So, a friend and I randomly found sidebar only a few days after its opening, before the kitchen had made its debut. We were walking to union square and heard the music, so decided to stop in. The owner is a great guy, and the staff is rather friendly! After looking at the food menu, we knew it would easily become our new favorite spot. The menu is definitely not your traditional bar fare, and I'd say it's nothing short of amazing. We've eaten twice and both time ordered the ""mashed potatoe bar,"" which is excellent (blue cheese are the best!) Each time we've been there it's been packed, but we somehow always find a place to hang and have a good time. There are two seperate bars back to back, so it offers easy service. If not for anything else, go for the two for one happy hour! I trust that you will have a great time!
