I randomly heard about the Lake Shrine while surfing the internet. I never would have known it existed otherwise, even though I've probably driven past it about 9,000 times. If you haven't yet checked it out, I highly recommend you go. It's just a great space to be outdoors, take a walk, snap a few photos. When I went, there were a lot of sightseers from other countries? The Lake Shrine must be mentioned in many guidebooks?but it never seemed too busy. Everyone just wanders and does their own thing. You can't relax on any of the grass, but there are plenty of benches, both in the shade and in the sun, that you can sit on while reading, meditating or doing whatever it is you do. I'm sure I'll be back. Pros: Outdoors, Beautiful Scenery, Peaceful, Giant Koi Cons: Somewhat Touristy
