I LOVED the live music and the ambience 5/5/2012

I LOVED the live music and the ambience was nice. The menu we were given was the winter menu they were phasing out before beginning their spring menu. I ordered a filet mignon. It was large, over 8 oz and wasn't anything like something you would have at a high-end steakhouse. My friends ordered a ravioli and duck dish. Both were delicious. Our server was great and I would definitely come back again for a weekend night. We dressed in semi-formal attire. They also have a bar downstairs if you aren't in the mood to move around much after dinner. more

Blew my Mind! 8/24/2011

Wow! 1515 was both elegant and quite possibly the best food in Denver. You know the kind of dinning experience you tell your buddies about for the next few weeks. In addition the staff was both kind and attentive. Gene, the owner I believe, explained how each dish was prepared using new innovative techniques. I found this fascinating. 1515 is a winner and I will surely return to see what else they have in store shortly. more

YIKES 6/17/2011

Lets start with the positives... The dessert was excellent, and my steak was cooked perfectly. The manager was very attentive (sometimes too attentive). Other than that the experience was a bust... burned crab cakes, under cooked salmon (which tasted like it was previously frozen) , over dressed salad, cold and oily pomme frittes, and even the bread on the table, though warm, seemed like a brown and serve loaf from the store. We came for lunch so perhaps the dinner crew is better. more

Most Innovative Cooking in the Area 1/17/2011

We viewed the menu online and immediately reserved. Wildly innovative cooking using modern techniques like molecular and sous-vide. We went in a group of five, so that we could try as many dishes as possible. All 3 versions of duck in ""Duck Three Ways"" were bursting with rich flavor, the Beef Carpaccio with Lobster Tempura and Truffles was truly to die for, the Wagyu Beef you cook on a stone was of the best quality and what a fun presentation! The desserts were incredible and creative as well (deconstructed strawberry shortcake, milk chocolate cotton candy!) Enormous and reasonably priced wine list. Gene Tang is a wonderful host - personable, knowledgable. A perfect experience. more

Best Meal in Months! 11/22/2010

My husband and I went on Friday night for drinks and a quick bite at the bar for a trial run before we committed to a full meal in the dining room. The bartender Paul, was warm and inviting and made a Sangria Martini that will make you slap your mama! We settled in and order a couple of appetizers, (Wagyu Beef & Procuitto/Melon/Handmade Mozz/18yr Balsamic) AMAZING!!! Gene Tang, the owner came over and chatted about the dishes, and insisted we try the Carpaccio. Now, my husband likes his meat well-done, but he tucked into this plate and loved it! After speaking with Mr. Tang at length about the restaurant, it is clearly apparent he loves and respects his chef. The Scallops (me), Duck Salad (husband) was the best food we have eaten since moving to Denver. Dessert did not disappoint, (cotton candy anyone?) We left 2 1/2 hrs later vowing to be back in the dining room soon. This is a place for people who are truly interested in eating innovative and tasty food. It is a restaurant that can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want. more

Spectacular Food, Amazing Service 3/19/2010

This was without a doubt the best meal I have ever had. The food was truly amazing on every level. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, and the taste was unbelievable. They combined flavors in ways that brought out the best in the food and everything was cooked and served to perfection. The wait staff was wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. Without a doubt this is one of the best, if not THE best restaurant in Denver. Pros: Food, Atmosphers, Service Cons: Parking is interesting more

excellent burger 2/18/2010

i have been to restaurant 1515 a hundred times for drinks, and usually i know the bartenders by first name, they are social and exited to see me. last experience, this was not the case. they had a new bartender named mechelle who happened to be more concerned with ignoring me than serving me. I ordered the 1515 burger like i have a hundred times, and it was excellent as always. i come in with pretty large groups usually, this time i didnt thank god. She kept wandering off to the empty side of the bar instead of serving me at all. i would have to approach her for every drink refill. she seemed soo annoyed at having to be there that i became annoyed, and when i addressed her she was rude and despondite so i finished my food and left. typically i would have 4 or 5 drinks, but i could barely squeeze two out of her and i was getting ignored. sad this happens, i usually love to chat with thier other help. this time, not soo much. That is enough complaining about one indavisual, the food is quite excellent and the drink specials are awesome, this is usually my favorite spot. will definetly be back but if i see mechelle behind the bar, i may think twice about going in. Pros: food was excellent, usually much more polite service Cons: service more

Don't Miss This One! 1/10/2010

This is the best restaurant we have been to in Denver. Customer service is excellent, with the owner Gene actively involved with the entire dining experience, and personally greeting customers. Food was perfect in all respects...taste, temperature, seasoning, and presentation. Very nice atmosphere. Also, they accomodated our last-minute reservation for 2 without any waiting time. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great high-end dining experience. Pros: Great food, great service. more

Extraordinary Service 1/4/2010

Our waiter greeted us promptly and was well-informed about the menu, including specials, and the wine list. After presenting and pouring our bottle, he refilled our glasses promptly but discreetly throughout the night. He was accomodating and amusing when we asked him questions, but respectful and discreet while we were talking - which, for me, is critical for servers to understand. Additionally, the owner himself greeted us after our first course to ask how everything was. Pros: Attentiveness more

Exquisite dining experience! 11/4/2009

We've been to 1515 Restaurant twice and both times it's been a wonderful experience! The menu, the wine list and the service are all top notch. Gene Tang and his staff work hard to make sure you are pleased with every aspect of your visit. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone! Pros: Fabulous food, outstanding wine list, excellent service more

