Review content:
A young man showed up with a dirty small machine and one dirty metal brush. He asked me for towels to place on my wood floors and began ""cleaning"" my chairs. There was water and fluid strewn everywhere. After he finished two chairs, I asked him to please stop using the brush, as the two chairs he worked on now had several new tears on them. HE stated it is happening ""because they are old"". I explained that you do not use metal brushes on delicate fabric. He argued back . When I saw this was obviously a small time one man operation- I told him just get the stains out as best as he could without a metal brush- or ANY BRUSH. Again he insisted, went downstairs to his car and brought another brush. He asked me for another towel- as now the water and fluid had seeped through the wood- creating corroding of the floors. I had to place bags all over as it was seeping through everywhere. He then argued to take off the bags and give him more towels. By the time he was finished - 4 out of the 8 chairs had tears in the chairs, one had stuffing coming out of them. He then said he would clean the rest in the kitchen/ again flooding a new area. There was a flood in my dining area, as well as now in the kitchen. He kept on blowing the fuse in my apartment, and neighbors later reported it as well. No stains were removed. I was left with 8 chairs - 4 now unsuseable, the others now with NEW dirt from the antiquated machine he brought in. When I expressed my disbelief- this man became verbally combative and told me ""JUST DON't PAY ME"". He claimed in his five years of business -""never was he unable to take a stain out or caused tears"". He blamed it on that the chairs were too old and stained. When I wrote a letter explaining all this to the management aka ""RACHEL""- she explained the same as the worker- stating the chairs were too old with massive stains, further elaborating taking no responsibility for anything that occurred aside from using my towels. I would think one does not call an upholstery cleaning company for new chairs that are clean. When a customer asks to please stop using a metal brush and any other brush on delicate silk and cotton fabric several times- the worker should stop. I even asked to please just use a sponge- that i'd rather have stains than him to keep tearing my chairs. This worker was then asked to leave my home three times- he was being argumentative in a way that is abnormal for any worker in a customers home to respond. I was honestly scared as my husband was not home. Upon the companies response to refusal to take responsibility- stating I was lucky I did not pay- I conveyed via email, that I will need to report this to BBB as well as pursuing legal action for monies I am now liable for reimbursement of chairs and now ruined floors. This worker used my personal towels and then left a flood since the towels were not soaking up the mess he left. The fuse blowing 6 different times- neighbors came in and saw the floor now ruined. The management or rather one person running this ""Mr. Green Carpet"" known as ""RACHEL"" emailed again in response stating they will sue me for reporting what they have done and stating- I am causing slander and fraud. The companies erratic retaliatory responses only further evidence this is a very small mom and pop shop. This is a very sad, sick small time DIRTY ""OPERATION"". UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISGRACEFUL and honestly kind of scary that these people go into our homes. Stick to Sears and reputable companies certified by the BBB.
