dr. Martini is continuously educating herself on the latest and greatest technology and sends out newsletters with specials and other helpful information. If you're in the market for a great Dentist, look no further! Dr Martini and crew are the best I have ever found! From the modern atmosphere to the friendly, professional environment, they are second to none. On 2 occasions, I have had crowns fail that were put in by a past dentist and each time I had the problem was on a weekend. Dr Martini made herself available and repaired the other dentist's poor work......I've not had a problem since!!! I can't say enough good things about a Dentist, and I've never enjoyed the dental experience in the past!!! You'll be impressed with the service, commitment and great team that you will find at Dr. Martini's office. I had root canal treatments, regular check-ups and teeth cleaning and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend Dr. Martini's office. The team takes great care of its patients and what's really important to me is that problems and treatments were explained to me. I attended Dr. Martini's clinic recently and had a wounderful experience. Dr. Martini is a very knowledgeable, caring and sensitive doctor, willing to take extra step for patient's care. Clinic is the state of the art dentist office, that made me feel like I am resting in a spa, rather than having procedures at dentist office. \r They have the newest techniques and equipments, Dr. Martini's staff is very nice and caring, providing excellent patient care. They put me at ease, I not fell any pain, and they did the work quickly. Dr. Martini diagnosed me with grinding teeth problem and recommended to wear nightguard. \r Since I started to use nightguard, my chronic headaches were gone, that I was suffering for many years. \r I would strongly recommend Dr. Martini, she will be the only dentist you will be going to for the rest of your life more

I went in for a first time appointment which included full x-rays, a consultation with the dentist, and a cleaning. The appointment lasted 1 1/2 hours!\r \r After the x-ray guy was done, he left without telling me. I looked over to see he was with another patient.\r \r Then the dentist came in. She was all business and very unfriendly. She asked me what age was my child. I smiled and said 2.5. She snapped out, That's such a horrible age!\r \r During the exam, she barked at me to open wider. She told me to bite down on this instrument ? didn?t tell me why - I had to ask. When I bit down after she told me to bite, she yelled ""No, ONLY bite when I TELL you!"" \r \r After the exam ended, she didn't go into any detail. I had to ask her basic questions about receding gums. She sternly said, ""I don't know, I'm not an expert. I give you referral."" Which she NEVER did. \r \r Then I got the 4 thousand dollar estimate from the business manager. 825 for a filling and crown. After she left, they left me to sit there for 10 minutes or more while I waited for the hygienist.\r \r To my horror, the dentist did the cleaning. She didn't use a suction, so I had to swallow the scraped off plaque. This cleaning HURT. It was a gut-wrenching, white knuckle cleaning. \r \r After it was done, she left without acknowledgement. I sat there for a while, upset and angry. So I decided to leave, without finishing the flossing + polishing.\r \r Then I got out of there. Fortunately, the insurance will cover the cost of the visit. I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER have this dentist or dental office touch me again. Also, NEVER, EVER, EVER bring a child in to see this bad dentist. You'll give your child a fear of dentists and if you go, you'll develop a fear of dentists too. Pros: None at all.
