I went to Vert because of the 2007 Pellegrino Dine Out USA fundraiser. You get a 3 course prix-fix menu for $35, which actually is about the same amount of money you would pay for it you chose the same items from the regular menu. I just wanted to try it since you get a free bottle of Pellegrino. I had a pasta and shrimp dish, and my boyfriend had the 1/2 chicken. My pasta was tasty, but I thought that I would get more pieces of shrimp. I like the free bread and cheese spread. The bread is just like those served at Spago's. Other than the slow service in the beginning due to a large party backing up the kitchen, I would say the service was pretty good. The brought us the menu and drinks promptly, and right after our salads were taken away, we received the main course. The butter lettace salad was good! I don't usually like salad. Since the service was slow in the beginning (and they knew it), our waiter apologized and offered to get us a bottle of wine, which was really generous, however, my boyfriend and I just wanted our food. For dessert, I chose tiramisu, as part of the prix-fix menu. It was very good compared to some other ones I've tried at restaurants. Overall, I would come back to try other dishes on the menu and maybe a cocktail.
