Review content:
The Veterinarian and Tech were very nice & they did a good job of explaining the treatment options for my cat, but if your pet needs anything other than a check-up, get a second opinion at another vet. The problem is that Banfield is out to make as much money as possible - they try to enroll you in their ""Wellness Program"" for $200-$400/yr to make things more ""affordable"". Another vet did a full dental exam/cleaning, extracted 2 teeth & drained a cyst for about $160 total (incl. take-home meds). I took her to Banfield because of the cyst but they also wanted to extract 2 more teeth (that alone cost $270, not including things like meds/anesthesia). I left with 2 pages of itemized costs for over $1000. Everything was a separate charge: surgical instruments/gloves/gowns, x-ray interpretation, medical waste disposal... I've never seen charges for things like this in my previous experience. They seem to be well trained in adding on costs for completely unnecessary procedures and medication. They wanted to give my cat pain meds after draining the cyst (injection AND take-home). Her last vet didn't seem to think pain meds were necessary the last time she had the same procedure done, and she doesn't seem to even notice anything is wrong... I would know if she was in pain, but they made me feel a little guilty about wanting to opt out of those meds & a $200 fluid analysis. They are good at upselling/adding on services & products, then they try to convince you to enroll in the Wellness Program to save on costs. Unfortunately it seems to be the big corporation that makes their employees do this... I would probably go back to the veterinarian if he didn't work there.
