I started using Lockworx when Frank first opened it a LONG time ago. I went in to get my very long and thick hair permed since it was the only way I knew how to wear it. He said no, you don't need it permed, I'll give it a good cut that will be nicer. I was stunned at how nice my hair looked!! He could have permed it and gotten a LOT more money out of me that day since my hair usually took two perms! I was impressed, and have been a pretty steady customer ever since. I moved to Holt for fifteen years, but went back after skipping around and never finding a stylist that cut my hair as well as the well trained staff at Lockworx. They always ask me about additional services, and I am glad they do or I would forget to have my brows waxed, etc!! I get compliments on my hair a LOT, and I know it is due to their professional advice and constantly upgraded skills. My current stylist is Mandy, and she is always suggesting new highlights, updates, etc to keep me current.
Pros: great parking, it is close, free, and next to Beaners!!
Cons: none

I absolutely loved Pierre's. My mother even bought her wedding dress there. I don't remember the name of the woman that helped me but she was Asian and so cute. It's like she instantly was able to understand my personality and she became pretty quirky throughout the day with me. Dress shopping had become a little bit stressful until I went to Pierre's, where the whole day was just a day of fun. I had explained to her that I wanted a dress that was completely different from all others but still gorgeous. She brought me dress after dress and I loved them all. When she brought one in and antique gold color, I was a little hesitant about it but she pushed me to try it on anyways, swearing that I'd like it. I'm glad I gave in because it happened to be the dress I bought! She knew exactly what I had in mind and I hope she's there again when I look for bridesmaid dresses. It was a fabulous experience for me!

For both men’s and women’s clothing this store is sure to please. It was about six months ago that I was last here and it took my friend clawing at me to leave. I loved looking at all the unique items that were priced to kill. The selection obviously was diverse and catered to all your needs; be it for formal night or just a night on the town.

I have always loved Tanfaster, but it wasn't until I moved to Atlanta and then Chicago that I realized how hard it is to come by such a great tanning salon! Whenever I go back to Lansing I make sure to go tanning at Tanfaster. You will not find better customer service or get a better tan anywhere else!

... well not exactly for two bits, but about as close as you can get these days. If you're a real man and don't go to one of these sissy "hair salon" places when your mop needs a trim, you should definitely head over to the Frandor Barber Shop. Be prepared for a throw-back to at least the early 70s and I'd say even further back than that. Lime green walls, some super ancient guy shining shoes off to the side, and a bunch of dirty old men telling jokes. It doesn't get any better. I prefer to sit in Phil's chair when he's there, but anyone at the Frandor Barber Shop will do.
