I strongly recommend not using Austin Aire-Serve for the following reasons:\r

1) They misrepresented their work and are unwilling to take any action to remedy the situation. When providing the in-home estimate, they told me verbally that they would put in a 16 SEER unit with a dual-stage compressor (a dual-stage compressor has a lower speed for cooler days so it is more efficient) and they wrote 16 SEER on the estimate. I assumed that 16 SEER required a dual stage compressor, because when discussing similar priced estimates with other companies, the other companies also mentioned a dual stage compressor. I did some research on the model numbers of the unit that Aireserve installed, and I found out that Aireserve installed a 16 SEER single speed compressor. They now refuse to provide any form of reparation. They informed me that the difference in price between a dual-stage and non-dual stage 16 SEER AC is $1000.\r
