Review content:
I took a group of friends and family to the Stanhope Grille for Restaurant Week. When the first few of our party arrived, we were escorted to the ""dining room"" to ""get away from all of the noise"" by the bar. It was a Thursday night so it was very very loud. Unfortunately the room was right next to the bar, so it was still very loud. A little off-putting, but the hostess was nice in a pretentious sort of way. Waiters were filling our glasses with water and serving us platters of delicious bread. The service was terrific. We tried not to eat too much of the bread to save up our appetites for the main courses.\r \r BAD DECISION.\r \r The lobster bisque was about 10 spoonfuls, and the salad was about 2 pieces of romaine. The entree... the duck was the size of my fist. I ordered the salmon, and it was funny because the pea puree and the goat cheese polenta cake had more flavor than the salmon itself. For dessert, I had the brownie with caramel sauce, and the brownies tasted like something I could get from Pepperidge Farm. \r \r The service was good, but also took a very long time. You would think that preparing items from the Restaurant Week menu would be done in an efficient manner but we were there for several hours. At the end, they gave us a 10$ gift certificate to use ""when we come back"" with our bill (18% gratuity already included, which was fine). Unfortunately, none of us wanted this certificate. Don't think any of us will be back.\r \r The place was pretty though. Pros: Pretty restaurant, friendly service Cons: Parking, slow service, noise, very average food (not worth the cost)
