Shea's is a real theatre experience unlike any you may have had if you have not had the opportunity to be in a nostalgic setting as this. The lobby is opulent and impressive. Portraits of all the greats grace the walls as you sip a drink and dream of how people of yesteryear must have had 'the life'. Yet here you are living it yourself! Centrally located in a thriving nightlife theatre district, you will be happy to know you can talk to any person next to you at any of the bars and restaurants and come to know that Buffalo is indeed the 'city of good neighbors' it is promoted to be. Rail transit lets you off at the front door!
Pros: Great charm

This is a great place for live theatre. Many local small shows are held here. You may have not heard of the shows but trust me they are all mostly great. This is such a beautiful structure inside. This is a very small venue so there is not a bad seat in the house. The Buffalo Irish Center is a very underrated venue.

The Buffalo Yacht Club is one of those places that you may think everyone that belongs has a chip on their shoulder or nose stuck high in the air. But that is not the case. I do not belong to the Buffalo Yacht Club but have been invited on several occasions by a friend. The facilities are always kept clean and attractive. Most of the people I met here were very friendly and talkative. Unfortunately there are always some sour apples in almost every group. So not everyone is totally friendly.

Don't be fooled by the store's names. Even though the store does sell Greek (Fraternity and Sorority) attire and items, it also sells cheap used textbooks. It's one of the best bargain bookstores in the city for college students looking to save a buck or two. Stock and selection of used textbooks can be limited. This is due to the amount of students selling back their books. Either way Greeks & Sneaks offers the best price. You can call in and ask whether they have the book you are looking for and they can hold it for you. Located just 5 minutes away from UB's South Campus this bookstore is a good find.

The Best Church in the area. It is getting bigger and better. I love the 2 new Pastors that are there. They are great. They talk about the true word of God. The choir is excellent. They are the best. It always uplifts my spirit. They have 3 services on Sunday. One at 9am, 11 am, and 4pm. You can watch the local Sunday Morning Service on one of the local stations every Sunday at 7am. I'm not sure which channel. Its channel 2, 4 or 7. I like the 4pm in case I sleep in and then I don't feel the need to get as dressed up. Especially if its a cold blizzardy morning. I am there to hear Gods message. The Pastors share a wonderful message and talk of the book. The word of God. Last year they had a wonderful Easter Service based on the Passion of the Christ and that was excellent as well. They had that at UB in the auditorium. That was Easter 2004. I didn't care for that auditorium as it was too steep but the service was excellent. Very powerful message. Parking isn't the best at the Chapel but thats because it is growing fast and a large number of people attend there. More people continue to come. Parking is also better at the 4pm service. They offer a number of groups and different classes you can take. I really enjoyed being a member there. Oh and that choir is really really good! I love the sermons and I love the choir.
I think the Chapel is the best!

I have been taking my child to this practice for close to 4 years and am pleased with the overall care she has received. There are 4 doctors and 1 nurse practitioner in the group so you definitely can find the doctor that you most feel comfortable with. I have never waited more than a few minutes for any appointment and usually they are very speedy at returning phone calls. In short, they are a great choice if you are looking for experience and an efficient staff.

More
This museum is definitely worth the visit. Among other things, the permanent collection includes Millard Fillmore's Carriage and the gun used to assassinate President McKinley. Some of the permanent exhibits are getting old and should be reworked. The building (one of only two buildings from the Pan-American exhibition) is falling into desrepair because of its lack of funding, and portions of the basement that could be used to house new exhibits are closed to visitors. The other remaining building from the Pan-Am is/was (I'm not quite sure) on display in the resource center on Forest Avenue. Kids will especially enjoy the Rail Barons' model railroad that operates during the winter. Also, its resource center on nearby Forest Ave. was recently opened to the public for the first time. All in all a wonderful experience, and a great place to look deeper into the culture and legacy of the Niagara Frontier.
Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly Staff
Cons: Old exhibits, Building in disrepair

Vive is truly a great place for refugees. It is a very modest organization, relying heavily upon donor contributions. Vive takes in refugees, provding them with a place to stay, amenities, legal aid, and any support they can provide them. They assist them in seeking protection under the Geneva Convention in Canada and the US.
Vive is very welcoming of any and all visitors. They have open houses so that they can share with you their vision and the work they do. They want you to meet their community, which consists of all staff and refugees staying at Vive.

I know what you are thinking, I would never go to a thrift shop. I thought I never would either, but I was recommend by a friend to go and just check out the different kinds of things they had in stock. I will most certainly be going back now. At any type of thrift store, they have toys, books, music, pots and pans, tools, and especially clothes. Their is many different types of clothes from old, to new, to something nobody would probably ever wear. However, their is a lot of old things that are worth a lot now of days. I even found a dish set that matched my mother's exactly. Plus the good thing about thrift stores is they are very cheap and easily affordable. I highly recommend the Southtowns Ladd Thrift Shop located in Buffalo, NY.
