Grazianos is a great place for traditional southern Italian food. The atmosphere is extremely casual and the food is just plain delicious. Service has a bit to be desired, but its tolerable considering the prices and quality of the meals. I enjoy the cheese ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs. Salads are great too. And, the pizza's are delicious! The menu is quite extensive for a small family run restaurant. If you're looking for a casual atmosphere and some real good Italian food, give Grazianos a try! They also have a restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga as well.

I found this hotel online through Orbitz when I was planning a trip to NYC a couple of years ago and because it was considerably less expensive to stay there than in Manhattan, I gave it a try. Was I every pleasantly surprised! This is a beautiful new hotel, only a few years old, located directly on the Hudson River overlooking Manhattan. The Path station that takes you into NYC is right next door and takes you under the river and into the World Trade Center Path Station, so it is an excellent location to stay in and still be only a few minutes away from the City. It is also within walking distance to the ferry boats that take you into the City and to the trains that take you to the ferrys to see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. You may also walk to local restaurants and the Path train will also take you to a local Mall not far from the hotel. This high rise hotel is decorated in a very contemporary style and the rooms are incredibly nice. They have nice comfy bedding, beautiful furnishings and bathrooms and even include a small coffee pot and refrigerator (not a mini-bar). There is a restaurant/lounge in the hotel called the Vu and it features floor to ceiling windows so you can enjoy that fabulous Manhattan skyline which is beautiful during the day or at night and you can even see the Statue of Liberty from there...and from some of the rooms as well! The buffet breakfast at the Vu is overpriced and the food cold though, so I don't recommend that...I have tried it 3 times....never again! When I first stayed there it was easy to book rooms at this hotel, but this well kept secret is no longer secret...book early, it is always full.

I just got back from having lunch for the first time at Daphne's Greek Cafe in the Orange Mall on Tustin Avenue in Orange. What a treat it was! I had the luncheon gyro plate and it was complete with a delicious and plentiful gyro, a greek salad and delicious rice. Even included a soft drink and was only around $7! It was nice to try something different than the regular fast food luncheon fare of hamburgers and burritos. Daphne's is a casual place, you go to the counter and order your food and then they bring it to you. You can phone in your order too. They also have kabob plates and a delicious vegetarian platter with hummus, falafel, greek salad, and stuffed grape leaves. Daphne's also provides a catering menu which would be a lot of fun for a party! Give it a try if you haven't, you might be pleasantly surprised!

Believe it or not, there are no Dunkin Donuts in the entire state of California! My sister lives in Massachusetts and when I am there, we go almost every day. The coffee at Dunkin Donuts is far superior to Starbucks! Since we cannot get it here, I actually order the coffee from their website and have it delivered to my home. They have several flavors and the prices are not bad. Twice a year they have sales and that's when I load up. Usually in spring and again right before Christmas is when the sales are. The donuts are great too! If anyone from the corporate offices of Dunkin Donuts is reading this, how about opening some stores in California!!!!!!!!!

The Cracker Barrel is a chain that consists of locations that are a restaurant/old country store combination and they are very popular! And, there's a good reason for that. The Cracker Barrel in Sturbridge, Massachusetts is a delightful place with an old fashion ambience. The outside of the building looks like an old weatherbeaten building with an outside porch with rockers on it so that while waiting to be seated you can enjoy the outdoors. The old country store is a walk down memory lane. They have old fashioned candies in wrappers that replicate the original old ones (like Hershey bars, cracker jacks, etc.) Great gifts for your grandparents! There's also an array of gift items such as kitchenware, clothing, Yankee Candles, greeting cards, and gift food items. The restaurant is very affordable and the food is abundant. The biscuits and gravy and cornbread are awesome and the country fried steak, chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese and fried apples are all terrific. Breakfasts are outstanding and are big enough to be shared. It's all down home comfort food. You will not leave hungry or broke! The staff of the store and the restaurant are among the friendliest people I've ever met. I highly recommend this place to you and your family.

