If you are looking for a spa experience that you'll enjoy check out the spa on the fifth floor of Nordstrom downtown Seattle. They'll make you feel great and the setting is very comfortable. Worth the cost and time spent relaxing-- plus the services offered are unique and enjoyable (not the "i-am-too-hot-in-the-mud-bath")

Anne at #1 Pro Nails is a sweet gal and can give a killer manicure and spa pedicure. It's not a complete spa, but for sure a good place for nails. The women who work there are inviting and friendly and have fun while they work. For manicure/pedicure it's $30 and plan to spend an hour to an hour and a half there being pampered. Call ahead for an appointment as they fill up fast after 3pm every day.

Imagine: AVEDA products, beautiful salon and much cheaper than all other aveda salons. Welcome to Aveda's training salon- but you have to be willing to take a risk with your hair. (hey, it does grow back!) Actually, I haven't heard of an upset customer -- especially since before and after the student works on you, a professional and teacher comes around to help out/clean up the edges of a product.
In the beginning, they have you sign a form that you may come out with something not-perfect and you have to recognize that it is a training salon and risks- but I always feel like I am taking a chance with any stylist for the first time so I don't see that as a huge drawback. Plus, Mercedes and Chase are both my favorites and worth trying out to see for yourself. For $14-18 per haircut, it's cheaper than other chain store hair salons (i.e. hairmasters) and much more upscale. The thing I loved most is that they are new and excited to be working in their field so their enthusiasm and happiness helps me rest assured that they care a lot and will give tons of effort into my haircut.
They book up fast, so plan at least a week or two in advance-- they also do facials and spa stuff like a rosemary mint body wrap that sounds divine. Check it out next time you need a haircut and want to have an enjoyable experience.

Although the menu is not the most creative, it is consistent and good. It is Seattle's best rated Dim Sum year after year and for sure a local favorite. Around Chinese New Year the dragons come into the eating area and dance around you at the tables-- a must see! They start serving early and finish dim sum serving around 4:30 or 5pm and then become a typical Chinese (and good) restaurant. Try the pot stickers (you can really taste the ginger!), steamed humbows, baked humbows, egg tarts, and steamed shrimp with vegetables if you want to assure some good eats. If you are adventurous and enjoy less American-Chinese try anything on those carts, since I have not found anything that is too awful. Parking can be messy Saturday and Sunday mornings, but hang in there because the food is well worth it.

While I have a Subaru, Queen City works on every make and model out there. When my car was hit the first time, I called all the dealerships around town and asked where they take the cars when their loaners and/or used vehicles come in trashed and need a fix. The Subaru dealers I called said they would recommend Queen City- and they were right! Both times my car was hit it was just a bumper bashed in- and each time they handled the insurance issues that came up, and dealt with my obsessive compulsive nature for the car to be perfect looking- which did not take much to fix since they did a great job initially both times. The way they blend colors together matches perfectly to the original paint and years later, the car looks as good as new and as though it never was repaired/repainted. They even do the hard to find all-aluminum welding on the new Jags and Audi's which is rare! This is clearly the best auto body shop around, and well worth the cost for the luxury service.
