I call good ol' Larry to ask if he's buying #1 copper, and he answers that he is. Then he questions me to what condition it would be in,brass ends, assorted contaminants, etc. ( #1 copper is only #1 copper. It isn't anything else,it's clean, that's why it's #1. That wasn't a trick phone call Larry, you old stump. ) I reply to him that it would be clean #1. He says he's not interested. I'm a licensed plumber. The metal would be legitimate scrap. If you're not a salvage yard you shouldn't advertise as one,and neither should you say one thing, then recant in a 1 minute phone call, jerking my chain, and wasting my dime. Larry doesn't seem even aware of the simple grading of metals. To sum up,I can confidently say... duhhhhhhh....If you want to scrap metal and can make your way to Keene, check out Buffum's. These guys have their act together, pricing is one the highest in the state, service is casual but businesslike and consistent. They don't freak out about the occasional piece of tape or label sticker on # 1,unlike many yards.
Perhaps it should be Larry's Construction and Stuff. Don't claim salvage if you don't do it.
