I am outraged at how you and your corporation are raping the Douglasville community with these budget energy usage numbers. When I opened my electric bill I could not believe how your company is overbilling me. I left home May 16, turned off everything but two lights on timers in the house and two outside lights. Please keep in mind no air conditioning and unplugged everything not necessary to be plugged. I returned home on May 27, but did not turn on the air conditioning until Sunday May 29. I used the air conditioning unit for one whole day because I left home again on Tuesday, May 31 and did not return until Tuesday June 7. My house is a ranch approximately 1,700 square feet only one floor is using the air conditioner unit. Why did my utility bill almost double from April to May? Please explain that to me; I am tired of utility companies and big companies ripping off the general public. To make matters worse I can’t change electric companies is definitely a slap in the face. I spoke with one of your customer representatives and he told me in order to get my meter checked to see if it was working properly I needed to pay $50.00 for a service charge. What an additional outrage. I will begin talking to my neighbors, my association and anyone who will listen about this outrage injustice. There is no sense in how you are overbilling families, who are just surviving because of companies like yours who take advantage of the very people, who keep you in business. The utility commission needs to be aware of how you are budgeting what to charge families based on your financial needs.