Massachusetts is the home to Yankee Candles which are sold all over the country in Yankee Candle retail locations as well as in specialty gift shops and also in shops like Bed Bath and Beyond and Linens and Things. They are in my opinion the only candles to buy. The scents are strong and delightful and they burn for hours and hours. They can't be beat. I was thrilled to learn while visiting Sturbridge, MA that there was a Yankee Candle Outlet Store next door to their Yankee Candle retail location. The outlet sells seconds and overruns and out of season items. The best time to buy is on holiday weekends because the outlet usually has awesome sales with even more substantial markdowns. I like to stock up on them for gifts as you really can't tell them apart from the first rate ones in the store next door! So, if you are ever in central Massachusetts, be sure to visit this outlet, you won't be disappointed! And, if not, its worth the money to try a Yankee Candle anyway. You'll never want to burn any other kind of candle!

Zito's is a great place for pizza. Located in the Von's shopping center on the corner of Santa Ana Canyon Road and Imperial Highway in Anaheim Hills, it has a great atmosphere with lots of picnic-style benches and a row of booths. They have TV's all over the place including one HUGE screen and for all you sports fans they always have sports on the TV's. There is also a very large seating area outside and they do offer delivery. Pizza is New York style and some of the best I've ever had. The calzones are extremely generous and delicious. Hard to find those out on the west coast! They also serve some Italian entrees like pasta and lasagne and they have beer and wine available as well. They also have a great selection of salads including a Greek salad which is my favorite. It's not the cheapest place for pizza, but if you live in the area you can get coupons in the newspaper or on your grocery receipt for a little bit of savings. It's worth the money though. Give it a try!

Villa Nova is a long time establishment located along restaurant row on PCH in Newport. For years I'd heard how good it was and finally gave it a try and was I sorry I hadn't tried it sooner! The location is superb with window views of the yachts in the bay. They have a dock outside the back of the restaurant where people who come on their boats can moor them. The menu is fantastic and offers a wide variety of selections from Italian fare to a nice selection of seafood. Appetizers are fabulous and my favorites are the eggplant slices and the mozzarella caprese salad. Save room for dessert though, their chocolate souffle is the best dessert around. The souffles are small so don't plan on splitting one, order one for yourself, you'll be glad you did! Prices are moderate. There's often a long wait to be seated. The lounge is a very happening place among the 40-50 year old crowd. They have a keyboard player there with chairs for seating all around him. I don't know if they take reservations, but i'd give them a call to see if they do. Valet parking.

Petsmart is a one-stop-shop for pet lovers. Not only is it a magnificent huge store stocked with just about any pet need you could imagine, from things for hampsters and birds to dogs and cats and even horses, but they also feature a grooming department and a veterinary clinic! And, although I haven't seen it yet because it just opened this past weekend, there is now a pet boarding facility there as well. The store is very clean and they welcome you AND your dog to shop together which is really fun. I've noticed that they even have obedience training classes right in the middle of store sometimes. At Christmas I had my dogs' photo taken in the store with Santa which was a kick. And, if you're in the market for a pet, they sponsor pet adoption days on weekends featuring many of the rescue organizations from around the southland. Oh, and I should also mention that their prices are very competitive, in fact I find them to be lower than other pet stores on a lot of items.

The Orange County Mining Company is a restaurant that sits atop a hillside in Orange and offers spectacular views of the city below. The narrow winding road leading up to the restaurant is a little hair raising, and may result in your ordering an alcoholic beverage to calm your nerves once you arrive ;) but the food is fantastic, the service is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is fun and great for a special occasion or a romantic dinner for two. I'd really recommend this restaurant for people who enjoy a good generous cut of meat. They offer prime rib, a variety of different steaks, ribs, chicken and a nice array of seafood as well. The soup and salad bar is huge and can make for a meal in itself. Be sure to try the chili, it is delicious! And, like the previous reviewer mentioned, the cheese bread that they serve is soooo good. Although I've always been too full to try them, their desserts look absolutely heavenly. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you give this spot a try. They do take reservations and I'd recommend you make them. Oh, and although I haven't tried it yet, they do have a Sunday champagne brunch and I bet it's good! The Orange County Mining Company is located off of Chapman Avenue at 10000 Crawford Canyon Rd.
