Best Subs In Town, Hands Down 2/27/2009

Whether you call them submarine sandwiches, hoagies, or grinders, 9th Street Deli makes 'em bigger and better than anyplace this side of Pittsburgh. The sandwiches are huge and delicious, giant two-footers for less than $8 (you can also buy a half) that can feed a family. The restaurant is a vintage deli, in a hundred-plus year old building, and is family-owned. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the food is made fresh to order. If you've been eating at Subway or--god help you--Sheetz MTO (where they charge you extra for cheese!!), then you owe it to yourself to go to my favorite restaurant. Ninth Street Deli is worth making a special trip to Indiana. Pros: Delicious food made fresh to order, family-owned, friendly staff, quaint Cons: can by busy at lunch rush, because it's so popular and food is made fresh more
