Businiess name:  Ole Time Barbecue

Review content:
I have to say, I have been extremely disappointed in my barbecue experience in Raliegh, supposedly one of the capitals of american barbecue. My visit to Ole Time has only added to this dilemma. When we pulled up I thought ""Finally a real barbecue joint."" It had the look and feel of an original. Although on a day when it was 100 degrees outside, it was the same inside. No air conditioning. So what! we stayed anyway thinking it will add to a true Carolina Barbecue experience. Unfortunately the food did not live up the look. We ordered the ribs, no smoke flavor what so ever, seemed boiled first and where's the smoke ring? Fried Chicken, extremely soggy and greasy, inedible. Chopped Pork, good flavor mostly due to the excellent barcecue sauce, once again missing the elusive smokey flavor. The sides went from exceptional, collard greens & mac&cheese to horrible mashed potato, they had to come out of a box & mushy green beens. I found the service fun, if not fast. Then again I am from NYC. It is a shame, it seems if they put just a little more time into the smoking of their meats it can be a wonderful place. The barbecue sauce was good.
