My girlfriend and I recently moved to Philadelphia and went to Sisters for the first time. Unfortunately, it was the worst bar experience I've ever had. Someone slipped a Rohypnol into my girlfriend's drink. The beginning of the night was great. However, after our last beer, my girlfriend seemed much more drunk than me, which is unusual, as I'm the lightweight. She insisted that we leave, which we did. It was 12:15, which I recall precisely, as I was kind of irritated to be leaving so soon. I didn't realize at that point how serious the situation was. Shortly after, we were walking on a side street when she passed out on the sidewalk. I was unable to wake her, and I called 911. When the paramedics arrived, she was foaming at the mouth, her pupils were pinpricks and she was completely unresponsive. They were convinced that she'd intentionally taken a narcotic, such as heroin. In the ambulance they gave her a shot of Narcan, which sent her body into shock. Bloodwork and urine tests ruled out the presence of illicit narcotics and indicated the presence of Rohypnol. We were finally able to leave the hospital at 6:30am.  Needless to say, she feels awful today, but she's alive and was not violated or robbed. This evening, we called Denise Cohen, the general manager, to inform her of this so that she would be aware of what had happened in her bar. She was extremely dismissive, saying that this is the first report in all the years that Sisters has been open. She alluded that it was in some way our fault for not watching our drinks carefully and encouraged us to come back. We don't believe that it's the fault of the bar, but you'd think the manager would be more concerned. We're two girls and we know we need to be careful. Our drinks never left our hands and we never left each other. We're both 24, and we've had plenty of bar experience. This is something that could happen to anyone at any bar, but the point is, it happened to us at Sisters. We will not be going back. Pros: Great drink special, great atmosphere Cons: Wasn't worth the trip to the ER. Men aren't the only who use try to violate women.
