I wanted to share my experience with my plastic surgery with Dr. Blau. In 2006, I had liposuction of the chin (submental lipectomy) to remove the ""double chin"" that bothered me immensely for years.
I first came to Dr. Blau after reviewing the patient photos on his website. I found that his before and after photos were very impressive and I traveled from Boston to New York for the consultation. After meeting Dr. Blau and his staff, I was comfortable with my decision to have the surgery and scheduled it for 2 weeks later.
The day of the surgery, I was nervous, but everyone in his office made me feel at ease. I had my chin liposuction under local anesthetic, which cost a little less. While I can't say the actual surgery was ""fun"", Dr. Blau and his nurses made sure that I was comfortable and in no pain. The surgery went very quickly with only a small incision under my chin that required only one stitch. I felt fine immediately afterwards and really didn't have any recovery time, although I took it easy for a couple weeks and avoided exercise and lifting. The stitch came out a couple of days later, and the swelling went down over the following weeks. It took me a while to get used to the new look, which is normal, but I was very pleased with the results. I wouldn't have been able to get rid of the double chin through diet and exercise, because it's hereditary in my family. I was fortunate to have good skin elasticity to have the simple liposuction procedure rather than a full neck/facelift.
I am very glad that I made the decision to have the surgery and highly recommend Dr. Blau for any plastic surgery procedure due to the excellent care and natural looking results he consistently achieves.