The best Food and Dining experience in Denver! 10/7/2009

For the first time ever I had dinner at 1515 Restaurant. The experience far exceeded my expectations, awesome presentations, delicious food and fabulous wines. 1515 Restaurant is a treasure to behold! I was fat with satisfaction in every area of my dining experience. Pros: Awesome Food & Wine more

Over priced and over stuffed 7/31/2009

The hotel recommended this place and billed the menu as Americana. There was nothing American about the menu, they didn't even have a chicken option. Everything was over thought with far too much effort put into making it fancy. There were five of us in our dinner party and I was the only one whose dinner was edible. That was because I told them to leave the c**p off and just give me a steak. They even had the nerve to ruin perfectly good chocolate by mixing it with foie gras, Sacrilege I tell you!!!! Pros: Staff was friendly and attentive Cons: Menu choices were limited and unappealing more

the food is simply amazing 6/26/2009

I stopped by 1515 restaurant this week for lunch after hearing great things from a friend, and it turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. Our server suggested that I order the kobe burger with a side of black truffle mayonnaise, which turned out to be the best burger I have ever had. I'm currently on a low carb diet, so I ordered the burger without a bun; however, the meat was so succulent that I forgot entirely that I was missing out on the bun. The burger was topped with pancetta and brie cheese, which were excellent alternatives to the standard bacon and american cheese. The black truffle mayonnaise was absolutely delicious. My wife had the seared salmon, which turned out to be delicious as well. Overall, the service was perfect, and the manager (cindy?) was very friendly. My wife and I will certainly return again. Pros: great food, great service more

I can't believe I haven't been to 1515 before 3/26/2009

I have lived in Denver for a while and I was quite impressed and surprised by 1515 as this was my first visit. We went with the tasting menu (with wine pairings) and could not have been happier with every course. The service was not only thorough, but our waiter was quite knowledgeable about every course. Not just with the standard presentation that is to be expected with a tasting menu, but with follow up questions we had as well. The wine parings were creative and well done. I would put the food on par with some of the best meals I have had: creative, well presented, and some amazing combinations of flavor and texture. I would recommend 1515 to anyone and will certainly return again. Pros: The tasting menu was fantastic Cons: None in my first visit more

Absolutly exceptional 3/10/2009

Best Kept Secret...Not For Long! 2/25/2009

As most of you know, it is Restaurant Week in Denver, and it is my favorite week of the year! While the economy may have lowered our moods and our disposable income, this is the time that we can celebrate the fine cuisine that Denver has to offer and keep a bit of money in hand. It appears that Denverites are taking advantage of the amazing meals offered around town this week for only $52.80 for two ($26.40 for one). I have had a difficult time getting reservations at many restaurants. I was, however, fortunate enough to dine at a place I didn't even know existed until tonight. It is called 1515 and it is on Market and 15th in downtown Denver. The bar is on the ground level and one only needs to go upstairs to get to the dining room. The ambiance is lovely--urban chic, and the food is to die for, eclectic contemporary American cuisine! We had five people serving us all evening including the owner, Gene Tang, and the manager, Cynthia Aceves. The staff is some of the best I've found in this town and the menu for Restaurant Week is surprising and delicious. The restaurant's normal fare is even more so with Chef's Choice prix fixe, 5 or 7 course meals, with or without wine pairings, for cheaper than you could imagine. Oh, and have I mentioned the food is amazing? They even offer a wine pairing with the $52.80 menu with each course for only $15 more! Pros: ambiance, food, wine, service Cons: confusion over the bar on the main floor and not seeing the dining room right off more

Fine cuisine 1/9/2009

1515 was a great dining experience. It is a great place for a date! The service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend getting the chef's tasting menu. We did the 5 course meal which had a great sampling of the chef's creations. The chef trained in Paris and also worked at Everest in Chicago. The food was fresh and creative with great flavors. I would recommend this restaurant! Pros: Great service, great date spot, the cuisine! more

Great special occasion spot 10/2/2008

Four of us tried 1515 for the first time earlier this week. We were celebrating our friend's birthday, so we splurged and enjoyed the five-course chef tasting menu with the wine pairing. All I can say is ""FABULOUS!"" From start to finish, each course was better than the last. The unusual flavor combinations were surprising and felt like fireworks exploding in your mouth! The dishes were well balanced and the portions were just right - there was enough to enjoy the outstanding flavors but we did not leave the restaurant feeling ""stuffed"" at all. The service was second-to-none as well - our head waiter (Matthew) was very pleasant and definitely knowledgeable about the food. He took our ""special requests"" without a second thought and passed them along to the chef. Other members of the staff also pitched in to offer seamless service. We certainly did not want for anything throughout the meal. I would definitely recommend 1515 as a place to go for a special occasion. I'm looking forward to going back and trying something from the ""regular"" menu - I'm sure I will not be disappointed! Pros: Excellent food, superb staff, free parking tokens available Cons: nothing more

Elegant Food in Comfortable Setting 8/22/2008

1515 was an incredibly enjoyable dining experience for our anniversary with some of the most elegant food preparation and competent wait staff in Denver. Pros: creative preparation, comfortable setting, location off 16th Street Mall Cons: I have been in Denver for 10 years and never heard about it more
