I must start off and say that I have known Makado for years now and after a recent visit I feel compelled to share my experience. Everything there has definitely gone downhill. The food is the only thing that holds somewhat steady. It is certainly a fun atmosphere as a hibachi steak house, BUT the waitstaff is appalling. We went for a friend's birthday and decided to sit in the section only for Sushi on a basic tuesday night. There was only one other table filled there. Our server was GINA and I have never ever had worse service than hers. I was once a server in a past and I know how frustrating it can be sometimes, but we were nothing but pleasant with her. However, she was nothing but rude to us. She overcharged us on items, spilled one of our drinks and charged us to refill it, AND on top of that charged our birthday girl $7.00 to sing, bring some fruit and souvenir chopsticks. We had only asked if they sing and she neglected to say you had to pay for it. When we asked what the charge was for she accused us of being ""rude."" I have never written a review of anywhere, so I hope you understand how terrible it was with GINA. (The food is still good though!)
