Bill's Cakes and Catering has been in business for 35 years now. In that time, we YES forgot to make a small wedding cake for New Years Day 2010. The groom called me and asked about the cake. I told him that I could have the cake decorated and delivered within one hour. He said that would be fine. Ten minutes later while I was working on the cake, the bride called and asked if I would have the cake at the hall within 1/2 hour. I replied NO, that it would take me a full hour, but it would be there and would be what they had ordered and be beautiful. She (the bride) told me that if I could not be there within 1/2 hour, she didn't want the cake, and insisted on a refund instead. I told her I would refund her money paid in full. Five minutes later the mother of the bride called me, and told me that the bride left her reception to go find a wedding cake....(on New Years Day and without a previous order being placed?).......WE could have had the cake there in less than the 1/2 hour since the last phone call.........This bride was irrational in her thinking, as the cake could be there in plenty of time for the reception and cake cutting, but she preferred to create a lot of un-necessary drama.........I truly felt she made the wrong choice...........Her money was cheerfully refunded and I have never heard from her again.
